I totally agree. I haven’t been putting on any make up, including concealer for a week now. I’m proudly flashing my under “eye” shadows. Lol. And, Dr. Dray’s tip on applying moisturizer first before spf has made my skin texture look more supple. Why the hell wasn’t I told this from other MD’s????? 🤪

Speaking of skincare lines, have you looked at Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin’s skincare line yet?
I wish if my journey to, at least happier skin, lasted one month! It took me few years before I came to basics, the better understanding of ingredients (far from enough!), how is skin working and products my skin really needs. I was already using the products Andrea is definitely supporting (and using) and it made me feel good. Is there any other RUclips channel where you have the professional "going with us" to the stores, checking ingredients and stressing the difference between marketing/business side and skincare?! It is priceless. She is not promoting her products, business or that she wants to make money. She is aware of our weaknesses or vulnerabilities as consumers, but she also knows how important it is for prevention and those having chronic skin conditions. Not sure if many people in my area are watching her videos, but in the last 2 months CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion PM is almost impossible to find and since I started using that line, 3 years ago, it never happened?! :)))

That stuff is awful. I spent so much money on it and my skin never looked worse.

I just simply dont understand why so many people will not read labels. And if you dont recognize an ingredient, Paul's Choice has a Beauty website where it is very easy to look up an ingredient. It just makes me so sad that people are being totally exploited by those preying on vulnerabilities. Have been using the Cerave moisturizer and cleanser everyday and I’ve seen a huge difference in skin. I used to have Whitehead’s popping up everyday and now I get very little acne

I love these videos that you do in drugstores and stores just totally outing the gimmicky products haha! I appreciate this so much because I fall for packaging and "look" of products SO MUCH so hearing you go through the ingredients and sum it up into a whole alotta fragrance and no beneficial ingredients makes it easier for me to resist! :)

Yes in fragrance seems to lure me in even more if I like it. I don't wear perfume or anything like that but I was big with body creams from Victoria Secrets or Bath & Body Works and would even give them as Christmas gifts. My mom liked the peach and pear scent and once when she was in the hospital a nurse told me this is not really good for her skin. Was not moisturizing enough although it seemed very creamy. Go figure, I was duped.

I am one of those that fell for the Strivectin Neck Cream hype to find out that it doesn't do anything, in fact I think the skin on my neck looked creepier. I started using the Nivea hydrating body lotion and I can honestly say that the skin appears more moisturized and less crepey. XOXO

I loved this video! I watch a fair amount of beauty channels and am floored by how much money they spend on these high end skincare products that can't possibly do as much as they claim. I'm also aware that some vloggers receive products through promos. It's disappointing too that these more expensive cosmetics companies can't leave fragrances out of their products, especially those used on the face and/or around the eyes.

Dear Dr. Dray: I am a recent follower and just happened to stumble on to your vlogs etc.out of curiosity. You tell it like it is and I am learning so much and becoming more aware and proactive. During my teen years, I suffered from cystic acne when everyone else my age had gone through the pimple faze and I was clear skin. Early on treated for that early acne first starting out with an oral prescription- the standard Dermatologist treatment, then the next phase - washing with Dove soap and applying a topical cream prescribed by my local dermatologist later developing cystic acne, applying Retin-A wipes nightly so that my skin was in a constant state of pink inflammation and the Dermatologist even performing extractions.... Am glad for our next generations that medical research and testing have moved forward and beyond what I experienced. Your advice has radically improved my skin, changed my care routine and saved me bucks. Thank you so much for your on point reviews and advice. I'm an Esthetician and been in the beauty field for over 20 years. I'm talking managing counters at Dillards and Sephora management and now Walgreens. I am so glad I stumbled upon your vlogs. I am forever trying to find good skincare that isn't going to break the bank that I have been. I am so tired of shoving expensive products on people just to make a buck for the company. I am starting to use Vichy even though it is not all natural like I have been using as well. Thank you for your wealth of info. And can you suggest a good anti-aging line that wont break the bank or my face out please? I am 50 in a few months and at my wits end to the point of giving me anxiety.
i suggest no antiaging "line"...that stuff is all bunk and an epic waste...sunscreen is the only thin to focus on

Have wondered about the Philosophy skin care line, since many people have good things to say about the Purity Made Simple cleanser. Each to their own, I guess. Personally, I would much prefer investing in sunscreen. Thanks for continuing to educate and inform so many folks!.

I have better skin right now than with the doctor lines. I am thinking they might also put maybe just a little fragrance in their products to appeal better to the consumer. yeah fragrance is a sneaky ingredient, because essential oils are fragrance and are in many products labeled "fragrance free"

I go into the store and am blown away at some of the prices on items and for someone who is new to all this skin care and makeup stuff I'm clueless as to what is worth the money and what isn't, so thank you for doing these! There are so many products available with amazingly lavish claims. Companies play into the hopes & dreams of the public and our everlasting pursuit of youthful looks. It can really be overwhelming. And I agree, they are entrepreneurs-- with fascinating sales pitches that make us see stars, happiness, & supple, wrinkle-free skin in our future, Lol. Sometimes I buy products just to try something new, but often times I'm on a tight budget and I hate getting things that end up being super irritating or useless that im stuck using because I cant afford to get something else for a while.
