    A cool headache rack with flood lights, jerry can, and spare tire would be cool in the bed of the Carry. Love it man!

    Should just make a small plate with the 2 nuts welded to it that you could slide up into the frame so both are held in place and spaced the right amount. Could even drill a few holes through the end of the frame and 'spot' weld that plate in place so you don't have to slide it in or hold it in place. Good work! Turned out great.

      You could also drill a couple of small holes around the bumper holes and weld your flange nut in from the outside, without a plate.

    I have watched most of your videos on the Suzuki Carry. I am very impressed with your work on it, you are hack like people I've watched, great job!! I also have a Suzuki Carry which I was thinking doing some of the same things to. I going to do the same type of lift on mine as well, I ready appreciated the videos, lots of thing that will help to see before I get started. Thanks again!

    Nice looking fab work I would have added a 2in receiver on the front bumper when moving trailers in tight areas its handy to be to hooked to the front.

  • @arvindriddick
    @arvindriddick 2 года назад +2

    Hey Austin. U could try to custom fab a spare tire mount in the bed maybe 😅 more awesom content. Cus i personally dont like taking off custom bumpers just to get to the spare tire. Its a real pain in the butt. Spare tire is categorized as recovery gear and recovery gear should be easy to get too when you need it.

  • @garymallard4699
    @garymallard4699 2 года назад

    if you use trailer hitch tubing for the winch..you can make it pop off and go on back too......also can use it to mount that bumper...use the bigger tube on cab / frame..the smaller tube slides in...a nut on bigger tube and a bolt from bottom ( or side )..secures it...
    And Bob's your Bumper!!

  • @bobthebuilder6315
    @bobthebuilder6315 2 года назад +1

    The 4 rear-facing holes for the bumper I would make nut plates to slide in.1 plate 2 nuts ezpez! And you could make the top center drop a couple inches, (book match) of the bed shape to access the spar tire.

    Protip with all of the rivnuts you end up using: USE ANTISIEZE ON EVERY ONE OF THEM!!! If they get a bit rusty and the nut spins in the hole, its a major pain grinding the heads off the bolts to remove the part. Its worth it to use a little shmoo on them.

    • @signmasters99
      @signmasters99 8 месяцев назад

      Why not tack two sides of the rivnuts, just as an extra measure to make sure it doesn't spin free?

    • @MonkeyWithAWrench
      @MonkeyWithAWrench 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@signmasters99 it can be done. sometimes its better to just weld a nut to the backside even, especially if its going to be repainted. most of the places I've used them were in spots we either could not reach the backside or in spots that we didn't want to repaint. Think lightbars and cargo racks on trucks. we can just use a q-tip to paint the edges of a hole we drill then stick a rivnut in. Welding it sometimes causes waves in the panel from heat distortion and we'd have to remove the headliner and junk to weld it. in those situations a dab of antisieze goes a long way.

  • @That_Ryan_Guy
    @That_Ryan_Guy 2 года назад +1

    Looks awesome dude! For mounting you could use a flanged nut welded in place. The nut would go between the bumper and frame, with the threads inserted into the hole, which might need to opened up a tad to fit. Then weld around the flange & grind smooth. Also, thread.a bolt into the nut before welding to protect the threads and give you something convenient to hold/clamp onto when welding it. =)

    bumper videos sub 20mins now. So what am I meant to do now!!
    If you run the bolts out the chassis with on tack on them then you can just slide the bumper on the studs. Same as car front bar reinforcement.

    One tip I woul add is to attach a hanger pin, say in between the two mounting holes. Basically a stud sticking out, that you can use to hang your bumper with while you put your bolts in.
