I actually visited Rhodes as part of the 4-day Greek Island Cruise and spent a good 8 hours on the island. Seen a few tourist sites like The Palace of the Grand Master and a couple of beaches. I did enjoy the old town indeed
You forgot something: the Buterflies's valley. Its a forest in the northen part of Rhodes near the airport of the island. Its a really beautiful place where you can walk inside the forest. But the valley is famous because it has a special butterfly species where they are sitting on the trees. Its really amazing and magically. Worth to visit it
The public transport is not great, but you can be able to visit some of the places I mentioned by taking boats and tours, I explained more in this post travelwithmansoureh.com/blog/best-things-to-do-in-rhodes
