Ha Ha You're Dead! is the best track by a wide margin
@@joeyparkhill8751 it's up there, but I'd have to disagree
@@artvjonShenanigans is a great album. I'm just saying Ha! Ha! You're Dead is a step above, in my opinion.
i love the old concert clip of Billie Joe getting passed a note from an audience member on stage that requests Rotting, Billie says "nobody knows that song," and plays a riff from Desensitized
plz link the vid
It's a damn shame we didn't get to hear Rotting live
In an alternate universe we got Cigarettes and Valentines instead of American Idiot.
I think I like this reality better
Then we wouldn’t have gotten the masterpiece that was American idiot and Green Day would be long gone.
BASED ALBUM! Imagine there's a univere where this is the last GD album and they retired before American Idiot
I wouldn't want that world 😅
Bro what? American Idiot is a masterpiece.
They’d be the Marco Van Basten of bands
Highly, severely, and always overlooked. It’s honestly in my top 5 GD albums. I remember buying it the day it came out and loving it. Desensitized is still one of my favorite tracks of theirs.
I tried to get my band teacher to have us play Espionage for one of our concerts. I don't think he hated the song, but once he found out it was by Green Day he knew that was the only reason I wanted to play it.

It’s Green Day, & rules were meant to be broken lol
"You Loud" really sounds like it was recorded during the insomniac sessions. The bass really gives it away.
My all time personal favorite GD b-side has to be "Lights Out" from the Know Your Enemy Maxi CD. I first heard it as a bonus track to 21CB, and I was blown away by it! This was 2009, when the CD single format was starting to die. Had they not have released the KYE CD, we probably would not have gotten that track!
Maybe GD can do a Shenanigans sequel someday. Give an opportunity to unearth some more obscure and even unreleased tracks.
This will be a nice calm before the storm this weekend, before… Well.. You Know, THAT messy album coming up.
i just got done listening to it. dear lord if it isn't the tackiest and most uninspired album i've heard all year, idk what is 💀
it's a shame so many Green Day fans haven't listened to Shenanigans yet. Ha Ha You're Dead and Desensitized are some of my fav B-sides in their entire discography!
This was honestly my favorite for a while. I’m stoked you talked about it!
Rotting is one of Green Day's best songs
Im digging this review style ❤
great you made a video about it
to me this is one of the best green day albums
my favorites are Desensitized, You Lied and Scumbag
This album was like buried treasure when I was eleven
I saw Blink and Green Day on the Pop Disaster Tour. Green Day’s set to this day is still the best live performance I’ve seen. They played 2 hours of just greatest hits since they had no studio album out. Incredible
I think 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours is so underrated I love that album ❤
When I was getting into Green Day around the American Idiot I was just looking for any of Green Days old albums in stores. I found this and didn't realize it was a b-sides/compilation album and bought it, and just fell in love with it. Suffocate is such a good opener andHa Ha You're Dead is still one of my top Green Day songs of all time.
I am thankful Green Day made such a awesome compilation of some of their b-sides. One of my favorite bands is The Offspring, and a bunch of their b-sides were stuck to those original single releases or in some cases only on the movie soundtrack, like their AFI cover. Happy Hour was released in Japan kinda as a b-side collection but omitted a bunch of tracks still, like a Ramones cover thats only on the 'Why Don't You Get A Job' single, or their cover of The Damned 'Smash It Up' which is only on the Batman Forever movie soundtrack and the All I Want single release. So compilations like this are always appreciated to have more of these tracks all in one release.
There’s bangers all across this like suffocate, you lied, espionage, I wanna be on tv, tired of waiting for you. It’s honestly pretty good
For a long time in my teens Shenanigans alongside Warning were my favourite Green Day content , to this day I still think both are criminally underrated. Do Da Da is such an underrated track as well 🙌
Lol Do Da Da is fire man🔥
Nice! I really like this one. Has a really nice sound that’s just fun to listen to, strangely enough gives me some beach boys vibes often.
I remember I discovered this and MxPx’s b-side album Let It Happen at the same time and came to the conclusion that hidden gems can really be some of the band’s best work. 4/5 as well for me. Great review
I thought they’d done a rotating headliner during the Pop Disaster tour? I know Pittsburgh had Saves the Day as the opener as well. But still a great album!!
Warning and Shenanigans were the last albums i loved by Green Day
You Lied oddly enough sounds to me a lot like Hair from The Early November
Green Day is a great band
This should be a regular series.

Ive always fucking loved Suffocate
Suffocate & Do Da Da still get burn on the regular over here 🔥
I think somewhere I read Do Da Da was meant to be the title for Stuck With Me on Insomniac but they got mixed up somehow.
I've always hoped they'd do a Shenanigans 2 at some point. I know they have a ton of songs that don't make it onto albums
Saturday...
I was at the pop disaster tour. They weren’t openers. Jimmy ray world opened. They headlined 😊 but you’re 100% right they made blink look amateur. It was kinda ridiculous
Dunno if Shenanigans is a masterpiece necessarily but boy does it start strong, Suffocate and Desensitized are how you start off any album
Rotting and Ha Ha You’re Dead were some of the soundtrack songs to my early edgy years 😂
If Shenanigans was a proper album it would be in my top 5 GD albums ive listened to it more than almost any other GD album in the last 20+ years aside from maybe Nimrod or Dookie
I always thought carpe Diem was similar sounding to suffocate
Haha your dead is a song everybody should sing along together in a pub too
It’s a good album.
I LOVE SHENANIGANS
It's got some bangers, but the majority of it does sound like B-sides.
NOT-SO-FUN-FACT: Other than a tease of Desensitized in 2000 & playing Outsider at CBGB's in 2001, NONE of the songs on Shenanigans have been played live in full by Green Day.
hi
Saves the Day was the opener... They were at the start of their downfall though.
They had row openers. The first leg of the tour was Jimmy Eat World and the last leg was Saves the Day.
Rotting g and you lied were recorded during insomniac sessions
Rotting!
I hate Green Day
