Nobody ever talks about the Traveling Wilburys. Five incredible musicians in one band, having fun and writing brilliant music.. very underrated band, love them.
My favorite part of this video is how often George Harrison, for some reason, is holding back a massive grin. You can tell he was having such a great time, same for everyone in this video.
He is one of the nice guys:). I think it was same in the Beatles, only in the Beatles his nice attitiude was still covered by Ringo Starr absolute lightbulb of a person.
Agreed. But what if they put together a different supergroup--how about the lead guy from Wings, the head of the All-Starr band, the guy from the Plastic Ono Band, as well as either Nelson or Spike Wilbury. Not sure if that would've been anything, but might be worth considering.
Doesn’t matter how many times you listen to this you can’t help but smile, 😁 it’s fab . RIP Tom, George & Roy. Taken from us to soon. The world is poorer without you all. 😪😪
Yeah, even the end of the line video which paid tribute to Roy they managed to smile here and there. Loved how they saved his seat by putting his guitar in it.
One of the great things about this song. These guys were probably sitting in a room just jamming around, maybe even a bottle of Jack going around. They probably threw this song together in about 10 minutes, ran through it a few times, and put it on the album. This speaks to the legend-level talent and professionalism of these four men. May their music, and therefore their memories, never fade.
"May their music, and therefore their memories, never fade" ? Send this and other Wilbury music to friends, people you know... music is made to be heard - give other people the chance to hear it!
From what I've read about the Wilburys is pretty much that. When you're at the level these guys are at, you don't agonize for hours or days of studio time, especially since it was Dylans home studio
I think that not so many great songs come from flashy dancers; they have to dance flashily to cover up the fact that their songs aren't really all that good (generally speaking -- always exceptions).
In the 60s so many American kids found the Beatles to be revolutionary and inspiring ! Tom Hanks comes to mind, watch some of his movies and you will find Beatles references, subtle or direct, such as Forest Gump !
@Pebbles Flintstone what the hell are you talking about? did you listen to abbey road? this is the greatest rock album ever! under the influence of the Beatles, a lot of rock bands appeared, this is a fact
He was actually MORE excited to be working with Roy Orbison. Tom said in an interview they were all giggling like teenagers when Roy agreed to join them in the band
Congratulations to Jeff Lynne on joining the Songwriters Hall of Fame! George, Tom & Roy are cheering in heaven & I hear "it's about damn time". Pretty sure Bob is happy for you, too. Music video to follow to share the blend of these amazing, talented artists in their "supergroup" aka 5 guys just jammin' together 💖!
Thanks for your love, and support all through this times, it's been a wonderful feeling performing for my fans around the world. Though I rarely comment here on my RUclips pages, I was attracted by the emotions in your comment. I'll like we get along and keep in touch, if it's okay by you. Where are you streaming from?
I was reading a Led Zeppelin comment on D'yer Mak'er about a dog and it lead me to this song. I never knew these 5 famous musicians played together. BOB DYLAN, GEORGE HARRISON, JEFF LYNNE, ROY ORBISON AND TOM PETTY. Nice job
It was a "magical" group or musical class and royalty! But then again they all grew up together, were best friends, which made the magic happen so easy...RIP fellas, my 13 year old is trying to emulate your creativity with a piano and a guitar.....live on!
It doesn't get any better than this five brilliant figures of legendry music it's heartbreaking that george harrison And Roy orbison are sadly no longer around this band could've gone on for a long time
Truly the greatest band ever. Miss Roy Tom George and John Candy so very much. Jim Keltner pure class. If you don't like the Wilbury 's you're not worth knowing Sorry.
Its great to come to a point in life when its no longer for the love of money, status, security, or fame. It's for the love of what you have done your whole life and doing it with only those around you who make you happy. I'm not on the level of them financially or talent, but as an old guy I understand it and pursue it my own way. For those who don't underwent this? You will......
Some of our greatest musicians ever...just havin fun !!! No contracts...no timelines...nothing to keep them from having fun... !!! What a FANTASTIC GROUP of the BEST of the BEST EVER !!
you can tell they made their music for the pure enjoyment of it all and not for the money. My only disappointment is that the drummer Jim Keltner didn't get more recognition.
I'm even more disappointed that the saxophone player in the video, Jim Horn, gets NO recognition here. He's as much a legend as anyone else in the room.
Jeff Lynne said they asked him to be a Wilbury but he refused. He wanted to be in the background and the others to be the focus. So he's Buster Sidebury.
So much talent fully on display ; even the drummer is enjoying himself ….. if this little offering doesn’t get you moving or at least tapping your feet , there is definitely something wrong . Miss them so much . PA , Melbourne , Australia .
George Martin john candy was very young and he died from a bad heart just like his father had John was born with the same heart problem ever heard if karma so plz stop running ur mouth stop running your mouth
The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were an English-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. Originating from an idea discussed by Harrison and Lynne during the sessions for Harrison's 1987 album Cloud Nine, the band formed in April 1988 after the five members united to record a bonus track for Harrison's next European single. When this collaboration, "Handle with Care", was deemed too good for such a limited release, the group agreed to record a full album, titled Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1. Following Orbison's death in December 1988, the band released a second album, which they titled Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3, in 1990.
Bob’s change of pace into the chorus coming in from the low, with “Better not forget it on your shopping list.” is such a cool *twist* from everyone else’s. What a song.
Something we took for granted then, a group of talented musicians with nothing to prove to each other or us. Cant see this ever happening again mores the pity
Awesome to see the late Tom Petty and the late George Harrison singing together. Hope their rockin like this in Heaven 😢
A great example of Anglo American success
They are. I've requested tickets too wherever they are rockin'. Me and the dogs, front row.
Don't forget Roy!
Nobody ever talks about the Traveling Wilburys. Five incredible musicians in one band, having fun and writing brilliant music.. very underrated band, love them.
What I would give to be able to watch this live today
@@ronaevans6832 Me too!!

Absolutely. Beats the pants off the beginning of the Get Back documentary!!!
sure things friend, how are you doing?
He is one of the nice guys:). I think it was same in the Beatles, only in the Beatles his nice attitiude was still covered by Ringo Starr absolute lightbulb of a person.
Thats cause it was his idea and his band. ( And always his band according to TP.)
What do you mean,, HE IS NOT holding his grin back at all..😂
I never knew John Candy was in the video. A brilliant actor. I watched Uncle Buck again and have a deeper appreciation. Love the Traveling Wilburys.
Eric idle?
This is the only supergroup I've ever thought was a supergroup. OMG they were GREAT
Great drummer Jim Keltner too. Those guys had pull.
Agreed. But what if they put together a different supergroup--how about the lead guy from Wings, the head of the All-Starr band, the guy from the Plastic Ono Band, as well as either Nelson or Spike Wilbury. Not sure if that would've been anything, but might be worth considering.

Too soon? They went when they were supposed to go
@@davidcarney1827 too soon for us!
Agree, I miss 1/2 of them either they were stoned or just being silly.
The good DO die young!😢
we will never ever get a band line up like this ever again they was fab
Especially when they all worked together, made great music, had a lot of fun and NO egos interfering! Love these guys!!
Roy, George, Tom, Bob and Jeff. Fantastic musicians. Forever. 💖♥️❤️💓💕

Condolences & love from a Harrison fan. ❤❤❤
Fantastic. Such a shame only Bob Dlyan and Jeff Lynne are still alive.
Ain't it a pity?
What a rare mix of talent, wit, humor and rock and roll. Will not be repeated ever again.
in every video you can see they were having fun
playing together
Yeah, even the end of the line video which paid tribute to Roy they managed to smile here and there. Loved how they saved his seat by putting his guitar in it.
Recording sessions must have been a blast. Wouldn't you love to have been a fly on the wall?
Love it! If only Roy, George and Tom did not have a new adventure to go to, leaving us behind, in sorrow. I loved these guys.
This group had MORE TALENT in their little fingers than the ENTIRE TODAY'S, what is laughingly called, Music Industry, has dreamt of having.
I agree but we shouldn't say SO
Darn Tootin'.

They are in rock and roll heaven
Don't forget about John.
Why did it have to be the 3 I liked the most?
The best rockers
Tom, Roy and George are so badly missed...
What I loved about The Travelling Wilburys was that they didn't need flashy dancers to deliver a great song. They were wonderful by themselves!😃👍
I think that not so many great songs come from flashy dancers; they have to dance flashily to cover up the fact that their songs aren't really all that good (generally speaking -- always exceptions).
Jeff Lynne is the best overall musician ever! And a fantastic producer.
@Frank Lopez Are you new?

A band made from heaven

Tom loved the Beatles dearly so it must have been a real blast to record with George. RIP Tom, George and Roy.
So did Jeff Lynne
