Unlike beef tallow, and chicken schmaltz (plus pork lard, and avocado oil, to a lesser degree), the problem with seed oils is that they're very high in linoleic acid and contain toxic residues from the refining process. Seed oils are RBD oils (Refined, bleached, and deodorized) with chemicals like hexane that remain in the finished, refined oil. These compounds accumulate in cells and damage them over time.

Yes!! People don't understand how bad seed oils are. I wouldn't eat vegetable oil if you paid me.

McDonald's french-fries used to be cooked in 100% beef tallow until the early 90's. They used to be so good, even when cold. Now they're terrible.

If you only look at the calorie content then yes, they look very similar but the chemical composition is very different and thus they impact your health in different ways… but let’s be honest… no potato chip is really “healthy “ but most people can fit some potato chips into a healthy diet… I guess if you eat a lot of potato chips then the slightly better ones might make a difference but if you eat a few chips once in a while I think having the ones you actually want is better.

Avocado & Olive oil are healthier fats. I don’t have vegetable oil in the house.

The hickory sounds good but I’d happily eat both if offered to me. Thanks for the review.

Some individuals with autoimmune diseases other oils can cause inflammation worsening their pain and symptoms so its nice to have that option. My go to personally is the OG lays

I just eat any type of oil in chips, etc. I use extra virgin olive oil in my vegetables. I love kettle chips any flavor the best!

Have you tried the great value ripple cut chips or target market pantry wavy I recently did and think they taste like how I remember lays tasting before they added soy .

My mom used to buy the Shoprite store brand wavy chips every grocery trip, and they were wayyyy greasier than Lay's. Idk if they changed the recipe since then though.

When it comes to potato chips I love that salty/greasy taste. However the Hickory BBQ does sound good. Like you, I will stick to what I like. Thanks for a great review.
