Cool vid and damn potholes! Never apologise!! As long as you've enjoyed - do your vids when you get chance! Great when you take people home - but fab when you get the odd night off the staff car! Just subbed too : )
Making this video on the back end of a late shift and making it good, bravo sir! We don't have this whole 'staff bus / car' set up. :( 90% of shifts start or finish leaving no services to hop on either and no staff parking, I'm a little jealous. TBH if we had such a thing, I doubt much like yourselves that anyone would really want to hang around for it either. Would be a nice back up to have if needed mind.
Great video as usual mate, shame that nobody wanted the staff bus which threw a spanner in the works for your video, but in the plus side that’s an extra hours pay for you 😉
Hi mate been subscribed for a month or two now , and I find your vlogs really interesting 👍 happy new year to you and your family and keep up the good work 👍
Thank you so much for the support mate, you have no idea how much it means to me! We've had a great start to the new year. I hope you have too! take care matey
That bus station is massive we got a tiny one in Poole holds about 12 busses and the one in Bournemouth might as well be flattened as only national express and 3 other services use it
I'll be honest it's a great bus station, it could do with a refurb on the inside but I support metro can't keep throwing money in to it. Its just had the outside painted and looks 100% better than what it did before. I don't know what id do with a small bus station if it got busy. Even in the side of our station we sometimes cant pull onto stand in good time as other operators are there! its a pain at times haha The coaches use stand A B :)
TheLCNW the bus station in Bournemouth is in the wrong place In fact I’d say it’s more of a taxi rank than a bus station and as for what they do in town that’s just dangerous
The Flat Cap Bus Driver that happens in Poole and when I moved from Cardiff there busses took a lot of getting used to as to different companies can’t use tickets on each others busses they give change Cardiff don’t ow and when you have a problem with your ticket in Poole they tell you to fuck off back to Cardiff the drivers for all companies are brilliant can’t fault them it’s the muppets in the office I don’t like
I just came across this. Reminded me of my days of driving, back then before the dreaded Stagecoach buyout it was Hull Corporation Transport or Corpo as it was known. We had a similar set up - 3.30am AD shift two men each with a minibus picking up the drivers who needed to be at the depot for 4.30. Great shift, you could be finished for the day by 7am if the inspector was in a good mood! Similar late shift finishing at 1.15am, last bus into depot for midnight and then drop drivers home. Ah but how do you get to and from work for these shifts? We had a night shunter who picked /dropped you off. He was there to park up the vehicles after the cleaners had done with them. Those were the days ( I left in 2000)
It’s 3.5km from my bus depot to home. I take my car as to walk would take about 20 to 25 minutes. Also it may be raining or at night, so the car is the best option. There would be no call for a staff bus as our shifts often finish at vastly different times. There is no depot supervisor, so we park the bus, check it over, do the logbook work, lock up, and drive home. Picton, South Island, New Zealand.
I usually see a lot of drivers get on buses I love this video I get on buses every single day rather 148 149 or 189 then 125 depends how quick I need to get home
U've got staff buses in your place ?!! Wow !! Here in South India, a totally exhausted driver who have driven 6 singles (1single= 60kms) in a shift must go home by himself. U people are lucky
We use taxies for our 'staff bus' and to get one you just need to live in a place that doesn't have a bus service at the time you want to get to work or head home, so they get used lots. But back in the day (30 years ago), there was an early and late bus service from the main depots that ran a fixed route.
My local Arriva depot in Southend have a delivery van type minibus that we use for the staff bus duty between Southend Depot and Southend Bus Station and I see quite a lot of drivers at Southend Bus Station use it
Hahahah they are honestly really decent here! They Don’t take the pi** out of people and always help folk out so least I can do is ask if they need owt hahah unless it’s over time hahahah 😂😂😂
as always sarah thank you for the comment. Ive had a lovely week, just had my two days off!! how has your week been :) once again thank you and i hope you've had a lovely week
@@TheFlatCapBusDriver you welcome Shaun. It great you had a good week. Mines been good. I saw my friends at Gems. (A club for adults with disabilities) on Tues. I had an awesome time. It was good to see everyone again after the Christmas break. 😀😃🚌🚍
always wondered how's the transition feel when going from driving a huge vehicle to a small one ,,bus to car, I find it difficult enough driving my car lol 😅😅
If I pay in extra, I ALWAYS take it the next 😜 it’s better in my pocket, than theirs. I got a nice little bonus today! I noticed my cash tray was slightly open in my bag & had coins floating around the bottom of my bag. After counting everything up, I was £7 up - So all the times I was down the odd quid, I wasn’t.
I sometimes use the staff bus but as at my depot it is in so much high demand it’s a pain. So I walk 20 minutes. My depot generally use their Minibus which drops off at local areas around the depot within a 3 mile radius.
pain sometimes isn't it! not having a car was a right pain in the bottom but its all good now! I still use the staff bus but only when its a late finish:)
But I do suppose that the Staff bus is a good idea to encourage drivers to drive for them. And a thing about it, it’s entirely free which is an added benefit as your not footing the cost of petrol/diesel.
@@TheFlatCapBusDriver Fair enough. Suppose it's an easier life even more, as your shifts will be easier and having to deal with less traffic with it being a Sunday
its a difficult one to answer mate, its down to the fact of whether you have business insurance on your car. if something happens then its all on your own back! some people do and some dont its down to the driver really
@@yorkshireseasider Ive a wife and two kids mate, if its something you'd like to do then honestly id ask a few companies will pay for your training so your not loosing any money :) give it a go if you like :)
