This was very helpful. Do you have any ideas on how to repair the smaller chain when it breaks somewhere in the middle of the chain?
Same mines broke into 2 pieces from the middle
Me too
Sem
I took one of the little rings off, bent it open with my fingernail, picked it up with pliers, hooked both sides back into the ring and closed it up
This recently happened to me and I popped a staple right where it broke works like a charm
Wow!! I was actually able to fix my teenage daughters gold chain that has been broken for at least 6 months now. I just can't believe it's actually fixed and I was able to do it at home. Thank you so much for posting this how to video... I'm so incredibly grateful!
For anyone that doesn't have nose pliers like that you can use a large nail clipper to grasp the outside of the link and squeeze it back together when the lobster or next link is threaded inside it.
I also recommend squeezing the ends together on the other rotation after the links are closed to ensure they are touching each other on the sides as well.
I just got this really nice chain and the spring on the lock broke the wire is just hanging out, PLZ I need help, I’m desperate
Are you a member of our Facebook group for Beading and Jewelery Making? If you can post some photos there, we'll be able to see the problem and come up with some ideas.
what a great video, I was able to fix 1 of my favorite necklaces today!!! thank you so much!!! 👍👍
Thank you for sharing this with us, Jerz. Enjoy beading!
This is exactly what I was looking for
Can you help me I have a 14KT chain and the links in the middle of the chain came off and the clasp I need help with can I contact you somehow? Just for some help
What a helpful video. I hope you put great tags on this video so people can find it. I agree that with your great reaching it is accessible to so many people even if their jewelry skills aren’t that great.
You can also fix it with a guitar/ukulele string just saying

This demo is absolutely brilliant - thank you! I am about to begin to attempt to fix/repair and create jewellery and had no idea but this is wonderful! 👍🏻
Harder then it looks but I accomplishhed it. Two different fixes.
I really need help too with a broken chain clasp, could you accept me into the Facebook group so I could maybe show yall some pics?
Just search Facebook for Beading and Jewellery Making (hosted by Potomac Beads) and request to join. 😃
idk how it broke but mine does have a gap or anything and i wore it for 24 hours im sad
I really hope this works bc a necklace that my grandma saved, that died in 2016 I broke.
If you have any problems, just email us a photo of the breakage and ask for help. Some of the finer chains can be tricky to repair.
What if you don’t have bendy pliers
Do you have any ideas on how to repair the smaller chain to my necklace actually its gold necklace but it came out the lock after I wear to my neck and I dont know how to put it back?
If you can fit a piece of 24ga wire into the link, you could add a wrapped loop with a gold seed bead then add the clasp. Otherwise, you might have to replace the chain.
Have a look at item #7 for the idea I'm talking about. Just the one seed bead between your last chain link and the clasp.

Can you show How to fix a 2 broken pieces necklace??? I need to have a totourl on how to fix them Please???
You just use the same method with the figure eight links. I once took a broken chain to the jeweller's myself years ago, to ask him to repair it, but he said there was no way he could do it because the links were too tiny. This goes for most fine chains, but being beaders, we are a little more adventurous and willing to adapt to the situation. The repairs are always going to be visible, but with a little creativity, you can make it part of the design. If someone asks about it, you can tell them your chain broke and so you got creative! Hapoy beading!
Kay Thanks tho
I just fixed my rope chain with floss
Very helpful. I was able to fix a petite cross chain my grandaughter gave me years ago. Thanks.

I slept with my 14karat gold chain and it’s thin and it broke would this work didn’t really watch all the way through
If your chain has big enough links to fit a 24 or 26 gauge wire through it, then you should be able to fix it. If your chain broke in the front or side area of the neck, you can make a link using some cute seed beads or crystals on a piece of 24 or 26 gauge wire and attach it to your chain and secure it doing wired wraps. If it broke toward the back where the clasp is, you can do the same with a plain piece of wire, no need to add beads if its in the back.
Excellent video!
What about when the chain breaks but not at the clasp and is it hard to find 14k gold and sterling silver findings?
Many of the finer chains can't be repaired because the links are too complex.
And I just broke my chain and I managed to fix it with nail clippers that were used as pliers to fix them since I don’t have pliers I managed to make them work (LIFE HACK)?
