Just before trimming, I had to pause video and hunt down a reeses peanut butter cup! Thanks for sharing!

Good instructions on use of tools and clay dryness -- I always make the mistake of not waiting for the clay to be "cheese-cutting" consistency. THX!

Thank you! I must admit I am sometimes impatient and I try to trim when the clay is too soft. 🤣

can you tell me about the trimming bat that you are using

It's a batmate by Xiem. It is a piece of material that holds water. It kind of feels like a chamois. It helps with trimming bowls and plates. But it doesn't really work for me for vertical forms like mugs. Sometimes I use this batmate and sometimes I just put water on the wheel head or on a regular bat and then suction the piece with the water. What I like about using this is that it stays wet longer than just putting water on the wheel head or a regular bat. But it does take some getting used to. Hope that helps

Thanks for the demo it looks great. What clay and bat cover did you use? Thanks. Trish

The clay is from Laguna - 614 - my first time using it. Very nice to work with but I haven't fired it yet so that's all I know about it so far. The bat cover (called a bat gripper) is from Xiem. it is supposed to keep your bat from moving. But when it wet it, it works pretty well holding bowls when trimming.
      Glad you liked the video!
