Red Rising made me into a reader again! I read it, I think in January 2018 after a 5 year long period of not reading, and I've been reading ever since! I just remember that reveal near the beginning of the first book and it took the story into a completely different direction than I'd expected. It was soooooo good.
@@DragonArmyBooks I read the first trilogy back then and I also The Iron Gold when it came out but I think I'm going to wait for book 6 to read Dark Age since I want to reread the whole series!
Saw this from the red rising reddit post. Definitely would recommend it. All 5 (at the minute) books have been impossible to put down and I cannot wait for the last book in the second trilogy. Darrow and sevro are two of the greatest characters ever
One thing you didn't mention that stuck out to me was the leadership lessons. This story basically follows Darrow through learning to lead. While I went through the story I kept wondering what leadership experience he has. Darrow makes many leadership mistakes and they have realistic consequences. He learns leadership lessons the hard way and you watch as it slowly begins to build loyalty. The way he handled Tactus' insubordination floored me. I literally had to put the story down and contemplate my own personal leadership for like 30 minutes. This alone is a great reason to read this book.
I couldn't agree more! It's one of my favourite series ever. Soooo good. Favourite characters for me are Darrow, Mustang and Cassius. I'd like to add that the emotional arc is similar to Name of the Wind with its many ups and downs.
I usually don't go for sci-fi but this was amazing and when I was like a hundred pages in I ordered the two following books and am so excited for them. I agree with all ten reasons!
*subscribed* This is my favorite Sci Fi series of all time! It is incredible! Great video! Also, Ender's Game is my favorite single book of all time(I've read it 4 or 5 times) so I love your channel name! Keep up the good work dude.
Saw this from your reddit post. Great job all around here man. I’m no professional but the review, picture, audio, and editing were all done great. Keep it up!
Excellent review, the book sounds awesome! I like the fact that the sci-fi isn't super heavy, that is more up my alley. When I have time, I will try to check this one out!
you've convinced me to read this. I follow another Booktuber who also loves this series, but i didn't know much about it. I love scifi-i i find i'm a little pickier than I am with other genres, because it can get odd and confusing. I'm specifically intrigued by what you mention about hunger games, divergent, etc. I agree, characters need to die sometimes, and stay dead. I get really irritated with all the resurrections. Aw I cant wait to meet these characters! Since Six of Crows I have set the bar high for more layered character development. Have you read that duology?
I have heard SO many good things about Six of Crows but haven't tried it myself yet. The premise sounds right up my alley though. Let me know when you start Red Rising. I know you'll love it!
Thank you for the review. I agree, Red Rising is one of the best sci fi books/series ever written. A true masterpiece. And, yes, exactly, the first book just blew my mind - perfect and the best mixture of everythink you can think of when you say sci fi saga. I have just finished reading Dark Age - in my opinion, at times there are "blank spaces" and the story does not have the same pace as the previous books, but we will see how it goes. On the other hand I started to like Victra a bit more and Lysander a bit less:-)
Hi I m new to this channel and I started reading books just lately, and i found your channel because of your alchemist review. I started whatching your videos like a week ago and I love your content. And thanks to this video Red Rising is going to my book whish list 😁 Hope you have a nice day😁
Please suggest a book similar to Red Rising. I read the book a couple of years of ago, since then I have been searching for getting the same joy but no other book seems to come even close :).
Alright ya sold me, I am reading now. Here’s hoping you learn how to pronounce timbre - it’s “tam” (rhymes with “jam”) ber (as in “it sure is cold in here”) Source: being embarrassed in band class when I couldn’t pronounce it 🤦♂️
I can COMPLETELY relate! It's tough to find something that compares. If you haven't read The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter yet, do. That was the first book that I read that brought back feeling after completing the Red Rising series.

LOVE that it brought you back into reading! Have you gotten to the rest of the series yet!?

So true. That is, in part, why I relate Red Rising to Ender's Game. So many great leadership lessons!
You had me at earth is not the focus; mars is.
Sci-fi fan?
Dragon Army Books more of a fantasy fan actually, but i really dig space. I really hope to get more reading of that.

Did you get to read further in the series? You'll only fall in love with the characters more if you do!
@@DragonArmyBooks yeah I read all 5 books .... now waiting for book 6. I swear I'll buy it the day it comes out.

Super encouraging. Thank you! This is only my 5th video on a brand new channel so I hope to only improve from here!
I keep seeing this at work and been wanting to pick it up, thanks Dustin 👍

I plan on reading this really soon.
Read it now!
It’s on my Christmas reading list now. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Merry Christmas!
Red rising feels like home.
Darrow, Mustang, Sevro, Roque, Pax...they're all family.
"Home isn't where you're from, it's where you find light when all grows dark."
Love this series!
Blows my mind how young this author is.
Like 12 or something.
And this was his first novel he wrote. Usually authors write multiple novels before getting published. It is pretty crazy.
Golden Son blows the 1st book out of the water. One of my favourite series of all time.
Please suggest a book similar to Red Rising. I read the book a couple of years of ago, since then I have been searching for getting the same joy but no other book seems to come even close :).
Can you suggest some of the best books you have read?
I should make a video on it, but here are a few: The Final Empire, Red Rising, And I Darken, Sleeping Giants, and Ender's Game.
Such a good book and series!
I know, right!
Agreed top 3 best
What are your other Top 3 favorites?

English is hawd.
One more reason would have sold me.
Top 11 next time, sor.
Red Rising ruined my life. I wish I never read it now. I have no idea what to fucking read after this book. Nothing is good anymore at all.
I can COMPLETELY relate! It's tough to find something that compares. If you haven't read The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter yet, do. That was the first book that I read that brought back feeling after completing the Red Rising series.
@@DragonArmyBooks Thanks! Will do!
