Yes my grandkids go and get berries and pumpkin from the farms here. There's a new goat farmer nearby. I told my daughter that we need to stop and see if they sell the milk or make any cheese to sell.
Great plan especially if you live in town and can't raise your own chicken pigs goats or cattle. Or don't have the room for a big garden. Another Idea is join a community garden or better yet help some one who has a large garden for a share of the harvest maybe they can plant extra garden space and you both are winners. The biggest thing is we have to learn to think outside the box they want to keep us in. Do that and they will never win
Every year I watch an apple tree along a busy city street drop all it's apples. I am going to try to find out what kind of tree it is and utilize this resource.
Exactly what I’ve been saying….find your local co-op, local farmers that process meats, locals that have chickens for eggs, local gardeners or if your community has a garden share programs. But don’t wait until the shelves are empty, by then the farmers will already have enough friends!!! Go now!!
Good video. Around here People leave stuff by the road in front of their houses with a box with prices on it, to drop the money in. Could be eggs or vegetables, just what ever they have extra of...a few of the small town stores leave out vegetables like that too...for after hour and Sunday shopping.
We all need to garden! And I say heck even think about dropping some seeds in the woods in places where you think they might take and let nature do it's thing. Hope folks are realizing they need to do this! Thanks for sharing!! 😊💕
That is a great idea. The Broussard's found a place that operates on the honor system locally. I used to know a place you could buy fish bait. The lady who owned it may or may not be there but you left your dollar for the container of worms. Long time ago.
Nice drive n Chat North I also was thinking if nothing else find a family farm evan online and ask if they doing any side sale n might have to cover postage or split with friend never hurts to ask. smh
Well I hot spotted. My truck and trailer to Gonzales Tx. To gas compressor field.. Right in the middle of ranchers BLACK ANGUS MEAT HAMBURGER AND STEAK FIELD.. ABOUT 200 CATTLE. YUM YUM.
...and rabbits for the protein source will always be one of the best ways. Have one simmering away in the skillet for tacos as I type this. As long as one can provide shelter they eat a lot less then most species. They do have the highest feed to weight ratio of all other critters with the exception of cornish cross meat birds. The downfall of the meat birds is they can't propogate. They do have less fat so that needs to come from other sources. Added bacon grease in this case. The one major downfall is most people have trouble dispatching a cute cuddly rabbit due to society humanizing them. When it comes down to it though food is food.
Good morning Shawn, I don't personally know any farmers around here but we do have a farmer's market here in our little town. We also have a butcher type store where we can get meat orders, don't know if they deliver however. I don't own a car or license, in fact I don't know how to even drive a car so I have to take our little bus to get to some of the stores and farmer's market as well. I usually shop at Giant Tiger, well actually my son often goes for me. Outside of that store which is like a mini Wall Mart there is a larger grocery store in our downtown mall called Food Basic. Up on the highway we have Superstore and Walmart which I haven't visited since they opened way back in 2013, there is also a Sobey's grocery store in a mall at the opposite end of town. So I have numerous grocery stores to buy from by taking our bus but if they all close down, God help us, going to be very hard to buy fresh fruit, veggies etc. Take care Shawn, stay safe. Our high today is going to be only 37F but 50 the next day.
Great advice! Think outside the box. ❤️❤️❤️
Im blessed to be surrounded by farmers and orchards 🙏🙏🙏
Great video thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Wow that farm looks amazing!

Food is just crazy expensive! So I have cut back allot. I ration what I get.
I understand Sugar! There are folks here in the comment I know...have cut back by a meal a day.....for preparedness.

Now that is very well said!
In Venezuela everybody goes to the farms it's not exclusive it's a way of life
Some of the farm to markets were hit harder than anyone else.
I have a guy right behind me that sells eggs, all I have to do is call him and he will bring them to my back door. Country life.
