My seven year old Staffy has an infection in her paw so I took her to a local Veterinarian this morning. The receptionist fell in love with her and the Veterinarian stated that she was the best behaved dog that she had in her clinic in a long time. So very proud.

I would love a new baby staffy, I had three and one died recently as of 2 years ago. They get potty trained and commands young, plenty of toys and walks for excerise and to prevent those teething destruction problems. Praised for doing there business in right locations and treated is the way and plenty of love.

I adopted a year-year-old 68 lb. Lab/Staffy mix last summer. Miss Ginger Rogers has spent her first year in a crate in a kennel in warehouse of 200+ dogs. I basically saved her life, I have participated in raising and training five Labs and love active, large breed dogs. Ginger came to us without any start up experiences; she had never been in a car, been up and down stairs, on a lead, or lived in a home, or been around noisy vehicles. We had a lot of making up to do! I spent out first few months teaching the basic skills; sit, stay, leave it, come, sit/stay, down, no, calm girl, load up, sit/stay at the door and let the human go through first etc. Now at about 15-16 months we are working hard on helping her learn to heal, and learn to delay her gratification. She now sits/stays for a count of 50 before I "release her" to eat her meal. Next, I am hiring a trainer to help us do better on her anxiety with other dogs and lead pulling. She is strong and highly energetic.

much respect, it is common sense knowledge and understanding. dogs have a hierarchy and need a place in it they feel secure when they know this and as humans we have a responsibility, too many of us treat them as toys we are lazy ( or too busy...) maybe this is another reason why so many dogs are abandoned and placed in jail, kennels. maybe that is another important topic... anyway i just wanted to say Will, you clearly know your stuff...

I really enjoy your video. First of all for all your great advices about Stafforshire training but also for your English class you're giving without even knowing 😉 I just love English accent and since you speak very clearly, it's really easy to catch up. I'm rather used to speak with Americans but I prefer English accent by far. Thanks for both 👍

    Hi
Ty for all you offer and advise, so helpful.
    Can you help?
I look after a friends staff occasionally, Gibson is a big lad, beautiful happy and loving...the issue is he hasn't had any of the consistent and structured training staffing so need, he responds really well and understands our relationship however when hw returns the structure stops - he obviously then starts acting out and it takes at least a couple of days to reimplement the training and relationship he so obviously needs and enjoys.
This means two days missed of enjoying the best of him and TBH its bloody hardcand intensive work.
My question is... are there any ways to short cut the retraining and rebuilding of the relationship so we can maximise the fun time we have together?

structure is the problem....most people are inconsistent. My dogs are rewarded for not barking... they're rewarded for uffing as oppoed to barking.... Despite all the life's stresses (lack of YOUR sleep), you gotta use your lack of sleep with theirs (believe me, they'll looking at you for guidance). Look for leadership from the native American Indians. IMHO, there's no better ideology than the intuitional breakdown.; That goes for any dog.....you just gotta research their grooming, characteristics, and where you will stand with them.... what more can I say.,....
