I think you missed the part where he gave himself the scar it connected to the last two music videos you watched. Amygdala is the real life of what suga went through in his youth to become the person he is today. The entire concert was very emotional and I was lucky enough to attend the first 3 of the tour. I saw people fainting, collapsing, screaming, needing medical attention because of how emotional every performance and the end in Seoul was. Suga has saved a lot of us through his music me included, yoongi (his real name) continues to bring awareness to these hard topics and opens the conversation. Thank you for reacting to this it means a lot to us.

*Meanings for the song titles of the Trilogy*
*Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.)
*Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden.
*Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future.
*About His Name - you keep saying D, so I wanted to clarify his names:*
1 - *Min Yoon-gi is his birth name.* (in Asian cultures, many times, the last name comes first, then the first name. So Min is his last name, and Yoon-gi is his first name)
2 - *SUGA is his stage name with BTS.* (His stage name SUGA comes from his favorite position in basketball, which is Shooting Guard - so SHOO-GA is how it's pronounced)
3 - *AGUST D - is his stage name as a solo artist* (DT stands for Daegu Town, so *AGUST D is DT SUGA* spelled backwards)
*So you are welcome to call him D or whatever, I just thought you should know what the D stands for, which is Daegu.*
*My own thoughts on Agust D's Triology:*
Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years (they even almost disbanded in 2018). So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the making video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D.
He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing.
He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in that video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?) In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet
Finally, Yoongi went on a world tour, after this album was released, and at the Final concert, he was very emotional, and had his BTS Bros. and his PEERS there with him. on a couple occasions, ARMY's sang the parts because he was so emotional he couldn't sing. And at the very end, the door he couldn't go through in this Music Video is on the stage, and he's able to walk through now. That tells me that he has healed and accepted those parts of himself, and he can move forward and let go now. You could see the relief on his face and the love as he waved good bye and closed the door. EPIC MOMENT. 💜

You may have been looking away and feeling the music when he gave himself the scar/cut, which is the connection between these three videos.
I'm sure others will comment their thoughts on this but I might as well too. The Amygdala being the part of the brain that processes fear and memory, anxiety and threat detection, the room with the closed door is probably the amygdala or the the part of himself that is processing his life's trauma. At some point, the pain of life is represented by him causing the cut on his face along with an protective personality or shell. You see after he makes the cut, he's sitting on the couch and making the sarcastic smile that you see various versions of him smiling throughout the three videos. He protects himself with a tough persona and an emotional distance from others. He wasn't supported by his family to pursue music, so he left home early and struggled for money.
The car accident was real, he had a side job as a delivery person while they were in training. His left shoulder was run over and damaged. He didn't tell the group for a while because he wasn't supposed to have the job on the side, but he needed the money. Even after it was attended to, this injury bothered him for years throughout their career. He had surgery in 2020 and seems to be doing better. Still, he had to take a different kind of job in military service because of this.
So, my thoughts are that these three videos are the story of how he created this tough, powerful persona with the face scar, but the scar is actually all the trauma he has to process. When he was young, it was a fresh wound. In Daechwita, the prideful king's scar is more pronounced but the commoner who defeats him still has a scar, just a less pronounced one. In Haegum, the corrupt official has the scar but even lighter and the rebel who burns the money doesn't have the scar at all.
The three videos together are the story of how he iteratively kills off old versions of himself until he eventually becomes a person that is free of his old trauma, in my opinion. 💜

Amygdala is the part of your brain that helps you deal with fear and trauma.
The music video is also all about his life, they're not just scenes to fit the song but moments from his life portrayed in the mv and every flashing scene reveals more and I just love how open he is in his music.
    Thanks for the reaction :)

A song about how we process trauma by sharing his own lifes most traumatic personal moments. I hadnt realized how important it is that I unpack things in my past instead of just repressing them till this smacked me in the face. Its such an incredibly real and vulnerable song and live he was in tears the last performance of it. Here he is trapped in his mind still unable to open the door in his live tour obnly on the last show at the end he finally walks with a smile through the door. He is no longer in this place and showed us. It was one of the most amazing impactful things I've ever seen (in a show where he was in tears through the last several songs barely able to get through them in the most emotional perfomrances/songs I've ever witnessed). How can folks not be impressed?
He is a bias wrecker for many for a reason. Jin calls him "the pride of Bangtan" for his musical genius and just being himself. RM the leader says that he leads from the front but Suga pushes them from behind is and their ambition. Many producers have a signature "sound" but he can do so much and especially working with other artists he knows how to match their style and bring out the best in them. So his sounds/songs are some of the most varied I've seen. One of my favorite songs he wrote for all 7 to perform in BTS is Tomorrow (no MV but there are lyric videos and live stages) a song he wrote while still in HS.

"He's telling a story" Welcome to the world of BTS. They're always saying something and have based their albums on philosophical books and theories that their lyrics are now displayed in a museum and taught in schools around the world. You missed some of the video it's way deeper than you think and it tells Suga's life story.
Suga is incredible he reminds me so much of a younger Eminem in terms of their story, raw authentic lyricism, and delivery. I recommend his song "Snooze" ft. Woosung next

This door during the MV he was trying to open but could not is important as further during his last concert and we all know (after years of watching him battle adversities) at the last show, in the last few seconds as he waved us goodby also knowing he was going to the military and we wouldnt see him for 2 years, HE FINALLY OPENED THE DOOR AND STEPPED THRU IT, this was by all accounts so heartfelt and Army just cried. On a side note yes his hardcore but his shown a soft side to Army and so we call him by another term.of endearment, we named him Lil Meow coz his just a little kitty cat.😂😂💜💜💜💜

It is a whole different side but it was necessary like a release from the Agust D persona, cause this song is autobiographical. 🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜 Agust D is Suga DT (Daegu Town) backwards by the way. In the last solo concert on his sold out tour before he went into the military he opened this door from Amygdala and went through it to signal that he overcame the traumas of his past. That was very powerful!

I love what you said about character being forged in fire, absolutely true!
I like how you call him D lol. To give you some info - his given name is Min Yoongi (family name comes first). His stage name in BTS and as a producer for others is Suga, he made it up from the first syllables of his favorite position from when he played basketball in high school, shooting guard, so "Shoo-Gua". And finally as a solo artist he's been using Agust-D which is Suga backwards with tD for town Daegu, his hometown.

A lot of BTS' songs are actually meaningful and relatable and give us the listener hope.Hence their fans ARMY are very diverse from young to old. Most of BTS and BTS members' songs are usually telling their stories. They are either their life experiences or something that are on their thought that they pour it out through music. If you like deep meaning music, you will love BTS. Their lyrics, their MV and their dances usually connected and tell stories. A lot of BTS MV also contain Easter Eggs. Enjoy the journey of BTS world.

I'm glad to hear you say YOU have not seen this side of him and it's NEW TO YOU. So many reactors act like what is new to them is new to the artist as well, when it's not. He does sing also on his solo work. If you check out his whole albums you will find other songs where he is giving vocals and being vulnerable. All the rappers also sing on their solo work.
By the way, BTS albums (their 20 group albums and 13 solo albums) are all concept albums with tracks in a storytelling order. They ask that you listen to them in order for the full experience of the story of each album. You could do that on your own, but of course it would be fun for us if you do album listening reactions with us. Some albums are also grouped in sets or series which are linked by themes, like the Love Yourself Series, the School Trilogy, the Map of the Soul Series, and HYYH/The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Series and Yoongi's AgustD trilogy which has linked themes and songs album to album. All the rappers' solo albums, as well as Jimin's solo album Face are really like diaries of their thoughts, fears, hopes and life journeys and experiences. V and Jungkook's albums are more conceptually large and universal in theme, but V's album is also telling an overall personal conceptual story.

He was continually in pain due to that accident that where he came round with the wheel of the car just shy for his eye a fraction much would have killed him. It's the accident that did damage to his shoulder but he was afraid he'd be forced to leave the group so lied about it. Saying he fall down stairs and his shoulder never healed properly and due to all the dancing it got worse to the point he couldn't hold his mic in that hand. He did come clean about it eventaully only to find out the Company would have helped with his university fee if only he'd told them that rather than take that part time delivery job.
He was taking painkillers most of the time but in the end it just got worse and worse more damage due to the dancing. He finally had it operation one for corrective surgery in Covid and and to have recovery and physio time out for a number of months.
His mother and father before survied their health issues eg his mothers heart operation and his fathers cancer. He had major fights with his mental health and is very open about it.

BASICALLY….when he said ‘I don’t know your name’…..although he went on to let us know up close n personal- his own trauma? It triggered THOUSANDS of peeps…to remember theirs. So much so You Tube put a warning on said vid? And there were psychiatrists/psychologists on stand by for those who needed them. For eg. Was watching a beautiful college student reacting to it. Once he hit that car? SHE LOST IT….I MEAN BECAME ALMOST HYSTERICAL WITH CRYING. She’d survived a horrific car accident which landed her in hospital for months…had to learn how to ‘walk again’. Seriously triggered her. In other words….any of us who underwent an event that nearly cost us our lives? Became triggered.
Shit. At 14yrs old I survived a R word/horrendous assault but…at my ripe age? Came to terms with and moved beyond. Years ago. Some kids (sorry…for me anyone below 30 is a kid🤣) havn’t. So this song hit differently to his other two and it hit HARD. BUT….he opened up in a way that honestly? None of his brothers in BTS did. That took a lot of guts/strength. Can honestly say it’s my favorite song by him to date. 💜💜💜

    Sugestion: SNOOZE
React to SNOOZE, where he speaks in a mature way to those new to their careers, that sometimes you need to rest. Advice he didn't have, but is qualified to give.
    Beautiful song!
One of the reasons we identify with each BTS is that they talk about their personal experiences, which makes us love them more.
Poetry or anger, speak from the heart.
There's nothing wrong with making songs about different things, but opening your heart to us gives us a feeling of intimacy.

I love this song. So vulnerable.
Can you react to Wildflowr, Joke, or Do you by RM?
I recommend The Astronaut by Jin or Epiphany by Jin.

This song is a resume of real events that he has in the past. He lived this heartbreaking but he came out triumphant or at last that's what we all hope. That door make many if not all ARMY cry. Try to look in the D-Day concerts videos of Amygdala where me at last end up crying like a baby of pure relief and joy for him. Min Yoongi didn't have an easy beginning in life that's why we love him so much and wish him the best of this world. He deserves it. Ohhhh you missed the part when he gave himself the scar on his face. Thanks for your reactions.

thank you for reacting to one of Agust D's song, most of his songs came from his life experience and you're right his life was not easy. He is a great story teller and there are more songs like The Last, Shadow, and First Love.

If you want to continue AGUST D, I recommend his self titled track.
But believe it or not, he's not even the main rapper of the group, it's their leader RM. Or Rap Monster.
    I highly recommend his stuff.
Such as DO YOU, WILD FLOWER, JOKE.
But how about the rapline in general. Try the CYPHER MEDLEY LIVE!

I want to point out that calling him D is incorrect. Agust D is his full solo stage name. All letters here is important, because this name has meaning (DT Suga backwards where DT is Daegu Town - his birth town and name of the hip-hop crew he was part of). His stage name in BTS and as producer is Suga (from SHOOting GUArd). His real Korean name is Min Yoongi (or Yun-Ki, there's different ways to translate Korea letters into English and Min is his family name).
Also I've noticed you called Jungkook just Jung before several times. This is also incorrect. He decided to use Jung Kook as his solo name as two separate words, but Jungkook is his real first name, you don't separate it. Jeon Jungkook is his full name, where Jeon is family name.
It's really rubs wrong a lot of ARMYs when people mispronounce their names (especially after some time since you started to explore their music).
Also you kept missing important parts closing your eyes, lol. With BTS' MV you can't even blink😂😂😂

In your free time I suggest you watch all the 3 videos again and just take in what you see. All three songs together - Daechwita, Haegum and Amygdala - tell a story about Yoongi's / Suga's / Agust D's life and what he went through and where he stands right now. It's a painful but also beautiful story, leaving you with the knowledge that even the hardest life can result in a strong and hopeful person.

By the way everything he shows really happened except the box cutter represents self destructive ideation. Are you ready to laugh at anybody who thinks BTS is candyfloss pop yet? Suga and RM are geniuses. Get used to different sides of BTS. Its why you can never get bored. Wait till you watch RMs three new tracks with mvs from his new album compare GROIN( rap) with LOST and COME BACK TO ME. I will enjoy seeing your head spin.
