If you use a spray bottle of vinegar to spritz your piece as you go it'll make the wrinkles iron out with one pass. Also makes corners and edges really sharp. It won't smell like vinegar for more than a few minutes. Also linen irons smoother if you iron it damp. Wash, let it hang til it's almost dry and iron. My grandmother taught me to iron, she supported her family ironing.

I love sondeflor, but their sizing is SO much smaller than average waist measurements. I'm a 2x for skirts pretty much anywhere I go, but the sondeflor 2x measurements are about 8 inches smaller than average. I don't mind "sizing up", but even their 4x is still way undersized, and there's currently only one skirt that's even offered in 4x. But you need to have a waist that's around 37" -- for 4x! I really wish they would offer more inclusive sizing. They'd get my money in a heartbeat. Until then, I'll keep trying to get better at sewing my own skirts with quality fabrics.

It's linen, woven on a loom.. only clip and tear.. then it perfectly on the grain.. Beforhand, clean-up your selvage first, then pull your corners both sides.. no need to cut.. 1st thing with any project wash & dry your linen beforehand for shrinkage. Spray starch and iron your big piece of line... now you are ready to measure, clip & rip..
    Iron your pieces and sew.

The timing of this is so funny; I have been making some chemise and decided to use left over linen to make an apron. And in the process of making it, I decided to embroider some flowers onto the pockets. It's still in progress, but makes me happy each time I look at it. The embroidery didn't take very long as I kept it very simple and just traced a rose lineart from the internet. I love that I could colour match to one of my dresses that doesn't have pockets, but it will go well with any of my other clothes in general.

I love how pleased you are with you make. It’s so beautiful and you’re really showing off the joy of making things just for yourself that will last, and that you can be proud of. About Son de Flor, I think it’s important to note that that is what clothes really cost when things are made well and workers are compensated honestly. The fast fashion brands cheat the workers all along the way from those harvesting raw materials to the garment workers. And we have such a distorted understanding now of how much clothes should cost. I love Hayley Marie’s cost breakdowns cause they show what the work of sewing costs - and of course it would be less if it were a factory- even a union one- than a personal seamstress but that’s all good to remember when we save up for or sit down to sew pieces we cherish.

Oh my goodness! You in the field in your beautiful green dress. With that glorious hair and a ribbon in it doing you little spins, you could not be more beautiful my dear.
And I agree with you. Let's all make our own aprons! Yes!! I love this style.❤

I have a slightly random question but not sure if I should type it here or email??? I’m not very good at checking my emails so I’ll just decide now that I typed the before but that I’ll type out my question here. 😂
I am currently pregnant with baby number 11 and I also live in Australia but I have been struggling with….clothes. I just wear black leggings and one of 3 maternity tshirts but MAN it’s hard seeing other pregnant women online looking so glamorous and feminine. Have you done any videos of what you wore when pregnant? Or do you have advice on what to do/wear?
I hope this has made some kinda sense.
    I’m a new viewer.
You also have me wanting to make an apron as well 😆
    Thank you.
    Katherine

This looks like such a fun project!! Thanks for sharing! Definitely going to attempt this ❤️
I too am ready for fall! I do love summer but this heat has run it's course, in my opinion 😂
    Happy sewing!

This is so adorable. I am a newbie at sewing and I have yet to try my hand at embroidery. This would be so fun to try. And, I actually found some material at the thrift store that would be perfect.
And, by the way. I'm with you on hating summer. I live in Southern Nevada. And summer temperatures get up to 120°F. Sometimes higher. It's June now and hotter than usual. I'm already counting down the minutes till Autumn.

What a handsome orange Norwegian Forest Cat you have! We had ours for 18 wonderful years.

Thank you so much for making this video! Not only for the culturing on Shein but I love your apron and it’s not made for a skinny girl! (I can fit the smallest size in plus or the higher end of “normal” & Im 6”2 just to make things more difficult 😂). Clothes have never fit properly so Im taking up sewing to make my dream wardrobe.
Because Im so new to sewing I keep stressing about needing the exact correct measurements(with seam allowance) for my apron pieces. But your tutorial has helped me stop stressing and given me the confidence I can do this. Thank you for your hard work! 😊💖

Summer in the coastal Pacific NW is glorious (where I'm from), but summer in Phoenix (where I am) is absolutely h.e.l.l. ...only thing I can imagine being worse is heat with humidity.
Such a cute apron. Thanks for sharing the process with us. 😊

This is so beautiful! I loved the moment where your daughter praised you for choosing the pink pin. Too adorable!!!
I also recently made myself a linen apron and I plan to add embroidery. My original plan was a dandelion with wishes blowing off but I’m kind of in love with your mushrooms and wildflowers and may take mine in a similar direction instead now. I never would have thought of embroidering mushrooms but they’re just so pretty!
And finally, THANK YOU for that clip of Kristina vs the Blackberries at the end. I laughed so hard! We’ve all been there where something you imagined as romantic and ideal turns difficult. I loved your music choice there too. Perfect!

I absolutely love the green dress, the oh so pretty headband, and the pin on your lapel. And you're looking even more beautiful since you had the baby. Wonderful choice of material, embroidery and the best apron I've seen this season. If I could, I would want to wear an apron every possible chance. That's how much I love the look.
