I am a Japanese and learned English in the school in Japan. But I had stayed in Qld for a half a year . Your pronunciation sounds so natural to me and the one you tried to make a pronunciation like an American sound so fun to me. I never use "r" sounds at the end of those words!
I'm splitting my sides laughing over here... lived in Australia for two years and neva did figure out that how Aussies get their accent is by ending half the words with the /a/ sound and just discovered it, it's true!!! Blew my mind to hear it XD This, and the time I discovered people say 'dahns' for 'dance' but 'ant-sa' for 'answer'. Being educated in BrE I never could figure it out. Thank you so much for this vid, you obviously care a lot about your students and I am forever a fan of the Aussie accent and all the people I knew there:)
I’ve been living here for 11 years and haven’t noticed that so many words finishes with “ae”, this is the best and easiest pronunciations advice I have ever heard, thank you ! 😊

I'm an American that likes watching your videos. Learning how to speak English with a Commonwealth accent, (excluding Canadian) may seem simple, but it's easier said than done. Of all the different varieties, I've found Australian to be the easiest, but New Zealand to be the hardest. Thanks so much for the videos, it really helps!
sorry but americans speak horrible.... people learning english language never understand americans. we can pick up american english when we are finishing the course . We could recognise a lot of gramatics mistakes in american english....terrible !!!
I’m a Korean that used to love British. After hearing someone speaking the Australian accent, it’s quickly become my number one accent because I love that mix of American and British. Also, it tends to be easier for me to speak English in general because I can pronounce the soft D in words like “Bitter” at ease without sounding American.
Why are you taking linguistics? (Genuinely curious!) Is it a class as part or a career path?! ....going to feel dumb if you say "I'm studying to be a linguist"
I’ve been keen on AusEng accent since my days studying abroad in Singapore. It’s awesome that I found your channel. Listening to your aussie podcasts everyday mate ❤️
I've noticed that most Philippinos speak english with an American accent...makes sense really, because isn't The Philippines a former US colony? So I guess American English was taught in schools...
Coming here to learn the accent because I live in Melbourne for 4 years now and despite being a able to speak fluent English, the Singapore / Asian accent makes it quite difficult for Aussies to understand me sometimes. We learn British English but we spoke mostly American English. Also, I realised that I have to speak up or be louder than I normally converse when with strangers here. Either because they can’t understand me with my accent or it’s the culture here. Or both. I come from a culture where speaking loud means you are rude, angry or attention-seeking. Or this could just be me. Haha.. Anyway, thank you for this video. Learnt so much in just a few minutes. EASY. 😜
I'm learning Ukrainian at the moment to speak with someone who is learning Australian - and I never realised how many letter sounds (as an Australian) we have completely gotten lazy with - this was an eye opener!
Hearing the various vowel combinations from the different words was very helpful! Love it. This is very helpful for my journey. I'm mustering the courage to saddle up and lasso me an Aussie accent, haha.

More correctly, most Australians say ‘dance’ like the Northern English, the Irish, and maybe the Scottish.
