@@thiago.j9913 Deft's team last Year was DRX. It is a completely different team than the one he's in this year, DPlus Kia, previously called Damwon KIA. So he did change team between last year and this year. DRX is still in LCK but didn't attend Worlds.

He was hitting rank 1 solo Q in Korea for seasons on end. He was the best player that never won a worlds title until 2022. Crazy how he's the oldest player to ever win a world title when he's only 27 lol

Deft is such a nice, humble human being. What in incredible story. He deserved this. So awesome that he just sat amongst his fans to experience this together.
As a NewJeans fans, I'm so glad they did the anthem which made me come across Deft and his story under the comments.

I’m also a NewJeans fan! I learned about Deft earlier this year when he did that two part episode with Sakura from LESSERAFIM. My boyfriend plays League of Legends and he informed me about Deft after I asked him. I have the utmost respect for Deft.

@@szwniki I'm late but Deft is one of the most iconic and legendary players in the scene. He never won anything major until 2022 but he was always the highlight of his team. He has a crazy rivalry with the best player of all time Faker, and had a bromance like relationship with his ex teammate Keria, now in a team with Faker.(you can see all of this in the NewJeans GODs music video). His story is like a whole movie that made me cry when I watched it live.
He never won anything major until 2022 is quite inaccurate when he won the first ever MSI in 2015, defeating Faker
What makes Deft’s story so inspiring is how we were able to see him throughout the years, his growth and all the pain from the uncertainty. He is quite soft spoken and thinks things through before saying them, a true mature player and veteran. No matter what happens in the future, he is a living legend
and the only seed 4 could touch the cup. that is rather a miracle of god give to him to be honest. No one could even imagine that Drx coud beat GenG, then JDG and beat up T1 on the BO5, which is their stength.
I was not very familiar with the story of Deft and I was always underrating him. As a biased EU fan, I even considered DRX weaker than Fnatic, Rogue and G2 at last year's Worlds. But after that reverse sweep against EDG, everything changed. After he broke into tears after Sjokz told him it's more than 2000 days since he made the semi-finals of Worlds.... it showed how much it meant to him. And to be able to go all the way and beat Faker and T1 in the final (perhaps the greatest final of all time).... This is a timeless story of how you should never give up, no matter what! I am now a huge fan of this legend. Thank you, Deft for this incredible journey and good luck in your next adventures! And thank you Riot for making this story feel more special!
realistically, if you take absolute cieling, drx probably only had the 9th highest (behind fnatic and 7 asian teams). pretty much everything that couldve aligned for them aligned, pretty much everything that couldve gone wrong for everyone else had. im not trying to diminish their incredible achievement, but putting them below eu teams was very much justified.

I don’t really know League (I play some Wild Rift) but even as a casual viewer, DRX’s run was magical. The mental fortitude and team play they showed throughout the entire tournament were reminiscent of that other Cinderella run in esports: OG. Whatever happens this year or in the subsequent years: Deft beat Faker and T1 to win the Summoner’s Cup. The process and result are both there. Everything else is a bonus.
DRX was not lucky. They beat RNG (2022 MSI champions) in play ins, then Top Esports in groups. In the knockout stage they had to defeat EDG after losing a game due to the inhibitor respawning, then GenG, only to face T1 in the final winning despite Gumayusi stealing TWO barons. They faced and defeated the best teams in the world in extremely adverse situations.@@semnejlepsi8983
@@semnejlepsi8983 I wouldn't say luck isn't on their opponents' side though... EDG's inhibitor respawn and T1's multiple Baron steals are not things that have gone wrong for them
You could see he was overcome with emotion watching the video. Kinda weird to be sitting in a crowd experiencing it haha and immediately asked their opinion. I wouldn't be able to process all of it. His words were so humble and wise, and it's good to know he's so proud of himself. I wasn't a huge Deft fan, but I am now!

He has also been the most consistent player in DK this year too. Hope Showmaker and Canyon can maintain their form, and this trio is still capable to win it all.

No matter how well and consistent Deft plays, D+ are lucky to make it past swiss if Showmaker and Canyon don't both show up.
Deft is my favourite player. He's my example of perseverance, of never giving up on your dreams and keep fighting to make them a reality.
Even though im a T1 fan and i was sad at first they lost you gotta admit Defts story is incredible. A true underdog who climbed his was up without ever giving up. Him and the rest of his team truely deserved it. They played out of their minds. What a fantastic ending to the world series.
Watching Deft react to the video and tell how he felt throughout the entire worlds last year made me cry even more. Deft is such a humble person. Wishing many more successes.

작년에이어 올해까지 감동적인 스토리가 있어서 참 좋았습니다. 프로세계에서 이런 감동스토리가 있으면 더 많은 인기를 얻게 되겠죠. 데프트선수나 페이커선수는 다른선수들에게도 좋은 귀감이 되는 훌륭한 선수라 더욱 그런생각이 드네요. 외국은 이런 감동스토리를 팬들에게 많이 소개하려고 노력하는데 국내 다른 프로스포츠에서도 그런노력들이 많아졌으면 합니다.
노래만 들었을때는 와 노래좋다 했는데 유튜브로 가사해석 영상이랑 데프트를 응원하는 수많은 댓글들보고나서 데프트도 안울었는데 내가울뻔 ㄷㄷ

Seeing some of Deft's journey makes me proud of him. I can't express how fantastic this MV is. It's awesome to be able to see every single one of his games. He is one of the most humble GODS I've ever met.
I am not a league fan per say because of the community but deft in general is onenof the most soft spoken person I've seen ever..and he plays league ..can you imagine. Just for that i am a fan.
Deft may not have realized it at the time but he was the perfect example of being the main character of this story of worlds 2022. He knows what hes capable of and believes he can achieve being the best, but hes not arrogant. Hes calm, collected, and has faith in himself and his abilities as a player but also in his team and coaching staff. Giving up his spotlight game 5 against T1 he sacrificed himself and his lane by letting Beryl play Bard to benefit the team more than his lane to get them the win. And now even in this video he stated I made mistakes but he still holds strong in his belief that he played his best as did his team. People still dont think DRX was a good team to begin with and EDG, T1, and GENG all played not to their potential and thats why DRX won and I dont believe that to be the case. On paper the players of DRX were not the best analytically and statistically, but they all know their potential and they played up to it when it mattered most, and that is what truly makes this run exquisite and very much so one of the best worlds performances there will likely ever be.
Man, I can only imagine the emotions running through his mind watching this. What a story and what a well deserved tribute!

Ngl I wasn’t a fan of gamers until I heard about deft now I’m invested and to see how a lot of other gamers respect him and it’s all love is amazing I hope he has more years in this and his team is just as amazing yes they aren’t the main character but you always need pillars and if they weren’t a team I don’t think things would’ve worked out how they are now so the whole team is great and deft deserves all the love.
So glad u won it all last year it was best finals i ever saw.. U totally deserved it Deft.. U will be remembered for best journey at worlds EVER.. Ur champ!!

as an old KT fan, i remember when kt was eliminated in 2018 worlds after losing to IG in the quarterfinals. that game was very close and he did his best, but disappointed fans blamed him. after that, Deft was considered an "old" or "past his prime time" player at the time as well. no more top teams in the league reached hand out to him and eventually he ended up playing in drx with players of being rated tier B or C and also young players with no experience. until the worlds began, nobody believed them and did not expect them. "coming to the worlds!! you guys well done. but that's all for you guys" honestly most of us thought like this. but they proved it as you already know.

Since I was a kpop fan who never played League until last year, I discovered him when he featured in Sakura’s two part episode where they do activities together. I’m glad I discovered him even late, because his story is inspiring and incredible. I have the utmost respect for him. Such a legend.

As a T1 fan it was sad to see them lose but seeing these, Deft also really deserved that win. And T1 got to win the next year which was also Faker's 10th year, I think it all played out beautifully so that everyone got a much more meaningful victory 👏🏻

I'm a T1 fan, but I would not change a thing from last year. 2022 was such an insane year for LoL and despite always being 2nd place, it was a good time to be a T1 fan. All winners deserved their wins and we would not have the storylines and history we have now if it was not for the outcomes of last year.

데프트나 페이커나 어린 나이에 저런 자리에 설 수 있었던 것이 저런 성숙한 감정을 가질 수 있었기 때문이 아닐까 하는 생각이 든다.
무심해 보일 정도로 담담한 표정과 크게 분출하지 않고 드러나지 않는 수많은 감정이 저 속에 얼마나 많을까... 그럼에도 그걸 버틸 수 있었던 것이 저들의 성공의 큰 디딤돌이었을 거라는 생각이 든다

it's like the moment that I was hard stuck in Silver/Gold for multiple seasons and then managed to reach Diamond on my last attempt before being inactive in League. Hard work truly pays off.

its so heartwarming and im so happy for deft. he and his team deserves it. I'm a T1 fan and i cried watching keria cry but deft and his team deserves their win. LCK teams are really great! One thing i always liked about this player, is that he always stayed composed, but not without emotions/feelings, he never gave up, had to adapt to a lot of metas and structures/teams, met a lot of different playstyles mates, and was always a real deal at the bot lane, even if never got the rewards he worked so hard for ! And when you hear him, you can feel the kind person he is behind his calm, soft and sweet voice !
Deft is really a nice guy, you can tell it just by listening to his words in all his interviews in the past. He doesn't act like he is "someone" while still giving his best, and hoping for just a bit of rewards/recognition for all the hard work.
Hopefully after more than 10 years it finally paid off, i'm so happy for this person ! ^^

@Habeev07 i am croatian and he is nowhere close to being eu/western GOAT. He got hard carried by Caps and outside of that one series vs RNG he has been mediocre mid with super strong teammates that carry him. From wunder ,jankos,caps to zven,mithy and mikyx. And his last 3 years absolutely prove that.
