I like this route update sooo much more than the pacifist one. In the pacifist one it heavily waters down UF sans’s character to make him more sympathetic because I suppose the devs wanted to encourage true pacifist or whatever. But even in the attempt to bring the playerbase back to the consensus that pacifism is the right move, they miss the whole point of pacifism sometimes doesn’t feel like the right thing. Sparing UF Sans used to be a very hard choice where the player had to weigh the options of letting a killer go or ending him yourself. It was an underused moral dilemma that has been removed in place of a retcon of Sans’s backstory with this world’s Susie. In this route update, the devs did have to water down Susie a little to keep her from literally killing Kris on the spot or splitting the party, but it is significantly less as she feels no remorse in expressing her disgust towards the player. And her letting Kris live could be explained by her knowledge that the thing that spared GGUF sans wasn’t Kris, and damaging the heart could kill Kris. Anyways all this to say I like this update, don’t like the pacifist one. Still, keep up the good work Deltatraveler team
I honestly like both cause... It really just explains lore of GG!Fell sans Even after everything he did, hes still (just like in OG Fell) a coward whos using murder as a cover-up of his feelings of the hellhole And even then, talk is really unnoticeable action for everyone, because they are all focused on the fact that GG!Fell sans ISNT spareable, by looking at the tired mark, making them focus on sleep mist. It really just shows that if player have enough attention, he can try to find out the truth on his own (now that everyone knows about the stuff it wont work as much effective but whatever), making player rewarded with not only Papyrus redempting himself, but BOTH of them having a redemption arc. It really just shows how player can be rewarded for being kind and viewful
@@Sashacoolguy_Games It's still preferrable if they made his "realization" arc harder to achieve instead of making it achievable by watching 30 seconds worth of guidance
The Sans ending is meant to be a sendoff to GG!Underfell, as it's likely gonna be totally rebooted. It's the closest thing to a happy ending it can get, I suppose.
Yes, it should. The whole point of Obliteration is killing people to get stronger, so I don't see how missing free EXP here shouldn't be considered a fail to that objective
I agree, it should abort obliteration cause it would completely go against the entire point of the route. With that being said though, I think it could be neat to have a new alternate route/ending where you go genocide everything and ONLY spare the most horrible, mersulless and ruthless people. (Flowey, Fell! Sans, genocide Frisk, etc)@@fedethegreat88
@@dylanzlol7293 It took someone slightly more unhinged than him to cause him to snap out of it. At 3:15, when Susie says "Whatever you are...", it's really interesting what Kris' sprite does. Folds their arms, almost like a pout. Letting their bangs fall back over their eye. Usually Kris' unprompted movements represent Kris' choices, not ours. Here though that reaction seems indignant, which is a response to what Susie was saying about US. So either the hair dropping down over Kris' eye means that's not to represent Kris' reaction, or Kris feels like Susie is, at least in part, blaming them for what happened, and they don't feel like they deserve it. Or maybe Kris is folding their arms to scorn us.
Why does this abort obliteration? This is far more fucked up than the normal variant, so why not do a "Uty dalv" moment and let you proceed thru the run anyways?
Because killing literally everything in your path seems to have a physical effect on the team. Even sparing one thing seems to massively effect the team's ability to cause fatal damage. I don't know if it will be explained, but it seems like obliteration has a potentially story related requirement for you to kill EVERYTHING.
tbh, this should NOT abort the route, kinda like in undertale yellow when u spare dalv (u can still go kill monsters in snowdin and start genocide again)
I hated in the original how Susie didn't acknowledge how fucked it was to not kill him after he (supposely) killed a version of her while Ness and Paula died, good change. Part of me doesn't want this to count as an actual abortion, or if it is nothing goes 'back to normal'
This is MESSED UP aborting genocide for this? If someone who mentally wanted to see the characters suffer they got this. Anyways poor Susie. Also this was a cool alternative for abort
