I took my girlfriend, now wife to this show, we were 19 and she was terrified when they came out lol. She loved it though and we ended up seeing them many times together over the years, including last year. We are 50 years old now and this show still stands out as one of the best live shows we have ever seen together.
Yes a lot of gay people in the world
Watching a bootleg video of early bungle always feels like I’m watching a snuff film. A bizarre one.
😂 I wasn’t sure why I felt a slight discomfort as I watched it. Then I read this and thought , Yup! That’s IT! I’m watching some Red Room shit!! 😂

8.1. Careless Whisper 37:51
Wheres Territorial Pissings? Lol I think I missed that one
1:07:42 "ya that's right, the doors are locked; fuck you, you can't leave"
god I love Mike's humor lol
Trevor Dunn is a fucking savant bass player!
He's amazing! What a sound!
Saw them around this time at the Anaheim convention center. The melvins opened and alot of the crowd disrespected them. When bungle came on they just stood there for 13 min. Flipping us off while the most destructive feedback i've ever heard filled the hall. So hundreds of "fans" left. Then the show started. It was incredible. 2 and a half hours of perfect chaos. Love these monsters.
They shouldnt have disrespected the melvins in the first place. Doesnt matter melvins or not, band like them put too much effort to be treated like that. From the wag i read it, that 13min feedback had a reason
How much I would pay to see The Melvins and Bungle together.

THE BEST BAND OF THE HISTORY
Agreed
Fuck yes
Naked City is the greatest, but Bungle is close
We were spoiled living in the Bay Area during the 80's, 90's as far as the music scene goes. We went to every Bungle show we could possibly go to, including this one. River Theater, Cotati Caberet, Cattle Club, The Ugly Clothes Parties, etc. By far some of the best Bungle shows I have seen were with Disciples Of Ed opening. You could feel it in the air at these shows. If you were at any of these early Bungle shows, you know you experienced something much more than a concert. You never knew what to expect, and every time they played it was like seeing them for the first time. I remember hearing about a party they were playing up in Cloverdale, when I was living in Tahoe. The party was the same day that I heard about it. We had no directions, just that it was in Cloverdale. 30 mins after hearing about the party we road tripped out to Cloverdale. We ran into some friends at the gas station that were going to the party as well. Shrooms in hand and then soon in mouth. Out in the middle of the woods in the hills, a very small stage was there. By far one of the best Bungle shows I have ever seen. Being super high on shrooms and watching Mr Bungle perform Super Mario Brothers in the middle of the woods was unreal.
Thats awesome. Wish I could have experienced that. Nice
Wow I actually found details to this show and there is even the poster for it which is hilarious as it has Bart Simpson on it. It has no directions on it but says "party starts at 6pm, music at 7pm. gates to the party will be locked at 8:30pm and will not be opened till sunrise. $8 donation - 8 kegs"

2nd Annual Ugly Clothes Party
Cloverdale, CA, USA
with Disciples of Ed, The Louies, Mason Lane
Back then drugs made everything sound so much better. I live across the country from CA and I’m probably much older than you (and you’ll probably never read this) but we could be describing an experience (mine was probably a decade earlier) we had that was much better only because of shrooms. 😂
@@rosebud6485 "Rose bud".....username confirms good drugs!
This comment is better than 99.9% of the best novels I’ve ever fucking read. I remember fellow traveler. Those were the best times and best shows ever
This is Patton and Mr Bungle at the height of their powers. I like their later stuff too, but it's hard to top the creativity, showmanship, and musicianship on display here. Just a perfectly executed and perfectly crafted setlist. The slow burn of the first quarter of the show leading up to Travolta is awesome, and from then on it's pure pandemonium.
agreed. also just the time frame when this is taken place is amazing as well. its april '92, the seattle scene is just getting red hot, metallica black album and GNR use your illusions albums are the biggest thing and here Patton and Bungle are in their own little weird world
i feel like if there was ever to see a bungle show it would have been this one
Omg, you can totally see that Mike was clearly an inspiration to Corey Taylor, unmistakable the way they carry themselves on the stage
an inspiration to him? well given that Corey pretty much stole his whole schtick from Patton/Bungle yeah you could probably say that :p
Bungle is those old horror and sci-fi b-movie classics like Re-animator, Slipknot is those meh horror remakes from the early 2000's like Dawn of the Dead and The Hills Have Eyes.
Don't fucking EVER mention that guy or is shit band in context with Mike or Bungle. You fucker......
Fuzzy Dunlop - Nice analogy, Reanimator & Mr Bungle are the cream of the crop in my book \m/
This was way before slipknot lmao
hats off to this camera person, knowing which musicians to zoom in on in certain parts.
This is absolute perfection. THIS is the Mr. Bungle I want back! (No discredit to Dave Lombardo or Scott Ian, but I really miss the keyboards and the saxophones.)
love danny's drumming during this era
Man dead goon is amazing live!
NOBLER THAN OEDIPUS!
Is one of the best songs from this guys. It's the perfect blend between selft-titled and disco volante.
I love of they all went nuts, that song is darker than any metal stuff
I was there! I was 15 years old and I was in the front row as always! Some of the best times of my life.
Jealous
See you soon 8 February 2020 San Francisco Warfield
Afortunado
Did they wear masks like this
Lucky one!
Trey's "wardrobe malfunction" or whatever during MY ASS IS ON FIRE is rather priceless.
Wish there was a soundboard recording of this show, if I were able to go back in time. This is the first place I'd go.
I think someone has it
This is why I love RUclips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Patton using nasal vocals in the Angel Dust era, site to behold.
Probably one of the last documented times!
Attended this show, what fun. The pit was intense, got thrown over the barrier three times I think. I also remember a part later on in the show where a stagediver ran right into the guitarist, they both fell into a heap, stagediver stood up and dove into the pit, then the guitarist stood up, dropped his guitar, clenched his fist, and dove into the pit after the guy.
atomjack My god that sounds amazing.
dude that whole last, what-half hour? 45 min? of this show was one of the most memorable and insane things i have ever been a witness to. my first Bungle show, and although i had listened to the album a zillion times, i really had no idea what to expect. to date one of my favorite shows. just completely off the chain in so many ways. and that part you mention when Trey chased after that stagediver will live forever in my mind...mike playing King Of The Mountain on the stack of mains...the outfits and masks...just the whole show was unreal.
I was there too, if you didn't get hurt you weren't in that pit... I got hurt pretty bad and had a splitting headache for the last half of the show... remember when they put Mike in a velvet bag and threw him into the pit? Telling everyone to beat him...
They do a fantastic job of playing their songs live. I remember hearing their album ages ago an thinking they couldnt possibly recreate the sounds this well.
lolz at 'no cameras' on the ticket stub - someone didn't listen... & aren't we all so grateful for that!
The 23 minute build up to Travolta is like nothing else I’ve seen. Incredible.
It seriously does not get any better than this.
I saw Bungle when they toured California. It was amazing but I mean damn I wish I could of seen the light sooner. This is sick!!!!!!
I like how they do random covers at their concerts everything from Nirvana to Morricone to freaking Mr. Rogers!!!!!! Truly a great eclectic bizarre band
I was at this show! I was about 3 feet away from Patton when he jumped into the crowd at the end...he smelled SO BAD! Too bad theres no Grotus footage.
Damn, I would've killed to get a whiff of Patton's sweet and pungent B.O. You lucky bastard

Masked Mr. Bungle is a sight to behold. It was probably youth as well, but feels like under a disguise, they could be a bit more lively on stage.
What an iconic performance. My lord
the amount of crowd participation/singing you can hear on this set is insane, genuinely had no clue that they had crowds that knew the songs that well at this time, and I'm sure this had to be a surprise or delight to them
Fucking LOVE THIS VIDEO! blows my mind that I was 12 years of age when this was recorded.
Great job to whoever recorded this.
I miss going to shows so bad. This was and is a GREAT FUCKING SHOW!
lol Right!? It’s not they walked in and recorded this on their phone.
I saw them several months later at the Primus New Years show at the civic center. To this day best show I’ve been to.
This just makes me soooooo happy. I thought these songs weren't really doable live. I'm wrong. So great
Best video on RUclips
Frank Zappa would love this.
The horn players are awesome lol
Thank you for upload this!
They _have_ to get this lineup together again. I love Dave Lombardo and Scott Ian (since before the first Bungle album came out) but they are not at all “Mr. Bungle”.
Being at least Bär McKinnon and Danny Heifetz back and play some old stuff. The songs in at this show deserve to be played live again. Especially’Dead Goon’, but the others as well.
what a treat for my ears really need this!!
For real thank you to the guy who filmed this piece of history 💜
so few views on such a masterpiece! we should award the genius who filmed this a Grammy, Oscar, Nobel prize, a million bucks!!... you are the man!!
The last 15 minutes was the coolest shit I’ve ever seen
i wish i could see the grotus footage as well. I saw this tour up in portland but yeah, that was like 30 years ago. thanks for uploading, this is dope.
THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! THE BEST SHIT EVER. Wish I could have seen that back in the day. Great sound and footage. I'll watch it again and again. THANK YOU
God I wish that I could have seen Bungle in the early 90s!!!! I only started going to their shows in the mid to late 90s. I'm still happy that I saw them as much as I did but... Damn! ❤️😘❤️
excellent share! very rar those concerts with good sound... you see now where Slipknot get there inspiration from ;-)
Just pure AWESOMNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any thank would be an unfulfillment....that is how great this stuff is!!!!!
Best high school band in the fucking universe!
Damn - THANK YOU for sharing this- I was fortunate to see them at The Howling Wolf in New Orleans around this period, so this is amazeballs to see again! I had seen the Club Lingerie concert on here (fucking phenomenal btw), but they were a little more polished by '92 here. This is VERY similar to the show I saw back in the day, so ty ty ty.
So cool was there with two close friends. Saw so many friends that night think it was a musicians night out. AWSOME to get to see this!
love the descent into chaos at the end. wish I could've seen these guys.
I saw this show....at the time, I wore my hair down to my ass...I stashed a tape recorder on a leash, around my neck and set the recorder under my hair...made it right past the “tap down” on the way in the door, and recorded the whole thing...this very concert left a lasting impression on me.
Absolute madman
Did you record this footage or did you record from a different angle?
@@modifidious No, I didn’t record this video…
@@jamess.7981 which one did you record?
@@modifidious I recorded only the audio of this specific show, on a cassette tape recorder in 1992…I did not record any video. I worshiped that audio recording for years…you can imagine how stoked I was to find the same exact show on RUclips, 25 years later…
This is one of the best things that has ever existed
absolutely incredible performance
I wonder how many Faith No More fans are there for sexy Mike Patton and are like, "WHAT THE FUCK."
I'd hope not alot. I saw this tour and had no idea who Mr. Bungle was. Instant fan, it's fucking fantistick
THIS BAND TAUGHT US TO THINK FOR OURSELFS AND ? AUTHORITY
Samuel Roth yea but look at him now !!! also he never quit bungle
Samuel Roth But epic is their worst song, he only wrote the lyrics. The later fnm stuff is actually amazing, but look up irony is a dead scene by Dillinger with him. He is at his most insane there.
Samuel Roth You aren't even close to what FNM really is. Check Jizzlobber, Matador, Cuckoo for Caca, Caffeine and every other song that is not their hit single Epic
Omg! I loved this version of "My Ass is On Fire" best one I have seen on here!
One of their best shows!
I had a bootleg of this show on VHS 20+ years ago and there was some weird flapping film sounds throughout. I thought it was the recording, but it must have been from the dubbing/copying of the VHS. This sounds tremendous and I am so happy to hear this stuff clearly after all of these years. This is just great!!
Patton was in your VCR. He follows. He intrudes. He does this because he loves us. Patton.
Goddammit I love this band!
This is how it’s done. Period.
These shows must have been absolutely crazy. Would have loved to have been there for this. Such a great setlist/performance.
STUNNING! got the VHS!
- Simply awesome -
One of the best shows ever!!!!
one of my favorite shows to date.
I got a tooth knocked out at this show. We actually went to this show because we couldn't get tickets for the Melvin's. 🤘🏼
Stick with it.. it should have 10 billion views. Fo' realzzz
Some of the best live vocals I've heard from this era.
this is a very good performance by mr bungle
probably the best live Travolta I've seen on video
saw this tour in Tampa, way ahead of their time!
Wow, that ending was Awesome!
I went to this show!
Alan Parsons Project. Tight. 🖤
The intro right before Travolta starts is truly amazing
Amazing

We were smoking it up in the balcony, - it was 420 afterall... i was there... got hurt in the pit too... great show, great memories... loved it when they threw him into the audience in a bag... I was scared for his safety... I also saw them at Slim's and The One Step Beyond in Santa Clara... I was so high... I remember during 'Time' they wouldn't play another tune until someone jumped on stage... but no one could get past the security... I liked it when the guitarist made his two gits have sex,,, funny... Ah, to be 17 again...
I was up there too on so much acid
Were they in masks

I love Squeeze Me Macaroni, but that slow version 👌🏻😩 its even better somehow
First time ever hearing this band. This must be where mushroomhead and korn got their main sound
That version of "The Stroke" should have been a #1 hit!

1:07:42 - "Yeah, that's right, the doors are locked. Fuck you, you can't leave."
1:08:40 - "We gonna keep playing until someone stage dives."
And MP said his favorite pastime is to sit around, drink tons of coffee and then crap himself. You can't believe anything said by an entertainer.
His favorite form of recreation is prob fukcing with interviewers and the public.
Saw this tour w/ Grotus in 92, Hallandale Bch Florida.
53:06 this scream had to be so loud in person
The masks and way they perform crack me the hell up. Guess I'm just a boring FNM fan mostly but I do love some of Pattons other performances. I love watching MP and think he's the best rock vocalist ever.
Ohhh yeah Grotus would be the icing on this cake!!
