    I know you work hard and you’re a busy guy so I want to thank you for your videos. You helped inspire me to get to trapping. I just ordered a starter pack off Minnesota Trapline Products. Also some scent lures. And I got a dog proof too. I’m about to clean up my neck of the woods here in east Texas. Oh and while I got you, your intro is pretty awesome with the animals snarling. Can’t wait to walk up on my first catch. Thanks again.

    Dad’s a ol trapper from way back. He always taught me to set the dog at 3 o’clock. That way the back jaw doesn’t try to shoot the paw out like a slingshot. He said he gets less misses and less toe catches like that. You ever set any that way? Either way enjoy the videos… keep ‘em coming and tight chains!

      I’ve always set with my dog facing towards the set. Just how I’ve always done it, but I may have to try that. Thanks for the tip!

    Glad ya got twinkle toes, and in doing that you gave me a couple of great ideas for hopalong!!! Not had any sign of him on camera since I moved it up. Had a critter leave me a present right at the end of my driveway night before last so I left him a trench set today ;) Great info as always and I will be at the Classic!!

    Thoughts on “guarding the hole” with your traps?

    • @CarolinaCoyote
      @CarolinaCoyote  9 месяцев назад

      I’ve tried that, had more misses than I could count. Also watching the coyotes with the set, they’d be several inches away from the pan. I’ll never do it again

      Understand, Hoosier Trapping makes a compelling argument and speaking with the old timers thats how they used to do it until the set it back 8-10” took over. One old timer told me his catches went way down after he started moving them back. To each their own I reckon. Appreciate your feedback. Tight chains

    So, if it's good enough for one trap, it's good enough for three.😅
    Honestly, my first coyote catch was with traps set within a foot of each other.
