- Giselle is a classic romantic ballet. The main idea of the ballet, undoubtedly − love. Love, which was a sublime self-sacrifice in the beginning of the way and becoming aware of his irresistible force in the final. Ballet Giselle was established on the basis of the old poetic legend about the Wilis. Wilis called the bride, who died before the wedding. The action of the ballet is in one village. Gisele − peasant girl − falls in love with Albert, who, as she thought, was a simple peasant. But, having learned that he was dressed as a gentleman and he has a bride, She goes mad and dies. But this is not the end...

Few years ago I knew about 'Giselle' because series 'Angel last mission: Love', and I fell in love with the story about Giselle and the amazing work of the actress. And now the full ballet! Is just woow!

That's not the story... from what I know he actually liked her but didn't want her to know that he was rich because he wanted to see how she really was. Still, his decisions weren't the best that's why we think he is a player. But he's not in love with the woman he is supposed to marry
@AnnaForestier I still call him a player because he posed as a man who could be Giselle's fiancee when he was already a fiancee to another woman.

Gorgeous performance of excellent dancing and music. But the story of Giselle is oh, so sad. I absolutely loved the realistic acting and the choreography! WOW! :-)))
Attractive youthful cast nice to see diverse body types the leads are ardent and the mad scene is extremely poignant. The nighttime scenes are ethereal the myrtha is exceptionally regal. Enjoyed the ending dramatics with Bathilde showing her contempt to Albrecht. Very nice ballet💖
The original plan was for Giselle to put Albrecht's and Bathilde's hands together as a way of blessing their union, ("If you can't have me, at least you have each other.") and, as I understand it, the unselfishness of her love supposedly saves Giselle from any further activity as a Wili. It doesn't make much sense to bring Bathilde on at the end, merely to slap Albrecht in the face.

I saw this ballet at the Kauffman in Kansas City yesterday it was really good I think it's the second favorite ballet I've seen behind Swan Lake.

So I had to check this out... I'm reading a book called Misty by Zee David. A Betty Foster Mystery. And so far it's a fantastic book with a lot of ballet mentioned. This was one of them. So I had to check it out myself. I think the nutcracker is the only 1 even seen in RL. I mean, I took ballet when I was maybe 6 or 7. I was terrible n switched to karate lol. But this is fascinating. And I'm happy I took a peek while reading this cool mystery about ballerinas. I get over-involved in the good ones lol. Great job guys. Fantastic!

What a lovely performance. I had never heard of this ballet, but was looking for nice classical music and beautiful imagery to have on in the background while I work - my, it's captivating! Both the dancing and the music.
However, the synchronized audience clapping after certain dances was surprising and a little irritating for me while working - does anyone have insight as to whether this type of clapping is a culturally relevant type of response to a great performance? Here in the States, applause is not synchronized like this.

(I have to say that I was distracted by how the hairdressing department had done the ballet bun and fixed the head dress of the first Willi solo - blond-haired ballerina at 1:02:06 and clearly at 1:02:32. It's terrible).
God I cringed. Royal Ballet, Mariinsky and Bolshoi would never let someone go on stage like that, really ruins the ethereal fantasy

Kristina Mikhaylova played Giselle. She also played Masha in Nutcracker and the title role of Sleeping Beauty, also on their channel.
Could someone please help me with a question I have always had about this ballet? I know the story fairly well, but I can never tell if Giselle and Albrecht have met each other prior to the beginning of the story, or if this is meant to be the very first time they meet? T.I.A.
