13:55 freakin good call, Mitch 🤙🏻
Epic match!
Looking at these comments makes me wonder if I was watching the same fight. Itsuki is amazing but this time she spent far too long studying and not enough fighting. I don't remember seeing her kick once, just got her leg pulverized. Keep that clock in the corner of your eye Itsuki. Less dance and more strike!
Well, 90% of people in the comment section never stepped into the ring and don't have a concept of actual fighting. To me, it was a close call.
Itsuki is insane, I simply love how smart she fights.
Close fight, respect to both girls.

I don't understand how this can be called controversial. The only damage on Hirata was on her legs, which didn't even affect her movement. If the 3rd round didn't end with a knockdown and total domination from Hirata, I agree the fight should have gone to Lin (more points scored during the fight), but not when it finished like it did. Lin got knocked down and saved by the bell TWICE. Getting saved by the bell means there would have been FIGHT ENDING DAMAGE if not for the bell. That surely counts more than leg kicks that don't change the course of a fight.
I totally agree with you
You're so right!!!
If that is your definition of getting saved by the bell, then Lin was not saved by the bell either time. She was not actually getting cranked into submission at the end of Rd2. She had full control of her senses and had regained a reasonable defensive position at the end of Rd3. Look at how she successfully thwarted all of Hirata's final punches.
Some may say Hirata was unfortunate in her timing. But in another point of view she may have been fortunate for the bell to ring, because time then didn't allow Lin to show that she could escape the threat. Instead, people are making assumptions that she was all but finished. There are two very plausible perspectives. But just because one fighter happened to be in a dominant position at the end of a round, does not necessarily mean the other fighter was "saved by the bell." Dominant positions are gained and lost multiple times in most fights. Lin sure didn't look like she was beaten up after either round. You can't just call something "saved by the bell" unless it's extraordinarily clear the fighter was truly on the verge of stoppage.
You should realize there are Chinese bots everywhere
@@davec3651 Interesting point! I hadn't thought of it like that.
Great one Itsuki. It was a close call as Lin fought really good as well. It was a great strategy taking the beating and wait for the right moment to explode. Congratulations to both fighters.
Yeah right, it was like Itsuki was observing/studying her opponent and exhaust and wearing her opponent down slowly, can tell the stamina difference in the last half part and Lin strike no longer has the fire power in it
@@Kamikaze9192 Youre blind. Lee obviously won this.
@@user-tz9jh6pv2j yeah, right. The first time in the end of the round when she was almost submitted by kimura, and the second time when she was almost ko'd. Both she won. Who's blind?
That is how you fight. Patience and Determination. Good job to Hirata.

@@andysilber2702fr lol
Hirata's observation skills and timing (especially in both grappling and those last minute lightning round punches around the end of round 3) are nice. I also love how she effectively dodged that spinning back kick Heqin tried to do so I hope she really trains more on her reflexes like that. I feel like if she practices more with kickboxing, punching and kicking fast considering the time limits, dodging hits fast too, landing and adding more force in her hits, maintaining her holds during grapplings such as doing more grip strength, add more grappling moves, and add some foot sweeps and more tricks like 13:52 when holding her opponent against the cage, then she's good to go. It'd also be cool if she made it appear like she still solely uses grappling but sike! she improved in kickboxing too so element of surprise! If she involves more striking, she'll also be able to win based on point system and not just takedowns. This fight wasn't easy to win but not only do I see room for improvement but I also see how Hirata can rise and be a greater fighter if she works on herself and adds more to her arsenal.
Heqin's kickboxing and how she handled herself against the grappling situations were great. Her being able to maneuver herself around and leave most of Hirata's holds were nice. In kickboxing, she lands her hits fast and hard and it didn't really lose its consistency throughout this fight as the rounds went on. It was also smart of her to move around not only as a form of active recovery but to also keep her opponent guessing in which fist she'll punch with and how she'll punch or better yet, if she was even going to use a punch. Her reflexes are also great when dodging Hirata's punches and when preparing herself for another grappling takedown. Heqin's loss certainly wasn't instant nor was it a walk in the park and it serves as an example of how a loss doesn't necessarily make one less of a fighter than they were before that loss. Similar to how even if Rock Lee lost against Gaara, everyone still remembers how powerful Rock Lee truly is and the first thing Gaara did once he got back home was to find the best taijutsu instructor to learn more on Rock Lee's fighting. Even Gaara recognized how worthy of a fighter Rock Lee was. I hope Heqin continues growing her kickboxing as well as involving more fighting styles to be prepared.
This is a fight you need to watch till the very end!
Hirata spent a lot of time studying her opponent. The clock saved Lin twice from tapping out or being knocked out. Wasn’t an easy fight for Hirata.

She's only focused on grappling from her judo experience but suffered too much damage from the kicks to her left thigh. If only she can combine karate low kicks and punches or muay thai knee and elbow attacks , she might win quicker
Man what an amazing fight! Both of them fought really well. But if Hirata had been more agressive throughout the fight i'm sure she would have won without all of this difficulty (although knockouts are a thing). lin did a great job keeping her at bay when striking and grappling most of the time! Great fight. i'm glad Hirata didn't get two losses in a row on her resume! I was worried for a second.
When was Hirata's first loss? Was it during her first fight? Any other fights she's done before ONE? I wanna know more about her and Heqin.

This match almost had me in tears. The clock robbed Hirata twice. Then the judges robbed Heqin. So much injustice in this world.
Why is that? Time = time
Tell’Em Steve Dave.
Think it just comes down to the scoring being counted for the fight as a whole rather than round by round. Judged as whole I thought it was close but Hirata was the winner. Judged round by round Lin would have won two rounds to one.
Best take 👍
They both fight very nice.
Wow what a fight
Lin was winning the fight until the last 30 seconds where she ate the knockdown and got pummeled
That's why you give your all until the final second and never get too comfortable with a lead
Lin another great match for Itsuki...love to see Itsuki win but I really thought the judges were going to give the fight to Lin...great fight!!!
Lin was doing really well through the whole fight. She has a really good lead hand game. She was about to win. But that knock down was too much.

She did fuck all, only throwing jabs and light leg kicks.
@@dubstepXpower that's not fuck all. That's called more strikes landed. Itsuki literally posted a photo of her leg all beaten up laying in bed on her Instagram.
@@dubstepXpower yeah and Hirata landed relatively like a tenth the amount of strikes Lin landed. Lin jabbed and leg kicked while adjusting the timing, angle and distance of those strikes to avoid takedowns and in the end it paid off. Hirata only got some stuff going after a successful takedown when it was just too late. Hirata should’ve attempted to counterstrike more and check the leg kicks more to open up her own takedowns and prevent Lin from having almost two rounds of uncontested striking.
I don't think I've ever seen such neat low kicks. I hope to see Lin again. Great fight. ♡

Good match by both women, but Lin won pretty much everything but the last 30 seconds of the match. Itsuki reaped the benefits of being a ONE favorite, in this match.
Damage and almost finishing trumps everything. Lin was more busy but didn't do much. Similar result to Yan Vs Sandhagan.
I love itsuki but i think lin shouldd've won this. She dominated the game. Itsuki last 30 secs was good but she didnt even finish her.
People keep saying Lin should have won but in my eyes, Itsuka Hirata clearly won. I was 100% supporting Lin to win and possibly Lin won strictly on points but any type of combat should be based on realism. Just imagine if the fight was for real in the same cage but no referee. We all know who will end the fight with her two legs standing.
If I was Lin, I will not feel content in my heart if I was pronounced the winner of this fight. Lin has more work to do to defeat Hirata Itsuka.

I love me some Hirata, but this was pure robbery! Heqin and her corner had a masterful game plan.
I do not agree with the decision. In fact it is baffling that it was unanimous.
It was a good match.
No robbery took place Isuki scored 3 takedowns and one knock down. That’s the fight. She won by unanimous decision.
Good match, but the tiny Japanese tank seems to pull it off consistently.

If not with the last punch and take down with hirata, lin was one step ahead due to nasty damage of hiratas leg. Overall its a good fight
I understand that this is a business, 😒 they are creating a star. , but I don’t see the true essence of martial arts here… i’m a fan of One championship but sometimes their judges make wrong decisions… the Chinese fighter clearly won !!!! Sorry ✌️

Definitely right
Based on body language .. the Chinese fighter looked defeated at the end.
@@summacumlaude9161 that doesn't equal to Lin losing when hirata couldn't finish her. Lin dominated and defended many grapples and takedowns by hirata.
Yeah that's what i hate when the fight goes to the scorecard :(
Great fight...Li has the height and length advantage. .Itsuki looks great. keeping Li on the ground is the best move here. ..If Li avoided that punch...might've been a split decision......still Itsuki..keep rockin!
Lin dominated almost the whole fight and Hirata didn't punch and didn't even kicked until the last seconds of the last round, she was focused on grappling, if Hirata had kicked and punch much, much sooner, she would've win earlier without receiving so much damage on her left leg.
No she should grapple her earlier to take out her gas tank. You grapple with a grappler, you gonna lose your gas very quickly! Then you gonna loose focus, and you lost...
Lin have more punch but most of all can’t get the point, and itsuki control Lin on the grand get more point
Itsuki was quite cautious

Love to see Itsuki back in the ring
Would still give Lin the W, it was a near finish but she run out of time and time is a factor. It is not a last man standing Match and Lin did overall more with her time....
just shows how much flash matters over consistency. they already said it best. Itsuki had 30 seconds of success at the end of each round. Lin was picking her apart for the other 4:30. But because it wasn't flashy she doesn't get enough credit for it.
I wouldn't say it wasn't "flashy." Hirata had two big moments that nearly finished the fight, both at the end of each of the rounds they happened in. Tbh its not an easy call for me but I don't see a problem with the decision.
@@thephilosopher7173 unfortunately the bell stopped whatever conclusion those moments could have been. hard to say with the submission attempt, but the knockdown seemed to be just a flash knockdown. seemed like Lin recovered very quickly and was defending well. obviously anyone can get caught (like Usman) but if it goes to the judges the person that controlled 80% of the fight should be the winner. Itsuki barely did anything but take punishment outside of those 2 big moments.
Why do I have to remind everyone the phrase 'Intelligently defending yourself'? Itsuki did every round. Lin did not when Itsuki started to win. Add a few seconds and Lin would be in hospital, possibly brain damage.
@@TaijDevon 15:20 climbing into half guard while she's recovering, tying up Itsuki's hands and then dodging the punches when Itsuki breaks free and tries to land punches says to me she's intelligently defending herself *shrug*
Not the flashiness, but the significance of their efforts. Lin never really put Hirata in danger eventhough she controlled the stand up, she never pushed the pace to look for the finish, just consistent tap here and there. While Hirata took her down 3 times and always looked for the finish each time, and of course the knockdown and gnp. Significance wins over consistent control.
I think this match was not even close or close decision. As a two top contenders match in a promotion, it’s almost perfect win.
Hirata took 4 or5 times takedowns, 2 times grappling and ground controls 9:54 12:58, and one knock down while Lin gave only a certain damage to Hirata’s left leg but no serious damage, no down neither no takedown.
I guess even without the last attack, Hirata could win a decision. The over weight was more problem.
Hirata, 💗❤️ 😍😍
That was way too tight. Hirata should have been a lot more aggressive.
I’ve been really enjoying ONE Championship as of late, but the one thing I cannot stand is the MMA judging system, and questionable decisions like this really make me wonder what the reasoning behind it even is
They judge by whole fight's outcome, not round by round
Itsuki was on defense most of the fight, but she was never actually in trouble. Lin was saved by the bell TWICE. I'm not sure what fight you watched. Near wins weigh heavier in scoring than general aggression.
Unanimous? I don't know, even if Hirata is considered to be a 'better' fighter, she didn't necessarily fight as well as Heqin for almost the whole fight, in my opinion. I smell fanboys on the judge panel. Should've at least been a little love for Heqin.
Ccp troll? Lol
It's the takedown that matters not just mere kicks..
Lin won this match 2-1 or a draw at the least. Just look at Hirata's leg, it's medium rare cooked.
They don’t score round by round
I agreed Lin should've won. She dominated and even defended a few takedowns.
Fights are scored in their entirety in one, a near stoppage counts for much more
Any fighting sport should also be based on who would have won if this was a real fight, not just blindly following points: And in that case, Hirata surely wins.
I can hardly agree with you. Even kids who have never seen MMA matches can see who was winning. (The one who punched her opponent on the ground )
I like them both, but Hirata won no doubt .
Not to mention Hirata’s ground control earns more points than Lin’s slight kicks.
Nothing wrong with this decision. Lin lost the fight in the last few seconds, she should have been better prepared for the last 30 seconds. But surely it was a close call for Hirata, she shouldn't take so much damage and must find better ways to launch her attacks. She has the talent to dominate such a fight, but this time she was lucky.
this match really shows how hirata struggles to let her hands fly when the time calls for it. she has a ways to go before she reaches her potential, good that she's young and she'll learn.
Hirata needs to find a proper striking gym , to learn better movement footwork combinations ectra.
Here submission game ground game is slick ,but here overall skills aren't on the same level als Angela's and stamps
@TheAspergersStrikesBack bro what were you watching? I counted over 20 punches after the knockdown. That exchange did more damage to Lin than Lin did to Itsuki the entire fight, and it was to the head. Itsuki mainly took leg kicks
@@Suplex479 Hirata was just killing her late in the fight. Agreed. Some leg kicks Hirata can just ignore is not winning a fight. Mounted punches like Itsuki did is a lot more convincing.

I like Hirata but I have to disagree with the decision. Heqin won 60 to 70 percent of each round.
First of all hats off to both of these ladies 👏👏👏👏...I know they weren't scoring by rounds which makes it harder to see the victory as called, i saw this as more of a split decision victory for Hirata..we were scoring the fight by rounds lin gets a split decision victory. @@brentknight7350 yes because fight was so close i would have thought 1 judge would have seen it differently. So close it could have gone either way .

Hirata should have been more aggressive like she was at the end of each round too have won that fight, but apparently the judges don’t require that. Just be close enough for a potential knockout or submission is spot on. 🤦♂️
Hirata was indeed losing most of the fight. But the important phrase is intelligently defending herself. Hirata did that did that even when at disadvantage. When Lin lost the advantage late in the fight I was worried for her health. I did not see any sign of Lin really defending herself when the surprising Hirata assault came on. Add a couple seconds it was a TKO.
