When this song speaks to you so deeply , and you realize that you have hurt the most meaningful person in your life by being emotionally unavailable and distant
This song speaks directly to me because I pushed away the love of my life by not being the man she fell In live with anymore... I knew I was doing it and yet I still kept being unavailable emotionally. I thought we would work through it but sadly 8 years isn’t long enough to keep a women if you a piece of shit
@@davidyorks5272 I have the same story except it was reverse rolls my ex was emotionally unstable when she was around me she was 19 and I was 29 she had brought up stuff about her past but never looked at me as being the love of her life she was mine how ever! Her mom and her dad where absent parents and I was the most stable person in her life she also lied about having a sexual relationship with a guy from Texas that came up to Michigan I hoped things would change if I stayed but things only escalated and got worse in the final nail in the coffin was in April 2020 when After a hole year of being a thing she called me and said she needed money and I had already paid her to buy my phone a 200 Dollar punchers but she wanted more money and called me on my phone to beg me for more money and I said no and goodbye before I hung up the phone she then called me cold in a text message

I’ll never forget this song, coming back from deployment in Iraq, blasting this song in Germany thinking of the friends we lost, trying to drink the war away, thank you for making music that captured how we felt.
It’s really strange and incredible how a song that you once jammed out to…and which filled you with so much energy…All these years later, can stop you in your tracks and overwhelm you with sadness and longing for the times and the people you can never get back in this life…

As black kid back when it was looked down upon to listen to rock / alternative music, this is one of the songs that have broken the mold for me and I haven't looked back since .The songs hits different when it is one of the reasons why I have different tastes in music.
RIGHT there with you! i was the "weird" black chick who lisened to SOAD and RHCP and wore all black and combat boots....wouldnt trade it though that music was awesome lol
Its like a metaphor. He understands and knows that what he is doing is wrong and he is sorry for that.. it's like when your addicted to a drug. You feel bad your doing this thing that you can't stop. He was aware that what he was doing was hurting her, he than felt bad and regretted it later on, and is sorry for the way he is. He never meant to be so cold. Lmao. You know when your just in that angry mindset or just having one of those days and than when your not feeling like that you look back and don't even know why you were like that in the first place or you regretted doing something while feeling like that. It's like that man.
I don't know if you guys will see this but this song helped me grieve for a very long time. My high school sweetheart and I broke up over 10 years ago after being together for years. It was such a heart aching break up that we wouldn't talk but every other week, and so I kept listening to this song throughout that time. One day I wrote these lyrics down in a card and sent it to her. And to this day I still give myself a chance to grieve when I hear this song. I know that we were better off not being together but a lot of tears were shed over her and you are but a product of your own experiences. Remember that and be good yall
This song is forever embedded in my brain. I was in Iraq, and the checkpoint before us was blown to pieces. I was the TC and my gunner was singing this song. My gunner stopped for a second then continued the song. This goes to show how war changes a person.
I remember jamming to this back when I was 16. Now I'm in my 30s. Two good friends from back then are now dead. But the good memories will never die. RIP Joe and Stacy ♥.
That's a crazy coincidence, I listen to this when I was around 16, I'm 34 now and I lost a friend named Joey and a friend named Stacy. Anyways, losing good friends is tough so R.I.P Joe and Stacy!
to all the next generations who's gonna watch this and listen to it and enjoy it..just remember we were young and full of life as you..enjoyed the same things like how u gonna enjoy it :))
2019 and i still love this song. i miss good music, and those times. the lyrics always made me feel some type of way but now at 29, the lyrics have so much more feeling and understanding. so good
I still love it at 41. Late 90’s - early 2000’s was the high point of music for me. Now the local “rock” stations play 80’s rock or the new “music” that that thinks it’s rock, but it’s just noise made for soothing hipsters. Just my opinion. Maybe I’m just getting old lol
its like u read my mind. I just turned 29 last month. makes me wanna cry when I hear it now and not b/c of sum dumb high school bf that don't mean shit now but b/c of shit that's happened since then in the 'real world'. if that makes sense.

Looking back at me, I see that I never really got it right
I never stopped to think of you
I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win
You are the antidote that gets me by
Somethin' strong, like a drug, that gets me high
What I really meant to say

I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so
Cold to you, I'm sorry 'bout all the lies
Maybe in a different light
You can see me stand on my own again
'Cause now I can see
You are the antidote that got me by
Somethin' strong, like a drug, that got me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
I never meant to be so cold
I never really wanted you to see
The screwed up side of me that I keep
Locked inside of me so deep
It always seems to get to me
I never really wanted you to go
So many things you should have known
I guess for me there's just no hope
I never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say

When this song speaks to you so deeply , and you realize that you have hurt the most meaningful person in your life by being emotionally unavailable and distant
damn maria you out hear speaking facts wtf.
This song speaks directly to me because I pushed away the love of my life by not being the man she fell In live with anymore... I knew I was doing it and yet I still kept being unavailable emotionally. I thought we would work through it but sadly 8 years isn’t long enough to keep a women if you a piece of shit
Story of my life
@@davidyorks5272 don't worry brother. I was the same way. I feel you
@@davidyorks5272 I have the same story except it was reverse rolls my ex was emotionally unstable when she was around me she was 19 and I was 29 she had brought up stuff about her past but never looked at me as being the love of her life she was mine how ever!
17 years have passed and this song still hits me the same way. Takes me back to the early days of high school. This album got me through so much pain
Lol
GUESS WHOS COMING BACK BABY!!
Listen to this several times a day. I'm 57 and this still hits me in the hear and gives me goosebumps ❤
It's a bittersweet/poetic slap for me knowing gems like these will far outlive us all
59 an same ✌️
So true listening to it right now
50 and same

my husband introduced a lot of music to me. i lived under a rock, although i think i heard this as a kid, most songs i wouldn't know the name of. good thing i have a husband with good taste in music
My hubby introduced this to me also!
An old favorite.
Can't believe 10 years just flew by OR that we had such good music back then, unlike today...
If you don't think there's any good music today, you're not looking very hard.
reNINTENDO
Sorry, but you won't hear this kind of the stuff on the radio anymore...internet? Sure, all day long.
apexdna I agree... Music 10 years ago was so much better then the popular crap they play today
Well. would you want to spend your time remembering all the bad songs? Or would you remember the songs _YOU_ like?
I just like the songs more from the past from the 2000s to the 80s more than today's music
20 years old and still slaps........
Damn right
I’ll never forget this song, coming back from deployment in Iraq, blasting this song in Germany thinking of the friends we lost, trying to drink the war away, thank you for making music that captured how we felt.
from the bottom of my heart..thank you for your service!!
As a fellow vet, navy, I truly hope you and your "brothers" are hanging in there. God bless you.
My brother was deployed in Iraq. From this Army sister, thank you for your service.
HooYah
My prayers are with you!!! Stay strong!!! God Bless You!!!👊✝️😇🙌🕊🙏👑
It’s really strange and incredible how a song that you once jammed out to…and which filled you with so much energy…All these years later, can stop you in your tracks and overwhelm you with sadness and longing for the times and the people you can never get back in this life…
Well said emotion. Well expressed. Speaking from Heart.thank you
Remember listening to this on my psp from a demo music disc. Good times
Robertito OG I miss those days my man.
Exactly the same here.
Yes!
Bruh, you too!?

When he’s ripping the solo and just looks like he doesn’t even care….. we’ve all been there!🤘🏻those cords were soul touching
As black kid back when it was looked down upon to listen to rock / alternative music, this is one of the songs that have broken the mold for me and I haven't looked back since .The songs hits different when it is one of the reasons why I have different tastes in music.
SALUTE
🔥🙏
Hard rock and metal is for everyone my friend
RIGHT there with you! i was the "weird" black chick who lisened to SOAD and RHCP and wore all black and combat boots....wouldnt trade it though that music was awesome lol
Same here black & proud and alt music was my favorite odd kid in the family
I'm 22, and I just realized how much I miss listening to this when I was 10
Still hits the same!
I'm 21, and it's the same for me. Great thing is we can hit replay to experience it again.
🤘 Memories 🤘
You crazy Kid - but a very cool answer ✌☻☮
I’m 28 and remember listening to this in 2004 on the radio. Wonder if the world has just forgotten about this kind of musics. It’s wild…
Child
This song was on one of my favorite games on the Xbox as a kid, MX Unleashed, shit still hit like it did back then
4 Beers deep ,at a Bar and this banger comes on . Every 40 yr plus man singing it .

This guy ain’t no SIMP. She came to him and he was like “girl can’t you see im doing a solo right now get out of here” absolute legend
What a mad man 👏👏
This comment made me physically cringe. The word simp is so overused at this point.
Lol, ultimate alpha
The song is an apology.
Missing the point of the song. No surprise.
Love when he's all up in her face playing that solo, then turns away -- at THAT particular moment he definitely meant to be so cold LMFAO
Lmfaoooo
Its like a metaphor. He understands and knows that what he is doing is wrong and he is sorry for that.. it's like when your addicted to a drug. You feel bad your doing this thing that you can't stop. He was aware that what he was doing was hurting her, he than felt bad and regretted it later on, and is sorry for the way he is. He never meant to be so cold. Lmao. You know when your just in that angry mindset or just having one of those days and than when your not feeling like that you look back and don't even know why you were like that in the first place or you regretted doing something while feeling like that. It's like that man.
It’s a solo not a riff 🤷🏻♂️
Hell ya he did
@@codybaldwin7253 i clarified that for you ;-)
AND THEY ARE BACK!!!
I feel u man break ups are the freaking worst
💯💯
Stay strong bro.🙏
surrender & survive this hit different. Never lose hope
❤️
I can never get sick of this song...that vibe you get when music was music ❤❤❤
Gina Campbell gorgeous girl🔥🔥
I agree 1000% music isnt what it use to be plus this song has a good meaning almost everyone can relate to it I love it lol
I saw crossfade at edgefest in Albuquerque on a side stage. An Awesome memory
Yeah you are right about the music was much better than the music is now. And that's coming from a rock and roll fan that is a black man 🤨
This song is fire
I will never get tired of this song

They're Back!!!!
This song is forever embedded in my brain. I was in Iraq, and the checkpoint before us was blown to pieces. I was the TC and my gunner was singing this song. My gunner stopped for a second then continued the song. This goes to show how war changes a person.
Thank you for your service Kyle..
😪
When were you in Iraq? I was in Baghdad in 06. Thanks for you service brother!
@@kittyimeow I was there from 07-08 then 09-10
@@Tacos_Paco I had just missed you then! Thanks for replying!
I remember jamming to this back when I was 16. Now I'm in my 30s. Two good friends from back then are now dead. But the good memories will never die. RIP Joe and Stacy ♥.
I'm sorry for your loss 💔 sending love your way.... May you feel them hug you every time you hear this song ❤️🥰
🙏
I'm 45 and it still kicks ass. Sorry for your loss.
In my 40's now, crazy how some of the people I planned on being around forever aren't here anymore.
The instrumental flows with the lyrics so beautifully
2019 and i still love this song. i miss good music, and those times. the lyrics always made me feel some type of way but now at 29, the lyrics have so much more feeling and understanding.
so good
That's wonderful I'm 24 years old and music is a lot better and understanding
I'm 33 and feel the same way as you.
@@constitutionalrepublican1611 wonderful
I still love it at 41. Late 90’s - early 2000’s was the high point of music for me. Now the local “rock” stations play 80’s rock or the new “music” that that thinks it’s rock, but it’s just noise made for soothing hipsters. Just my opinion. Maybe I’m just getting old lol
its like u read my mind. I just turned 29 last month. makes me wanna cry when I hear it now and not b/c of sum dumb high school bf that don't mean shit now but b/c of shit that's happened since then in the 'real world'. if that makes sense.
The guitar break in this song, is everything!!
Amen ❤️❤️❤️
Can't agree more. Simple yet Tasty.
the guitar solo just hits differently
Your 40th like 👊🏼
"I never really wanted you to see the screwed up side of me that I keep, locked inside of me so deep" hits me so hard 😭
Same.
When I graduated rehab, this was my graduation song. 10 years drug free and this song still helps me. Such powerful lyrics.
I rewind that part about 10 times every time I listen to this song!

I hear ya. I miss the music from high school and my early 20s. We grew up with some great tunes.
my sentiments exactly
When I was a teenager I downloaded this on my grandpas Nokia as a ringtone. I thought he would be mad because it cost like $5 but he actually kept it because it was the only one he could hear lol

Lol the reason I came back to it, smh.
I find the emotional honesty of this song incredibly refreshing.
Why does this hit so hard...like man how real can it get??

This song just fills you with emotion from a past relationship im sure a lot of us here can relate to or are going through right now. Hold on things will get better. 🤘🏻🦋

Mee!
I’m so glad Crossfade is getting back together. Crossfade was a big part of my childhood and teenage years, always heard it on the radio, always knew all the lyrics to this song as a kid, even though I didn’t know the meaning.
Being cold was easy. Now I'm in my mid thirties and got slapped in the face with emotions I never new existed. Being human is hard work. Love hate love

Can’t get enough of this song, simply amazing !
HELL YEAH GLAD TO HAVE CROSSFADE BACK!!!
Looking back at me I see that
I never really got it right
I never stopped to think of you,
I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win
You are the antidote that gets me by,
Something strong like a drug that gets me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so
Cold to you, I'm sorry about all the lies,
Maybe in a different light,
You can see me stand on my own again
Cause now I can see
You are the antidote that got me by,
Something strong like a drug that got me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
I never meant to be, so cold
I never really wanted you to see
The screwed-up side of me
That I keep locked inside of me so deep,
It always seems to get to me
I never really wanted you to go
So many things you should have known
I guess for me there's just no hope;
I never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am (Is I'm sorry for the way)
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold... .. 😐😐😐
