How does this only have 190 views?
    This is awesome, and helpful.

If you enjoy "cartoon realism" as you called it (which I do to), I can wholeheartedly recommend the Bone comic series. I'm sure you know it already, but thought I would mention it just in case.

Good points here, and the illustration does look like it's straight from a scene in the comic. Great work!

Thanks Christopher! It was fun to draw, and a chance to use a brush pen I hadn’t tried in years. 😁

I gotta say, I am really impressed with the line-work on the forest in the corner. It really captures the chaotic order of wild brush in the dead of winter well

Thanks! I’m pretty sure I copied it directly from a C&H strip 😆

@@studiobrushpen I wrote that just after trying to copy one of Watterson's backgrounds. No mean feat, for sure

Wow! I really liked how you bought me back to my Calvin and Hobbes days. I'm going to bring down my hard copies and see if my daughter of 10 will appreciate them now 😄

Awesome idea. Share it so it can continue to live. This was and is my all time favorite comic. So much fun. When I read the first couple I was hooked. Great memories during that time.

I believe Waterson would be inking the strips very quickly - to introduce a liveliness and a kinetic Woosh to all his pieces.

Oh yeah, genuinely drawing quickly to create energy and movement in a cartoon is a big one. Thanks!
