Ok so it’s his second weakest state because the Monado is a lot better then his home made sword (he makes another sword that is a lot better a year after in the definitive edition) but it is in its sealed state because it has been know to kill hundreds of people if just one wrong person activates the sword. This seal makes it so the sword can’t hurt people who where born on the Bionics unless you do what Dunban did and keep using it.

Smash is knockback Speed makes you faster Shield gives you reduced knockback and less damage from taking attacks Jump makes you better in the air Buster makes you do more damage

To be fair, Shulk's sword can also generate a giant beam of light which I don't think the buster sword can. Its nerfed compared to the in game version!
