Model(s) by modeler Rob Otero and presented/reviewed at the June 29, 2017 meeting of the Tacoma Green Dragons, International Plastic Modelers' Society (IPMS).
The first Italeri boat kit was the 1/35 Elco PT boat, not the S100. Those exhausts were made to keep her quiet for the St Naziare raid. They are not stock Vosper exhausts.
As an aircraft scale modeler, as we have models with detailed engines, I wonder why is it we are offered all these larger scale PT boats that below the decks are usually empty hulls instead of a nice detailed engine room, especially when they usually are using aircraft engines themselves? Especially for the inflated price they want for the size.
Brilliant review - thank you Rob - I am thinking of buying and building a Vosper MTN and have found some photo etch from honk kong you update it to an earlier version but I believe it may be up to 400 hong kong dollars, but I need to do a bot more research yet, what are your thoughts, (im in the UK). regards George
