These are CLASSIC! I have watched them all on this channel over the years - best part of the channel -one of the only records of Irish life in its everyday natural state in the 70s and 80s was this segment from Hall's pictorial weekly. WHERE DO YOU GET THEM? They were not all on the only released DVD collection of highlights from the show. I am intrigued! They are part ofd a precious archive off REAL life - a life in which people were normally only filmed smiling and facing the camera, or for a special occasion or in a sporting event, or political event or in a disaster situation. This is IRELAND as it was in ordinary everyday life - absolutely precious and thank you!
Where my lot come from, BallagjaDERReen. My mother was born weks before the Rising and died 2 yrs ago. She was from Fairymount nearby. Her mother's cousin from mext door once had the honour of beong invited for tea in the town and she brought her daugjter Agnes along with het. The old lady had never seen a tea cosy before. "What's in the nageen, Agnesheen?"
The hard boys walked down the center of town undeterred, with firm strides, hands in pockets, sweets in mouths, and smiles on their faces as they teased the pretty girls as they walked by, Billy the Kid was not scared as he walked with his bicycle in their direction
Oh that makes me so happy to hear you say that. The rest of me is Scottish as my granny was an Armstrong. I admit to 3 present Norwegian, which might be Viking. So I wish I could come back to my spiritual homeland someday. Hang on to our culture. 💚💕@@jamesbradshaw3389

Sean, where in the world do you reside?
Killarney in Kerry. Born and raised in London, parents from Roscommon.

Because he had his pump in his hand
Ah ,that was all before the joy of diversity was visited upon this small Island.
Ballagh in the rare old times!
My DNA says my ancestors hailed from Roscommon. Third generation Irish American here at 61 percent Irish 🎉💚
