I'm glad I never watched the trailers for any of the games before playing, otherwise I would've been even more disappointed by DkS2. They also spoil a ton of bosses throughout the series (been binge watching the trailers for the trilogy+BB)
Base game was a hit and miss but the dlc is peak souls and it got the best pvp, and build variation is the best with anything works without it becoming a chore. DS3 gimped spellcasting to much and is to melee focused, and elden ring is way to over the top with movesets and open world is boring. DS1 got the best level design until after anor londo.
Of course, the DS 2 has one of the best DLCs but the game was not as impressive as the DS 1 and the DS 3, because DS 1 for me and for most Souls games fans has the best map design and game engine was so much better in DS3 and Elden Ring, while Elden Ring deviated greatly from the SOULS GAME essence, but still a very good game and huge area to wonder around, and great Boss fights ever.

Trailers don't spoil games, because showing a hint or a glimpse from the game does not decrease the value of a masterpiece like The Dark Souls series.

DkS1 and 2 are bottom tier souls imo. I preferred Demon's. And then DkS3, Sekiro and ER are top 3
