- Опубликовано: 22 июл 2024
- Lets go over some interesting aspects of the latest Nissan Z! This is the new 2023 Nissan Z Performance and it has replaced the outgoing 370Z. I have owned two different Nissan 370Z's and currently own an R35 GTR. This new Z is a car I plan on buying and so I figured I'd nit pick the new Z a bit and find some quirks with the new Z! As expected the gas cap is huge! Even bigger than the 370. I don't know why. Exhaust has a tiny muffler and doesn't sound all too good in the high RPM. and theres still more quirks to show! Check out this video and see what is funky with the new Nissan Z! Some are good, some are not so good and other quirks with the new 2023 Nissan Z are just funny ;)

Should put a motor on that gas cap and use it as air brake 😂
Haha that’d probably work quite well!
Active aero
Great Vid & Thank you for sharing the 8 Q's. I just got myself the 2023 Nissan Z Coupe in Gun Metallic & it has been on my wish list for 10 yrs. & so glad that I had waited patiently for the All-New 2023 Nissan Z. I already had a name picked out when I came face to face upon delivery. "Mi Amor" means My Love lol
Very cool! Such a fun car! I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. But hopefully in the next month or so
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Awesome & I am excited for you!! Have fun & Stay Safe.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed The Perks of living in Guam, USA. Japan is our neighbor.
@@Shynsweetn haha yeah! They are slowly trickling into the states
That gas cap is a Aerowing-Flap, when you pop it and take right turns it helps go around faster... VERY COOL!!!
haha maybe!
Nice review. What an awesome machine. I like the cupholder feature and the trunk release button. 👌
Glad you liked it! Those are both neat features for this Nissan!
The seat adjustment buttons on the seats next to the console were like this on the first gen Infiniti G35 I bought back in 2003.
Interesting to still see that placement, it's neat though!
I know it man, I just got my hands on a G35x Sedan (2005), and it's actually so damn convenient to have them right there
@@BrosFOURRSpeed On the higher end models with the multi-way power seats, you have a few switches that look like window switches for the base raising/lowering in the front and back, as well as a lever on the side of the seat for lumbar support, it's very interesting indeed
The G35/V35 was the first car launched on Nissan's FM platform. A modified version of that platform is still used today in the new Z.
Love these. Great video!
Can't wait until more of these start making their way to dealers. Theres only 1 for sale by me and they want 94k. I think once more start showing up, the prices will go down.
Yeah it'll be nice to see them on the road! Dealers are being stupid with the Photo Spec cars! Once they realize people aren't paying that, they'll quit. I'll be buying my Performance at MSRP ;)
Wow I’m actually pretty impressed with the cup holder tech! So simple but what great utility!
It really is! Pretty functional if this is your daily and you need that space!
My wife always complained about the single cup holder when I had my 370z every time we went out to eat lol glad to see Nissan thought about their customer feedbacks.
Yeah this is a great solution! And the Supra was always a bit annoying with it right in the armrest. So they really took the benefits of the Z and Supra and made the perfect situation!
There's one in the door too
The 370s have 3 cup/bottle holders.
@@sarielhirsch7921 I’m talking about the single cup holder in the center console. The one on the doors couldn’t hold anything bigger than a water bottle
I like how it also shows km/h. It’s useful if you’re driving into Canada or something cuz the road signs all read Km/h
Yeah I can see that for a small % of owners
most cars from nissan since like 1998 have put the windows down with the fob. my buddies 98 maxima did it. also, check settings in the infotainment for putting them back up with the key. MIGHT be an option for it
Hmmm, I don't have the car anymore, so I'll check that when mine comes in, but I didn't see anything this time!
My 2008 g37s coupe rolled down as well with un locking. Love the quirk video 🔥
Oh nice! Cool feature to have!
It makes you look expensive lol whatever that means.
@@Hondacbr600rrish yeah really! Fancy option
Yeah even the 350Z had the ability to put the windows up by putting the key in the drivers door lock and holding in the lock position. A company even made a mod I think that you could install in the car to add key fob windows up functionality.
I read in the past that the NTSB requires all vehicles to post the speed in both MPH and KMH. That why the analogs always had the inlay of Kmh next to the MPH. Now that most dash’s are becoming digital, the antiquated rule still applied which required automakers to have a second smaller KMH off to a corner. MB, BMW & Porsche that don’t have a function to switch from MPH to KMH has a second digital kmh also displayed off to a corner.
I wonder if the window motors fail on these new ones as well later in time. It's too bad that you can't power up the windows using the key or fob. I still would like another keyhole added to the passenger side too. I've run into a jam on my old 350 where I needed to get in and my driver-side keyhole lock was jammed. Having one on the other side really helps out and it doesn't really take away from the look/style of the car. How is the quality of the materials? Has that changed too or same as the previous versions?
Interesting. Most cars seem to only have the driver door have a hole. Build quality seems nice. It still feels like a Nissan but nice and solid I'd say. A better version of the 370
I currently own a 1990 300zx twin turbo with everything you can imagine and it still looks like it’s off the showroom floor. No outrageous wings tails just simple wings west body kit. 235/40/18 275/35/18 with racing Hart m5 painted 2006 350z chrome silver. Greedy sp2 down test pipes. I can control the boost within the vehicle. Sundown audio with 7 speakers
screaming like iPods in your ears. I get the shakes after 20 years of owning it when I drive.
How’s the wind buffering at speed? (The other BMW Supra issue)
Non! Perfect with the windows down ;)
The wind noise you are describing with the exhaust is because the turbos are internally wastegated so imagine a screamer pipe integrated with your stock exhaust. Technically it is wind escaping the car, but with context it's way cooler IMO.
Can’t wait to see some mods on these cars to make them come alive
Oh yeah! I think this car will really wake up upgraded!
Such an amazing car🔥💯. I plan on gettin one. But im gonna wait for the nismo trim to come out
Nice! yeah the Nismo is going to be an awesome car when its out!
I'd love to have those issues 😆 cool 😎 information Brian
It’s a cool car for sure!
Glad you enjoyed seeing more about what the Z entails!
The aftermarket roadstersport exhaust i had on my ND2 was exactly like that. The chamber is to remove drone.
Oh cool. It will be interesting to hear these modified!
Great review
Glad you enjoyed this Z video!
I noticed the manhole cover over the gas filler early on. Looks... weird. But the "feature" that it locks when the car locks is far from unusual - I haven't seen a car that DOESN'T do this in forever.
Yeah everyone I've shown the car to mentions the gas cap first! I never said it was unusual. It's just a cool feature that it locks. People may not know this
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I didn't know it until you told me. I'm not a rich guy and I like to rock it old school anyway so I've got an 80's car that doesn't have that haha
Lock the lock again and hold. That's usually how it works. Also the key fob may also do the same thing. Unlock, unlock and hold on the button and windows will roll down. It may be two or three locks/unlocks I can't remember.
Didn't work on this. I've use this on my 370 and GTR. Doesnt go back up
I love the new Z. I saw it in a boulder color with a black roof and it’s stunning. I wish the lowest trim came with the upgraded lsd but I imagine it’s not terribly expensive to modify over time.
Nice! That looks like a sweet color! They should offer a sport package for base cars to get the LSD! But aftermarket shouldn't bee too crazy to put one in. $800 or so if you do it yourself
I'm more impress with his bank account
What’s lsd
@@RandyLaheyJulian limited slip differential
Man, those seat knobs sure move around a sketchy way. Doesn’t give me confidence for their longevity.
Glad they offered more interior color combos that just the blue
Very nice video, but I do hope the fix the remote, to also close the window!
Not sure if that’ll happen or not so we’ll see!
That katana blade on the side of the car. Dont get much quirky!😮😤🔥
Yeah certainly a cool aspect for design!
I’ve owned a 2013 Infiniti G37xs & I currently own a 2013 Infiniti G37x & the heated seat feature is the same for mines. It’s a neat luxury to have. The window remote roll down feature, rear trunk button & the gas tank locking technology are the same for the Infiniti G37 models. Here’s a quick fun fact about Infiniti that I thought was pretty cool. Get this, Infiniti’s are called Nissan skyline in Japan. If you had no clue about, that quick fun fact drop a like 👍🏾 . Above all the new Z is sweet, you can see they thought about the driver. I love how they relocated the power seat controls. It’s a really nice feature because I was really getting tired of, the original power seat control locations. I’m glad they fixed that problem. I also love the storage in the back of the Z, behind the driver & passenger seat. Furthermore, I love the speedometer display features. Before I forget, I also love the armrest feature too. Great video man! I love that you kept me glued the whole time & didn’t really give me a chance to be bored. I really appreciate you keeping your viewers engaged & for that reason I’m going to subscribe to your channel. Keep it up brotha. I wish you the best on your RUclips journey 😎👌🏾. I’ll be putting up videos soon God’s willing 🙏🏾.
I've actually seen an Infiniti here that was a Skyline! Think it was imported. Neat to see. This will be a fun car for sure to play with!
cool video man
Thanks for the visit! Cool car to check out!
wondering if the exhaust has a euro style particulate filter, would change the sound.
Hmm intersting. I guess we'll see when we can modify these!
Well done review! And nice they have added 2 cupholders in the center console, but the Nissan 370z actually have 2 cupholders, there is one in the passenger door as well :)
Yeah it had them in the doors too. But still not the same for open drinks lol. Nice to have 4 total in this ;)
im 90% sure that "wind" noise is the wastegate cracking because you hit target boost.
I love the windy throaty yawn sounding nature of the gtr and z
Where did you get that rotor clock ! Need me one of those
That was years and years ago!! I was a little kid when I got that for Christmas, maybe from radio shack or one of those stores that’s no longer around!
Cool man, good video!
Thanks! Fun vid to film!
Can you do a vid like this w the 2022 wrx?
ruclips.net/video/WJYhm4NjY6A/видео.html
We have a full review on one. But havent had enough time with the new WRX to make a vid quite like this yet
awesome video
Glad you enjoyed this Nissan Z video! There are a lot more being uploaded soon!
My 2003 G35 had the seat controls in the same place which I liked.
It’s nice but sometimes a little inconvenient.
Yeah the window situation might need to be coded like the super and BMW a lot of times you can Auto down the window but you can't Auto up especially after the door is open but it's all encoding cuz BMW has been doing the down with the remote since the 90s and up with the remote if it's activated
the biggest quirk are the pricetags
100 grand for a 400Z is crazy
That’s not what they start at lol, I’ll be buying mine for MSRP which will be in the mid $40K, possibly close to $50K. Some might be listed high right now since there aren’t many available at the moment, but that won’t last.
One of the weirdest quirks of the Z was the attached extra costs that the dealers added to the MSRP. Really astonishing!
Like what!? There's only a handful of Z's that have actually been delivered and bought. It's only been the protospec as well. I'm buying mine at MSRP.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed , I saw a proto automatic at a dealership that had just been sold. The salesperson said it sold for $5000 OVER MSRP!
Interesting video 👍. I don't think Z have wind 🌬️ buffering like the Supra and weird shape trunk and even I don't own one the no switch on trunk is annoying and if have the leg opening and closing, that's maybe work but don't have.
Yeah there is no wind buffeting in the Z! Very comfortable car overall and useful
My G35 Cpe rolled down the windows with the fob way back in 2004.
Oh cool. Yeah Nissan has done this for a while. Glad to see it in the new Z
window control and seat control was on my 03 Z
The window feature has been the same since the g35/350z which is crazy
Yeah that's crazy to see it back then! Nice feature to have!
Hows the sizing for tall and big guys? I am 6-5, 320 pounds!
I’d sit in one when they come out to see if you are comfortable or not!
Nice car choice lucky dog...love that exhausts sound sounds like a beast with that wind idk i like it lol
lol in person it's ok sounding. Can't wait to see these modified!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed same here so hurry up...lol ill sub for that
I was originally planning on getting the base model and using the extra 10k to modify myself.
But after some thought, perhaps I'll just get the performance and all I'll have to modify are suspension, wheels, and exhaust. I also REALLY want the blue interior, which I believe only comes on the performance model, right?
The only other thing on my mind is the MT Supra, which at maybe 60k would be comparable (in my case, 10-15k more is not a big deal). I know these can be modded to hit 600hp without much trouble.
Thoughts?
Yeah the leather colored interiors are only on Performance. This car needs suspension and exhaust bad. Other then that its a pretty solid sportscar. Even with tuning this will be cheaper then a 3.0 Premium Supra and still have all the performance and tech features. Curios to see what the manual Supra will cost. But this will save you a solid $6k
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Ultimately, I think I'm gonna end up test driving them both and go with the gut.
If you actually have the chance to test drive both I believe it will be a very clear decision for you. Only negative to the newer Supra is that currently unlocks range in price from 2k-5k depending on the type you go with. If you don't want to deal with that then just get a low mileage 2020 or pre June ecu 2021 for a cheap and easy unlock.
@@jakeatkinson901 Thanks for the ideas!
cat deletes and a tune could easily push 5-550 hp for the Z, that's roughly 1k (300 for pipes - 700 for tune), a bit of a save compared to 10-15k+ and then modding the supra
If your over 6 ft u can forget about it. Its very small inside. One of these with a bigger interior would be great.
This is more roomy then the Supra tho
what a awesome car, too bad dealerships are over adjusting the market prices so only collectors will be able to afford them:(
That’s not entirely true. The dealership I am buying mine from is selling for MSRP! It’s only the few that are actually available right now that are going for crazy money. You can buy a new Z for MSRP is you find the right dealers.
You can hide forbidden substances in the gas cap area 🤣🤣🤣
lol it is big!
The window down feature is only to lower the windows to cool off the interior in a hot summer day...NOT DESIGNED TO roll back up!!!
Yeah I figured as much when it didn't put them back up ;)
My Audi S3 puts them up and down. Really nice feature to have. Especially if you leave your window down and then it starts to rain. So much easier to put them all up rather then getting in the car and turning on the ignition.
370Z has two buttons at the back. One to open the hatch and the other one to lock and unlock the doors so don't have to use the button on the door handle.
Yup, I know from owning mine! Interesting it's not on this Z! You can unlock the truck though by pushing the one button...I never tried to lock it with the same button.
The Hyundai veloster N has the same exhaust system there’s modes where you can bypass the muffler or change it to go through the muffler to quiet the car
Yeah it's pretty cool. We had one for a week and sounded god. This doesnt have any modes. But I have a manual Z now for a week and it has a different exhaust system then this red now. Similar muffler to the 370z on this yellow one I have now
Is the new Z’s Apple CarPlay wireless?
Yes it has that! I didn't mess with it in this car, but we used it in the new Pathfinder. Nice big screen for it
Loving the Z videos
Glad you hear that!!! We have multiple videos still to come for this Nissan Z!
Man this car is so well thought out. I want
It’s definitely a cool car! Which model would you get?
any idea when you can start preordering it , becuase i really want one ?
I don't! My local dealer doesn't have that info either! So it's just a waiting game until they have more info! Probably going to be later this year or beginning of next!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed my dealer told me late July or early August they will be coming to the dealerships. I suppose after a month or two they will go on sale?
I like the kilometers being in the bottom when you use the sport, I'm from the usa but have learned both ways of measurement, it's weird but useful.
We never use kilometers in the USA for speed limit signs, so it is pointless while driving here.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, it's only practical in some situations but I do find it nice to come across a different measurement and still be able to understand how far along it is.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed pretty decent way to learn a rough understanding of it imo so if it is needed you can give a decent ballpark guess and then check just to be sure
@@razerss Oh yeah for sure, just not needed everyday lol
@@razerss I agree with that, but don’t need to see it everyday lol
A little bit of research would have yielded a large gas cap answer. It's so the gas dispenser handle can fit without scratching the body when dispensing fuel.
Yea I already knew that, just crazy to see how much larger it had to be made with the placement. They could have used the Z logo on the side or a different spot to not have that large cap! I filled this car up a few times, so I found that out..
@@BrosFOURRSpeed then why didn't you mention it?
@@contoursvtc I did at 1:12..
@@BrosFOURRSpeed damn you got me bro lol nice review
That gas cap though! But great review as always.
haha yeah! Everyone who has checked out the car in person has said something about the gas cap ;)
The Supra has a stupid huge gas cap too...makes no sense.
It's not as big. But I think since both cars have it on the wide curve of the rear fender, it has to be this shape. If they put it on a flatter surface it'd be much smaller
I’d anything that gas lid should be BIGGER! That’s the next fad, 18” 3 piece fuel doors
Funny my 09' G37 has those exact same seat heater toggles. I'm sure there's quite a few shared parts still.
Yeah same ones on my GTR too. They use the same switch gear across the board for everything!
So many of these features/designs are carried over from the 370Z and this guy is reviewing them as if he has never been inside one.
I like the exhaust it’s quite when you’re speeding
It’s definitely quiet if that’s what you want! I’d like it louder for me!!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yea I can appreciate that also. Just my throat that’s successful is stay under the radar as much as possible
Can't wait to see what you do to the new Z!
I have a lot of plans for the new Z! Can’t wait to start on the mods!
Honestly sounds better than I thought it would
It does! Still very quiet, so can't wait to hear it with an aftermarket exhaust!
3:47 lol my 2003 g35 coupe has that feature
Nice! Great feature to have!
How is the headroom for 6 foot tall plus drivers
I think it'd be good. Can only talk about my own body tho lol. At 5ft 11 I fit fine. But probably also depends on your body proportions. Longer torso or longer legs? Feels the same as the 370z tho
@@BrosFOURRSpeed 6ft 3in and my head was a bit close in the new Supra when I sat in it
The seats controls and heater they finally brought into the z as they took that out the g35 as the seats and seat heater controls are that way 14 years ago.
Yeah most of the buttons and controls are right out of the 370Z. Lots of carried over parts for sure
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah your right I’m sorry I was meaning to say the location of the controls is like from the g35 coupe
05:40 - That's going to make it more "fun" for those doing aftermarket amps/speakers and needing to move the seats around during the install process... probably just remove them completely - but - that sometimes can throw a CEL due to the airbag sensors not being connected... Hope that BOSE sounds decent!
Hopefully when people mess with wires they plug things back in to avoid lights lol
You just disconnect the battery while the seats are out
Definitely cutting that muffler when I get mine
Yeah it'll be cool to see what these sound like!
The level of refinement in the Supra vs the Z is wild. Seat adjustment knobs in 2023? I do like the gauge cluster though, that's much better than the Supra.
Yeah this isnt on the same level as a car BMW builds. Keep in mind spec'd with the same options the Z is $6k cheaper. So I'd hope the Supra is more refined. Both are great in a different price bracket
Amen, brother. I was just caught off guard by the knobs lol. Another solid video btw. keep it up.
Thanks man! Fun car to check out and Nissan keeps things simple ;)
I own a Supra and I owned a 370z nismo and I’ll take the adjustment knobs over obnoxious bump steer😂 (I still love both cars)
@@ethanalbers861 lol good point
Probs have it set to kmph so if you go to Canada or something it's easy to tell how fast you're going
Lol that’s factory! It’s always there, i didn’t do that!
Also too why is that transmission switch on the passenger side it should be on the driver side
What do you mean transmission switch?
the kph display always being up. even more odd is the 4th gen eclipse. analog mph speedometer, but at the bottom of it is a digital display for kph
oh wow thats funny for sure!
Gas cap is large so spilled fuel doesn't drip down the side of the car with that steep angle. It has a pocket to stay away from paint
I think it would still make its way down, the real design is since the curve is so aggressive, they needed room for the gas pump to fit to fill it up!
My 240z had the same sized sun visors.
oh wow ;)
i believe the km/h mark there is in case you ever cross the border into canada (fairly often in the great lakes area) since they use km/h instead of mph :)
I could se it up there. But that’s such a small portion of US buyers. Maybe 1% of them would do that. Most cars just let you switch it
@@BrosFOURRSpeed or the inner ring of the speedometer has the km/h marking like on my 2018 hyundai elantra. but i believe (and hope) that nissan will allow you to change it in the menu when the Z is fully released
anyway thank you for your time 👍🤝
@@fizziesclips3647 in the normal gauge setting KPH is still in the corner. Same with Enhanced. So weird they’d have it for this. Maybe it’ll be different in the production car
@@BrosFOURRSpeed let's hope 🤞
Why is it a feature to have a button to pop the hatch without the fob? It's like that for virtually all SUVs...and is it not like that on hatchbacks?
This is a sportscar. These types of cars don't always get those convenience features. Like I mentioned in the video, my Supra and old Genesis Coupe did not have that feature, and it was annoying. I like how my GTR and 370Z's had the button. So it's nice that the new Z does. I literally said all that in the video
Gas cap cover or fuel door is what its called. Gas cap is the part you twist off to get the fuel nozzle in. But we knew what you meant.
lol you know what I mean. Don't think I've every said the words fuel door to be honest
When did they come out?? Been trying to find one but dealership says their is none. Lol
They aren’t available yet, this is a press car I had for a week!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed ok, noticed that later in vid, have just been seeing a lot of them on YT lately and thought I missed something. Lol
Yeah there are a few press cars floating around the country! No updates on production cars yet tho
bro how do I get my hands on one nowee
You can't! lol...this is a pre production car! We have the amazing opportunity to have it for one week to really show what this car has to offer! Production won't be until later this year or next! I can't even order mine yet, so patiently waiting!
Try double clicking the lock then holding and see if the window goes up
I tried everything! They don’t go back up!
That trunk button being in the badge will be a problem if you want to de bage the car.
That is a good point! That will be interesting to mess with and see if it's possible once I get mine! I love the badge though!
I'm sure there will be a thousand videos over the next couple years nitpicking this car to death. Much will ultimately be subjective and personal. However, when you consider what Nissan is delivering to the broad consumer for 40k, it's pretty insane. This car looks amazing and the performance for 40k is epic. I bought my son a 350Z for his High School graduation present. I'm tempted to get a 400z for myself. Great job Nissan.
Most cars won't allow you to close the windows with the remote. It's to prevent lawsuits if it closes on someones arm/head etc
I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for this car to come out. How much longer until it’s out
Probably won't see it until later this year! Hoping it's not too much longer of a wait!
So if you want to annoy someone with a Z and have their keys just hold the unlock button so they have to get inside the car to put the windows back up?
haha yup!
I have the same solutions in the Renault Espace from 2006 😃
Same solutions??
@@BrosFOURRSpeed including opening and closing windows and the roof with a remote control, sun protection. All in all, Nissan is also a Renault 😃
Does it have a heated steering wheel?
Nope
damn that gas lid is a dinner plate lol
Haha yeah! Might come in handy for that!
Nice looking car. Too bad they didn’t make a particular key for this beauty. It’s the same key as their passenger Cube.
Same key as my GTR as well! Would be nice to see some special keys!
How do you get all the money for the cars
I run my own business. I budget money. Easy to do.
ruclips.net/video/TIMFOZ3Gl4w/видео.html
I have that window feature on my g37
the car honks when you lock it lol
Lol most cars do that! I can’t think of any that don’t.
The gas cap. I don’t know if that was something to say about but umm good to know I think
Just crazy to see the size of it for sure a small car!
They probably could have even put a piece of glass/transparent plastic in front of the camera xD
Yeah really. Would have been nice!
The VR30 Sound weird compared to the VQ37 but both are still great Sounding engines
Yeah I think once this has an exhaust it’ll sound like a mini GTR
The VR 30 is twin turbocharged the VQ 37 is normally aspirated that's why you hear that sound at the exhaust that sounds like a whooshing or jet that's because of the twin turbos. I had a '92-300 ZX twin turbo it did the same thing which didn't bother me.Then I put a Borla exhaust on it they gave it a nice exhaust note. That you could hear from inside the cab as well as the whoosh.
I would love those sunvisors.
Haha yeah!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed most don't come down far enough.
Not bad being a z fan and a Supra owner. Brother get a stage 1 transmission built by Chris miller at pure and you would be blown away
I’ll have some fun modifying this!
I have a local company that specializes in this platform to work with! I’ve taken multiple cars to them and can’t wait to see what we come up with!
