Nice of him to announce the rook sacrifice trick so the kid has time to think, but also a clever distraction tactic to see. Bxf1 Bd5 wins the queen. Love that the kid found the best move as well. Wholesome chess.

Doesnt quite work yet because of the bishop, that was the reason for Mike's Rook sacrifice a couple moves later, if black moves that light square bishop to take then you can pin the queen.

5:30 It's not that the bishop is worth more than the rook. The bishop was needed to prevent Mike from playing Bd5, pinning Henrik's queen and king.

Mike got scared as Henrik was not saying anything...(why is he not saying anything xD)
If I were Henrik I wouldn't capture the rook cuz that would allow Bd5 pinning the queen to the king and the bishop can't block cuz it captured on f1 instead of just believe the bishop is a better piece, which is true, but even if Henrik traded he would probably be in a better position later on in the game if there wasn't Bd5.
Of all the chess players in the world, I enjoy watching Boston Mike play the most.

No way Mike didn't see the queen standing in prime position to be pinned to the king by the white bishop for like half the game.
And he doesn’t forget to hit the clock when his opponent has low time.
I mean im a begginer and i saw that mate in one, id say he absolutely let him have that one. Specially on how he didnt seem surprised at all and his queen move literally does nothing.
