An excellent review here Peter, I have to say even though I don’t have any of the other era 1 products from hornby I am tempted by Locomotion just to see that gear on the top all working, I think it looks incredible and for it to be hornby who have made it possible, I know we all have a moan about hornby from time to time but this just shows they are still in the game, I will be very surprised if this doesn’t get an award next year because as I say that gear on the top and all working is incredible, excellent review overall, keep up the great work.
Everybody's doing a brand-new dance now (Come on, baby, do the Loco-motion) I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now (Come on, baby, do the Loco-motion) 🙃 Sorry but I cant see this locomotive without thinking of the song. I'll have to pick one of these Locos up. I've always had an interest in early railways.
I don't get the fascination of having these as models. The protypes ran so long ago & we have such little photographic & written accounts of their performance in service, we cannot obtain any atmosphere from running them. The size is also a negative. These should not be marketed in a scale smaller than 0 gauge in my view. I think it will have a few runs around your track & put back in the box and back on the shelf. Boxes are nice to keep small screws in!
I heard of issues with this loco ,obtained from rails ,live near by so was able to pick up from the shop.,asked for a test run ,no complaints ran well both ways very happy.I dont want sound, its too small, maybe dcc in the future for slower running, but I think this a shot in the dark its so small ,but the railway modeller always wants company's to defy the laws of physics, always had a down on my own modelllers. No matter what they produce its not good enough. As a back story my first "train set" is a hornby first 2 rail 8F freight set which was a Xmas present many Years ago.,still runs.Cant believe what is available now.never happy.
👍 👍 Love it . Thanks for sharing . Merry Christmas all 🎄🎄🎄 🎉
