Haven’t plugged into an engine, but in the opening after Carline played b5 I believe that Bxb5 would have been bone crushing as if axb, then Nxb5 threatening royal fork on d6 & fork of king & rook on c7. That said, great game

I like to capture pieces against the French and make it an open game. Players who choose the French Defence tend to prefer closed games, so capturing often annoys them.
