RIP Burt. A true pop genius if there ever was one
What an amazing songwriter Burt was. He leaves behind an immensely brilliant catalogue.
He wrote the melodies, David fit the lyrics seamlessly.
So sad when a legend in the entertainment industry leaves this earth 😢

Just watched this and went off to investigate Burt's history... I didn't realize he had died today. So sad.. But to me he was the sound of the 1960's. "The Look of Love" is so definitely the ultimate love song of the 60's and demonstrates how he composes his melodies as he describes in this BBC clip. So much emotion built into each tune.
Rest in paradise Mr. Bacharach!!!!! You were seemingly a sweet spirited, genuine person, with a beautiful warm, sincere, heartfelt smile!!!!!!!! You are indelibly etched in our hearts, with the wonderful gifts that you have bestowed upon the music industry!!!!! Thank you Burt Bacharach, you were a phenomenal composer, a Blessing to the art of music!!!!!!

Have loved this man's songs for over 60 years or so...I must have been all of 6 when I first heard his "Magic Moments" sung by Perry Como, on his weekly variety show I believe it was on NBC? My late mother always told me I was mesmerized by singers and their songs on variety shows back in the day. God Bless Burt, thank you Jesus for allowing us to hear this talented mans creation of music!!

The names Bacharach and David were synonymous with popular music for so many years from the 1960s onwards. Both gone now but the songs will remain classics of 20th century pop.

Dude handled that passive aggressive interviewer, with sincerity and passion. Legend..
Too many people class his music as “easy listening”, but if you’ve tried to transcribe those chord changes, you quickly learn how complex they can be.
Also, just try singing “What’s It All About, Alfie?” -- is there a more intricate melody around?
Burt Bacharach's songs were the magical part of the soundtrack of my youth. Always so grateful to have grown up in the 60's with all the amazing music of the era.
Burts Hitmaker album was recorded in London, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were on it, also The Breakaways provided vocals.

When I was younger, I tried to do a crossword puzzle.
One of the clues was “Burt ___” and it was nine letters.
My mind jumped to, you guessed it, Burt Bacharach. So I wrote “Bacharach”.
In PEN. You know, permanent.
The correct answer was “Lancaster”. So I had to break out the Wite-Out.
I’m still ashamed of myself. 🤦♀️
