Lookin good
I had dreamt of my own channel, dedicated towards Die-Cast cars, racing, case unboxings, reviews, customizations, and other ideas. My health sadly, made this impossible. Over a 18-24 month period I got much worse. I'd still love to somehow make a track inside my apartment. My issue is space. Trying to design a track that will not take up a lot of space and is easily disassembled and reassembled. I absolutely love the Die-Cast car hobby. Thank you for your dedication and I'll definitely be watching any new videos. You definitely earned a subscriber here!
@@EdsterIII Glad to have ya! Hang in there man and check out SpoolHeads.com for 3D printed track. They are working on a modular setup kit that might be a good fit for your needs. 😎
So glad you took the time to make this video. What I love the most is what you're learning and how you're learning it. Thank you!
Hey thanks! It’s a challenge I enjoy. The track bias and lane bias goblins are tough to defeat. 😅
@Live Young Die-Cast Baines, as you know I also enjoy this process, so it was very cool to see you and hear you talk about your challenges (some things I never realized).
@@gravitythrottleracing Right on! Love it. So many variables at play it’ll get your head spinning. 😅
Excellent update 👏 Progress is progress, no apologies needed
Thanks Chris!
Yes!! Keep the updates coming 💪🏼🤙🏼
Man that thing is a beast! Can’t wait to see it take some cars!
Looking good dude!
Thanks! So is your van! 🤩
Track is looking super cool.
Looking good thanks for sharing and this help track people like me come up with ways to improve performance on my track. Much appreciate.
Glad it’s helpful! 😎 Every track is ultimately a unique physics experiment, so have fun with it and hunt down the goblins where ya can.
Looking good. Can't wait for it!
Can‘t wait to see the second 90 degree. And the rest of this build. And of course the rally track! Thank you for sharing it!
Looking forward to seeing the finished track. You've definitely put a lot of thought and work in the design and build. Working out all the kinks takes a lot of time. I haven't had the privilege to race on your old track. But hopefully in the future I can build a car to race down the new deep eddy track.
I hope so too! Thanks!
Great video!!!👍👍
Let's see what you are doing, let's go.
Great job looking forward to see it finished and cars racing!
So good to see your progress! It's looking great! Thanks for sharing!
Cool track man! Truely understand the work 👏
Great to see, it is not a track that is just thrown together!
I appreciate seeing your planning, objectives, testing and tuning,
and know to get it right at times, can take a while.
Cheers, all the best, Marc D
If I had a little more room, I'd build one for sure. I still may put in a switch back track, space tho😮
Looks great man. I always thought these tracks took up entire rooms, but this is about the same size room I have open.
This is GREAT STUFF! Thank you for the BTS video! Cool to see how the magic is made!
Great layout, thought I wanted to build a straight drag strip. Your track has me leaning into some turns and open track sections. Keep up the build tips. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful. More coming soon!
Love seeing the build process. Keep up the great work!
That’s some great insight into the deep eddy build! Lots of inspiration there. Cheers for sharing your progress
A lot of work to get a layout performing right for sure ! Looks like your coming along there, good luck and good fun to ya .....and us too !
It's looking good brother...can't wait to see it in action!
Layout is looking solid, can’t wait to see further progress!
Great to see the behind the scenes and update. Mahalo.
Great to hear your thoughts on track angles and how to set up a track in order to get the kind of racing you want to see. Thanks for sharing your expert knowledge. Can't wait for Vans Gone Wild.
Thanks Grumpy Cloud! Looking forward to VGW as well! Its been a long delay but hopefully we’ll end up with something well worth the wait. 😎
I'm sure we all realise making a good track is far more difficult than it looks - your previous track was very good and quite a bit better then your first. It clearly requires a lot of testing and fine tuning. One of the strengths of the previous track was the amount of action on the finishing straight and it looks like the new track will be the same. Looking forward to the first race!
This is awesome! I love these type of videos. Keep up the amazing work. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks for the behind the scenes look on your track build and testing.
It's nice to know that you are planning, testing and tweaking the track build for ultimate speed and performance! I really appreciate that! I've raced on some tracks that were just thrown together and didn't make for good Racing.
I can't wait to see the upcoming build videos. Also, I didn't get to race on the old track, but I sure am looking forward to putting some of my builds on your new track.
Thanks for all the hard work!
Thanks! All key stuff to a great contest. I’ve got a list going for racers that I need to invite for the next invitational. You’ll be on it!
@@LiveYoungDieCast Thanks Bud! Have a great day!
Do you by chance know what casting or castings you will want for your invitational?
Possible weight? Thanks and have a great weekend.
@@PoBoyRacing80 Something is in the works but castings and specs are on hold until I complete the track. I’ll reach out and make sure you have extra time for the long journey.
Cool man👍
Great name for the show. Look forward to enjoying your channel. new subscriber
Right on! Welcome in!
Very cool to get the behind the scenes, thanks Baines!! I need to ask one question though…. Will we have the deep eddy pool??? 😮😮😮
Yes indeed! Pool, Moontower, etc…
oh man. how did i miss this whole series?! Ashamed of myself. Got some catching up to do.
All good. Wound up scrapping the build until we get back to TX. But some good stuff in there regardless.
New subscriber here, just came across your channel....looking forward to seeing how the new track turns out
Welcome to it! This one didn’t work out in the space but will get another attempt in a new space this fall. Currently, a new rally track will be revealed soon so lots of rally racing this summer. Hope ya tune in! 🏁😎
@@LiveYoungDieCast I would love to be able to have the space to build a nice rally track..... We are certainly looking forward to seeing how it turns out
Legit video my guy where were the track sections purchased ?
Thanks…Track pieces are from a handful of “Adventure Force Crash Racers” sets from Walmart. But Amazon and eBay will also have them.
How do you figure out your pitch for your track?
Sorry I missed this one a while back! For what it’s worth at this late moment, the rule of thumb is “one inch per foot.” So if the first stretch out of the gate to the turn is 6 feet long, it’s a good idea to place that turn 6” below the start gate height. It’s mainly a starting point to get ya going with something that works well with gravity considering the weight and wheel size of the typical Diecast car. And from there ya just adjust it to your liking and test cars to find an average pace and performance that works. In the end, it’s all about keeping momentum and increasing the potential energy so that competitors are gaining speed on the home stretch. At least that’s what I like to see.
Nice, but you really need a run out track so the cars do not smash into each other after the race. Please see what you can do about that. Thanks.
Just a test layout at the bottom so far. The final build will definitely have a run out.
@@LiveYoungDieCast Thank you so much.
To my European die-cast enthusiasts: can you recommend European online resources for die-cast track?
@@carpandrei7493 The best online sources for Diecast track are: SpoolHeads.com, SlanManCustoms.com and jlhkrafts.com
What kind of track are you using? My boys are really getting into diecast and we want to build a custom track. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Most of the tracks I’ve built over the years involve a mixture of the orange hot wheels track (painted gray) and several kit sets from Walmart called Adventure Force Crash Racers. Each kit contains 4 open straights and turn pieces that can be connected for a combination of 180 or 90degree turns. You’ll need several kits to get road course built. Mattel has produced similar track kits in the past so that stuff can be found on eBay….”Sizzler or Fat” Track. It’s black and comes in kits featuring 2-lane or 3-lane open track parts. Many items on these tracks are custom such as mergers, laned turns, start gates and such. It’s all designed and built by small businesses that 3D print the parts. They’ll have stock and custom items available to your specific needs. Search for SpoolHeads, JLHkrafts, SlanMan Customs and Hot Car Track. All all of them provide a variety of great products, SpoolHeads offers 100% of what you need right off the shelf to build a road course top to bottom. Another good place to visit is redlinederby.com.
Hope that helps. Best of luck on a track build! 😎
@@LiveYoungDieCast thank you for the guidance! I picked up two Adventure Force sets yesterday. The boys are excited.
@@Pokedad_2 My pleasure, hope y’all enjoy!
I'm making a track.....I want in😂😂😂how do I get an invite or accepted into the diecast community?
Build the track. List the track and RUclips channel in a profile on RedlineDerby.com and host a race for a mail-in tournament. 😊
@@LiveYoungDieCast much appreciated.....thanks for taking the to respond..love the channel
@@TGA2010000 Happy to help! Make it go! We all want more tracks and more exciting racing!
