Westworld - Ghost in the Shell Tribute - Making of a Host

- Westworld has alot of similarities to the Ghost in the Shell philosophy as well as the construction scenes. When the newest episode premiered, and I saw Maeve emerging from the white industrial liquid like Motoko, I knew I had to make this.
2:41 This scene is just magical, you can even see heart pumping the "blood" around his body
and his face without any expressions gives this scene a unique feeling, like they're actually creating new life
I love the making of the eye.
I know it's so sick!
Mee too so cathartic!
I like that they didn't completely ripoff GITS but were rather inspired and added their own original elements and motifs. They brought known sci fi elements and old philosophical questions into new level and I loved it for it.
They ripped off fallout 4
@@kyranisaacson3909 fallout 4 was kinda garbo
i rescind my statement fallout 4 was great but fallout 4 did take inspiration from ghost in the shell slightly
I also love the fact that the original Westworld was created 17 years before the first animated GITS movie.
@@theunforgivensoldier4137yeah I was boutta say…
The influences go in this order - Metropolis (1927) > Westworld (1973) > Futureworld (1976) > Bladerunner (1982) > Terminator (1984) > Ghost in the Shell (1989/1995) > Ghost in the Shell: Innocence (2004) > Westworld (2016), it came full circle.
Sounds about right. Reminds me of when people say Ghost in the Shell looks inspired by the Matrix, full circle
Matrix was inspired by Ghost in the Shell
The "Robit" creation scene looks like it was taken straight from the pages of Fallout 4
Thank you for not including Ghost in the Shell 2017 : GiTSINO in that list.
Thank you so sooo much.

Don’t forget Fallout 4 (2016)
"They knew enough of beauty to teach it to us" ~ Dolores
🤣🤣🤣
1:38. Seeing Maeve's beautiful features appearing from the white liquid is so satisfying!
I like the vacuum 3D printer and the each muscle is made of small string silicone to make a bigger muscle that looks like human muscles
Host in the Shell
artificial intelligence doesn't just have to be from a CPU, it can be a a fully working sythetic brain
Or in westworld, there called cores.
Except it *is* a CPU that’s inside a brain.
@@Cyancat123 the human brain technically is a CPU. A very advanced one in that. So advanced that we are capable to do pretty wild sh*t, invent crazy stuffs and even become reckless and stupid sometimes.
You say that like it’s easier
@@TonyTylerDraws it is easy, just not now..
Kinda reminds me of the “institute” in fall out 4. The eye scene was beautiful.
I believe this is what the Institute is based off of
Love this. I really admire your editing choices here
The bit with the eye is my favourite
Seb Emmerson yes that was great
Mine too.
major was biomechanical cyborg. this gen hosts are synthetic biological androids.
Yes I am aware. Motoko was basically full cyborg, only organic part was parts of her cyberbrain but she was still originally a human.
***** ww totally copied the skin bath process from ghost.
Same with Fallout 4
except ww hosts have c-4 in their spines, set to explode.
don't be buthurt...
Isn’t it also the way synths are made in fallout 4
I was literally thinking that
Strong inspiration or plagiarism? And from whom?
@Matthew Garcia it's direct homage. nobody said art had to be unique. GITS itself is built upon years of scifi and philosophy.
It is, minus the underwear, the gene pool automatically creates, for the synths.
Not only the making was havely influenced by GITS, but the very concept of THE ghost in the shell itself which was greatly deplored in westworld season 2, where some hosts realized the talking ghost is themself.
What’s scary is when you consider the technology that already exists enables 3-D printing of organs this technology is not too far off base as far as possible future tech goes.
they can now 3d print electrics ....this kind of 3d printing technology can now happen, just takes money.
Its not so simple, we're years ahead, maybe decades to reach this level
@@pedroantonio5031 Maybe in the labs you've been to...
Only officially pal , only officially...
Anyone remember the “Leonardo device” from the Syndicate games?
It was also based on the Vitruvian man, used to replace your agents limbs with synthetic ones in gruesome fashion.
Fallout 4 also has a version of this cyborg/synth creation process by the way.
Absolutely incredible on so many levels----bravo! More, please!
Getting addicted to this incredible video.... Thank you!
This was stupid
Love this! Only disappointed they didn't show the making and placement of internal organs.
Nicely made tribute, well done !
I’d request to have my body NOT pre circumcised thank you
It’d be pretty tho because you have no scars lol
You aren't circumcised? Sorry man 🙏
because you want to do it yourself?
@@Izzy-zf1fl your just jealous you dont get any delicious dick cheese
seriously tho the foreskin has a purpose, it is loose and slides around so it is a natural lubricant. you just gotta have basic hygiene if you have one
Dammit, this makes so well!
pigghoti I Know
Westworld probably found its way out of development hell by borrowing from Ghost In the Shell. By S2, without any subtler or two-sided philosophical grounds to pillage, it was left with nothing but temporal fugue-tricks and twists that overstayed their welcome.
The intro is chilling 😊
DUDE DAM SOOOOOOO COOOOOL 😮 AND THE MUSIC 🎉
awesome editing !
Man, to be able to remake myself without the flaws I was born with...but my life experiences intact. I would be unstoppable!!
Talk about a living 3d human body printer
In Westworld everyone is a grower and a shower.
I revisit this seminal collaboration often, because the mind wants what it wants - a yearning for perfection, purpose, and poise. - A°ggresario
I will NEVER understand how they made a working eye. Not a camera, and EYE. I know making artificial muscles is possible and sentient AI is in our future, but something as complex as a human eye seems like it would be impossible.
would be easiest for them. we have cameras yet no artificial muscles. those eyes are cameras with handcrafted details as sawing the iris. after you have synthetic muscles. silent, lightweight, strong, fiber thin muscles, you can do anything and everything.
Makes me think of Bullfrogs 1993 game, Syndicate.
That was actually awesome
"Strong hated that"
X6-88 liked that.
WW was such a great show. S1&2
Some of y’all haven’t played fallout 4 and gone to the institute and it shows
THIS MUSIC SHOULD BE IN A AVATAR MOVIE
This was SPECTACULAR! - KL91
amazing work 👁
So this is basically the institute from fallout
How did fallout not get sued over this and vice versa😂. They both came out within a year of each other and match the synth making process down to the frame.
This is like some Fith Element Stuff
Hello! I am David.
Hey look, it's the synth machine from fallout 4
Is this how The Institute makes their synths?
This is freaky as fuck! But I can't stop watching it!
somehow it feels better for me than with the originals sounds of Westworld
For the late gymnast Hilary Grivinch!!!!!!!!
Blows my mind how similar this is to SLA 3d printing.
This is very neat but I'm opposed to using this song.
In Motoko's case, the song was meant to symbolize the marriage of flesh and machine, the creation of a Cyborg.
These, are not Cyborgs. Therefore using this wedding song is... It's not good. Come across as Hollywood Shallow.
In our reality they are already making robots with skeletons
To this day, rivetting, and how.
Cada rostro cuenta una historia genética diferente.
Amazing
very much fallout 4 institute vibes
This comment may be late, but you could do the same thing for the 5th Element
Sa ressemble plus à la création des synthétiques de Fallout 4
AWESOME MUSIC LOVE IT FANTASTIC
This is a Japanese Shinto Marriage song that brides sing, and this song was originally featured in the Ghost in the Shell movie series
Ah, so THIS is the idea that was poached from Fallout 4's "Creation of a Gen. 3 Synth."
OMG...I thought the same when I first saw this.
perhaps in twenty years
Looks more like fallout 4's the institute how they make synths
I know right.
They want to know something scary and dark... that scene is no longer sci-fic... it is a window to the future that is approaching day after day.
A version with kugutsuuta ura mite chiru would be perfect (it's from the second movie
I can't agree more :')
I liked the first one more
@@canobenitez me too but I would like to see it with this version as Well
It's alive!!
how does this renditions havethe best audio-quality
Genious
I want to get an SLA printer for my rapid prototyping business so much rn. So far we only have FDM
What does it remind me of making a synth?
Huh. I just recently saw all seasons from Westworld. From which episode is this scene? Must be really early?
They have the ability to make Synthetic humans, Yet they did not think to make synthetic mythical creatures.
why not make a dragon or a minotaur?
More Human than Human.

Kendime yapilan ve ehlibeyte yapilan vahsetleri...
Ezelden daim uygulanan ..
Gives me Fallout 4 vibes particularly the Institute
the institute?
Someone else find the idea of use this state of the art technology to make a theme park incredibly stupid?
yes it is xD but they kind of explain the purpose of the park in season 2 and 3 so i recommend you to watch it if you want some answer to that
"Not a theme park... An entire world." - Ford. The concept of Westworld is obviously absurd in and of itself. It works though, because the concept of the park is directly anchored to its creators (Ford) god complex. Which is why I think the show has struggled after season 1. Ford was the glue that held the show together.
@@dnykeg yes, the first season was amazing. The rest got worse and worse. The third season was so bad.
It doesn't matter the intention of their use
Military
Maids
Theme Park characters
They used the technology to create something fun for the world to enjoy while everyone else brought back slavery and killed each other in newer ways
Its not stupid, if its profitable
The new Red dead looks good
"What a twist", eh?
I know this is mostly CGI effects - but what if they could do this for real and rebuild our bodies xxx
Would be terrifying bro, allthough it could be usefull in a sense that maybe you can have your mind transfered into one to live on past your "experation date"
@@Yoda2422true. Our minds are programmed to expect death, if we just kept on living in our minds, I reckon we’d go a bit mad.
Жаль, но 1 сезон так и остался лучшим, второй уже шел на спад, 3 и 4 я смотрел без интереса.
100, 200 or maybe even ̶3̶̶0̶̶0̶ *400* !!! years till we get this technology

More like we've had it for over 100 years... Well the public hasn't had access to it. But welcome to the real world.
Nah, with the right Budget some shady scientists who dont give a damn about ethics could probably do it, in fact i think they may be allready doing things like this but would you really want the public to know about it, some people are not ready for something like that.
Give it 50
Мне кажется, или использованы куски из сериала " Дикий дикий запад"?
What the 3d printer...
Yapay(sentetik) bir kas türü mü var elinizde? Mevcut olandan daha iyisi? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Im curious how the making of an animal host would look.
Cómo sé llama la película
I wonder how long
Is it Pygmalion or Frankenstein? Or both?
ウエスタン!!
I want a synth of myself ❤
spooky
i came here from fallout 4 synth production

What is the origin of this movie
Gracias por hacerme el gasto en mi guy bisnees
Muchos demaciados de esos y esas ciborgs porfabor
Nice sense
Anybody got this as an stl?
Don't forget Darkman, with their 3d printed of human skin.
3D printing came a long way
is this also how they create replicants in Blade Runner or is that an entirely different process?
Process is a little different. Replicants are borderline between synths and organic to the point one was able to produce a child. So it's likely are artificially grown, not built. Although you can make the case they are human given they could potentially breed with humans like the biroid cylons from the battlestar series
Both can pretty much be classified as biroids however and legally be synthetic lifeforms
I think replicants are people with modified DNA that are syntheticly grown in a Lab probably.
