Hi. I was in Iceland and rented a Happy Campers. You guys are great to help with small and big issues. I want to come back again... and hope these tips are learned quickly.

Dont forget to explore other places than the main attractions! Love the Westfjords and the north east corner!

so it is not allowed to camp in iceland in the general traditional meaning ... cause i thought what if i get tired in the middle of the 12km long way to the next camp from landmanalaugar ... so i can't camp on the way .. i am forced by law to complete the 12km untill i reach the next campsite ... and don't tell me that this is not the right trekking trip for you and you have to choose something easier .. no .. sometimes your body can't stand walking more and you can't walk more than that for now ... so you have to camp where you are and then when you get better the next morning you will walk the targeted distance and may be more ... you'de better say camping is prohibited in iceland except from the following .. this and this and that ... so !! .... =/

Camping outside campsites in the National Park is definitely not allowed. If you are refering to the Laugavegur trail you are mandated to camp at the designated sites along that track. Frankly - if you can't manage a 12 km hike then maybe this isn't for you.
