The best car that was ever built. We had similar white limo B4 built in 1992. It was TDI and everything was stock on it. We had it for less than 16 years (bought from the 1st owner in my country). Sadly, its life ended in a disaster after becoming a horrifying wreck after accident. We then changed 2 more cars, but B4 was something that was so special for us. We will miss that car. *Yeah, it also had few rusty parts, but was excellent for a car that almost became an oldtimer.
An Audi B4? Rusty? Then it was probably welded together from 3 others by a few drunks back in the late 90s haha :D In all seriousness, sure, time takes its toll on everything sadly but those cars are damn well rustproofed!
The B4 2.0 seems to have shorter gears than the B3 1.8 it seems. The Audi 80 B3, VW Golf and Passat 1.8, Opel Astra F 1.6 all seem to have extremely long gears good for highway cruising. Wonder if they dropped them on purpouse the next generation, just to force people into buying their bigger range models, and diesels?
One engine could have different gearboxes. For instance, in my B4 2.0 ABT (90 hp) I have the same gearbox (CDY) as they mounted in the 1.9TDI and the gears are really long (3k rpm at 140 km/h). But you could also have CGT which is really short (3k rpm at 100 km/h).
@@matafix751 I had a CGT gearbox and had it changed with an AXG. I wanted a CDY but the Audi specialist recommended the AXG. It's just perfect for the ABT engine and I love it. You have enough power in every gear and the fuel consumption is significantly lower on the highway without having an extremely long gear ratio. The sound reduction is just perfect and a little bit dangerous. The faster you go on the highway the less engine sound you hear. You can whisper to eachother at 150+ km/h while with the CGT the engine was just screaming at 120+ km/h.
Also for people who want to learn how to maintain a car ;) I've decided to change the headgasket, timing belt and the auxiliary belts, crankshaft- and camshaft bearings, valveseals, every single other gasket on the engine, clean the head, valves and pistons, change a lot of hoses, radiator, heater core, shocks, brakes, brake lines and more. It's all very doable and foolproof. You have loads of space and it's simple engineering. I've never done a lot of those things before but it worked out perfectly fine😊

I wondered the same. I have a B4 2.0E here in the UK and feel like I need an extra gear once I hit 65 - 70mph. Great gearing for country lanes though.

the engine sounds good but either there is a bad wheel beearing or the tires are shit
