By constructing a box of strong wood, it would be much safer if Moses' emotions got to him again, and later on, such a box overlayed with Gold would provide more protection, as well as significance to the object. Only the appointed people were allowed to touch the Ark. If the wrong people touched it then they would drop dead. This is why people had to stay far from it. I believe that it was keep on the sticks not only for "cleanliness" but also the weight of the ark. It would have been easier to carry it in this way. I believe in the Jewish Kabbalah version of events. Which says that the first 2 stones contained the knowledge and wisdom of the Kabbalah and when Moses saw them worshipping the golden cow he saw them as children and smashed the tablets and only passed down the true knowledge to those worthy of it, and gave them the Ten Commandments as it would be easy to follow for such childish people.

I think the ark is nothing but a box that man built. What it represented was what was important. The ark was simply repsentative of the covenant that God had with Israel. In 1 Kings it's mentioned that an invader from Egypt took *everything* from Jerusalem during the reign of Rehoboam. That makes a pretty good case for the Ark ending up in Egypt or Ethiopia based on that alone. I'm surprised you didn't bring up that verse.

Do read up on Ron Wyatt's discovery of the remains of Noah's Ark (not Arc) on Mount Ararat. The Turkish Government has acknowledged it and designated it as a historical site.

After Jesus died there was an earth quake and split the rock in half, Christ’s blood dripped down on the top of the Holy Ark of Father Gods 10 Commandment fulfilling the New Covenant being the Lamb of God, the last sacrifice. God came down to dwell among His people with the ark but it's no longer needed because He became flesh in Jesus and dwelt among us and when He ascended He sent His Spirit to dwell inside of us until He returns again and makes us like Him.

I think the ark is nothing but a box that man built. What it represented was what was important. The ark was simply repsentative of the covenant that God had with Israel. And God says though moses if they kept hie covenant he will be with them. When isreals faith wavered, the ark was captured from them. It was also captured to prove to them that God didn't reside there in. And that he made a covenant with those that he choose, not those that possess the ark. The ark didn't perform miracles God did. He it didn't defend isreal when they betrayed their covenant with God.
