Honestly i still can't see that we are a playoff team. We might get lucky in the play-in and get through the playoffs but we're gonna bump out of the first round. As i see it, victor should be smart about jacking up those 3s, i sometimes sees him being clumsy on defense too. I agree with perk he can't lead us to the playoffs, not yet a least.
Tighten up the rotation to 9 man. CP3 and castle can share court together but at least one of them needs to be in for the duration of the game running point. Tre doesn’t need to step on court again if he’s not running point. If you need a 10th man then Mamu is a better option to provide a little bit of shooting.
You know we had one of our best players coming off the bench for years(Manu). Why is that you ask?!? Because it basically gave us one of the most dominant benches and with that you would not lose any momentum. I think if you kept Devin and Keldon on the bench, it would basically give us two starting squads. Webby works great with shooters around him, Barnes, Julian, and Paul are great enough to space him and we as spurs fans should know that you can't win Championships without defense so Sochon and Castle with Wemby on the defensive end is great. The final minutes of the game is when the real starters show up anyway and that's when you'll see more of that 5 on the floor together.

You know that having an efficient jumpshot is not just about work right? Not everyone can become a decent (efficient) whatever the work and hours per days you put in. In fact the vast majority of player with below average 3P% will never become decent in their career... BUT, if Someone could force Sochan to completely change his broken and slow jumpshot, maybe, just maybe a good thing could happen? He need to rework the form from the start... and he'll probably be really bad, with just a sparkle of hope than one day it'll be a much accurate shooter. No guarantee.

Some minutes could be given to Zach, Malaki, Blake and Mamu depending on the context. Sidi Cissoko should be kept in G.League (where he is not good btw). Barnes should be benched. He has bench guy all over him and can help him get more offensive focus. But most importantly he is awful on defense so Sochan/Castle should start
If Castle keeps improving at his current rate I'm not so sure Paul will be the starter by end of season. I know Paul is the point god but the team needs one guy that defenses have to focus on because of their penetrating ability to the basket. That's why I think Brandon Ingram would put the Spurs offensively on a different level.
@bigfootyancey defenses already focus on Wemby. This is a learning year. CP3 came here to start. Maybe just one year but he won't and shouldn't come off the bench. Castle still has costly turnovers and very limited offensively, he has time to improve.
I say start Stephon over Vassell. Not because he's better but because I'm a big believer in having one of the better players come off the bench to add that spark. Manu said he started to enjoy coming off the bench because it allowed him to read the game and come in with the proper adjustments. Vassell is a smart scorer who could be a Manu 2.0.

He's in fact 3rd best on the roster (Wemby 1st, and Bassey 2nd) Defense is not just rim defense... he's still a great disruptor, active and focus on D, with lot of communication => team D is way better when he's on the court. (D metrics says: Castle is atm below league average on D, and sochan is just exactly average) On offense you put Castle and Sochan as starter? it'll never work, 2 bad shooter will destroy the team offensive rating, no one will be able to drive, the paint will be clog, the turnover will go up, everyone will be double or more...

good lineup to tank you're right! 2 bad shooter starting the game will clog the paint on offense like you never seen and double/triple everyone. Wemby will have 3x more Turnovers per games and will never ever see the paint again. But if you want to tank, yeah it's perfect. 1 bad shooter is already to much for my taste, but 2 as a starter will never work. Sochan > Generally when you draft an undersized PF it's because he have shooting skills... You can't put an undersized 4 at Center (where the lack of shooting would not be as much of an issue), he's to small for that... so you are stuck with the 4 where he hurt the spacing for his 4 teammates Castle > I'm higher on him, I think he can become a way better shooter than Sochan (at least his jumpshot is way faster) but atm he's a liability on offense, and the more he'll be scouted the more he'll hurt his teammates (because his D will not stick on him)

@bigfootyancey defenses already focus on Wemby. This is a learning year. CP3 came here to start. Maybe just one year but he won't and shouldn't come off the bench. Castle still has costly turnovers and very limited offensively, he has time to improve.

Jeremy Sochan cannot play many minutes with Wemby. It would be a mistake if the San Antonio Spurs think their minutes together are desirable.
I say start Stephon over Vassell. Not because he's better but because I'm a big believer in having one of the better players come off the bench to add that spark. Manu said he started to enjoy coming off the bench because it allowed him to read the game and come in with the proper adjustments. Vassell is a smart scorer who could be a Manu 2.0.
...i like castle to start over Barnes...castle is better... he's a better defensive player on offense they're both about the same...with that starting line up you have three defensive liabilities in cp3 Barnes and vassell...say what you want of vassell but he's not a great or even good defender...with castle you have three great defenders in wemby sochan and castle...I rather Barnes come off the bench...with Julian keldon tre and bassey for now...cause we all know bassey has one good game and then disappears for awhile...
just FYI *CP3* at 39yo is still way above league average on defense, as all his D ratings shows.
He's in fact 3rd best on the roster (Wemby 1st, and Bassey 2nd)
Defense is not just rim defense... he's still a great disruptor, active and focus on D, with lot of communication
=> team D is way better when he's on the court.
(D metrics says: Castle is atm below league average on D, and sochan is just exactly average)
On offense you put Castle and Sochan as starter? it'll never work, 2 bad shooter will destroy the team offensive rating, no one will be able to drive, the paint will be clog, the turnover will go up, everyone will be double or more...
@aspleen1102 ...third best in front of castle...whatever...you must be a cp3 superfan...I don't know what D ratings your talking about...but I'm gonna go ahead and believe what my eyes see... he's not above average he's just average...you think before curry that everybody was taking 3s like they are right now...teams were lucky to have 1 3 point specialist... they'll be good with castle and sochan...just like when Duncan parker and Manu were on the team... it's all about defense...castle and sochan have decent range from the outside they could keep th defense honest...you said castle is below average on defense...right now castle is known for his defense right now as a rookie...it's wemby castle and sochan you can switch castle and sochan if you want but they are the three best spurs defender's...and I would put vassell ahead of cp3 and maybe even Julian...but that's ok cause Spurs got cp3 for other things and not his defense...I'm not saying he's a liability I've might of said that but he's not...but he's not an above average defender either...

Honestly y'all don't want to hear this, but Castle is our second best player as of right now and should not be benched, you would have to swap Champagnie for Devin and Barnes for Sochan, and Chris Paul should obviously start because he's our anchor.

@jonyboi21 that's if they're hitting shots. With that group rebounding is very lackluster. Sochan only improves this team. Castle can still learn a lot coming off the bench. He has costly turnovers and jumper still needs some work. Barnes ,castle and keldon off the bench brings scoring , solid D and veteran presence

@GetmemyWemby ...winning should be our focus since we got wemby...our players are young...but the core have been on the team for at least 3 season's or more...wemby is on his second season but he's a super star type player he's judged different from regular player's...the only young player we have to develop is castle and we're done ng that... it's time to win...like the thunder and rockets they're as young as the spurs...you say development but who...we shouldn't use that word anymore when it comes to this team we need to win...this player's are old enough to know what they're doing by now

Wemby 20, Castle 20, Sochan 21, Vassel 24. the only reason those teams have a younger average age is because we have Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes. We need to be patient.

2 bad shooter starting the game will clog the paint on offense like you never seen and double/triple everyone.
Wemby will have 3x more Turnovers per games and will never ever see the paint again. But if you want to tank, yeah it's perfect.
1 bad shooter is already to much for my taste, but 2 as a starter will never work.
Sochan > Generally when you draft an undersized PF it's because he have shooting skills... You can't put an undersized 4 at Center (where the lack of shooting would not be as much of an issue), he's to small for that... so you are stuck with the 4 where he hurt the spacing for his 4 teammates
Castle > I'm higher on him, I think he can become a way better shooter than Sochan (at least his jumpshot is way faster) but atm he's a liability on offense, and the more he'll be scouted the more he'll hurt his teammates (because his D will not stick on him)
