- The most anticipated new Virtual Reality (VR) coaster of the year made its debut at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the undisputed Thrill Capital of the World. The New Revolution - North America’s first fully-integrated VR roller coaster using Samsung Gear VR, powered by Oculus - was unveiled, providing a multi-dimensional virtual ride experience never before done on a looping, twisting coaster. From the moment riders board and don Samsung Gear VR headsets, the traditional roller coaster experience is transformed. High-definition imagery and storytelling sync with the unique track configuration creating a one-of-a-kind seamless “real world” to “virtual world” thrill-ride experience. Riders are now co-pilots seated in the cockpit of a true-to-life fighter jet, flying through a futuristic city while virtually engaged in a battle to protect the planet against alien invaders, all while racing over the 3,500 feet of twisting, turning, looping coaster track.

It's a recognized historical landmark. Seeing it restored to its original version would have to include getting rid of the trim brakes

+Frazette Brown well I don't think they can do much to viper to make it smoother but yes it could use a repaint. The trains are fine now because they took off the hair gel ads.

my point everybody was that a great ride needs no assistance just enjoy the coaster. I know when it opened....... and Schwartzkopf designed if correct. thanks. I just don't get the VR for an already awesome ride.

tbh the vr sucks because it doesn't work most of the time it is very blurry it does not show the loop i love the ride but the vr six flags is not your game and they have to clean them every time

It doesnt. They provide it. In my experience, it was very clear. Although the headsets are big and probably full of germs. However, they do their best to clean it with a disinfectant wipe before you put it on.

This ride sucks so much, the virtual reality headsets broke with me twice having gone the second time for no wait because of the first time it broke. I heard complaints behind me and they had the same issue. The headsets are extremely dirty, the conductors were rude, and the ride ended up giving me a lasting headache. It really wasn't worth the 1 hr wait even if it was a short line because it was in the heat of 2pm. I really hope they redo the mechanisms of this ride and decide on using higher tech instead of gear VR's for the virtual reality as it's just a plain waste to put them on. After it all, I felt like riding without the headset, at least I wouldn't be staring into a sixflags logo for the entire duration.
The ride is really good it's that u have to put your head back its the VR that sucks my cousin had trouble trying to put it on but she liked the ride though the staff that run it are friendly

The gear vr visuals are grainy. Just a gimmick for now. Don't waste your time.

You have an option once going on the ride, if you want to wear the headset or not, VERY recommended to wear it. Its amazing.

This is a really dumb idea. Not a chance in hell it lasts. A) It will take to much extra time to put these things on, many will go flying off of fat odd shaped heads or fools adjusting them B)nasty sweat C) they will break every five minutes D) some will panic & chuck them off their head or try holding them....worries me when coaster builders have no common sense or havent looked how hard a million tourists are on anything they stampede thru
