Decided to stop thinking about which guitar to buy and just start practicing more.
Bryan Poulsen thinkin exactly the same
Bryan Poulsen I just started playing electric from years of acoustic. I’ve ever. Watching these videos and got a Wolf Les Paul clone. Playing it thinking, “I need a brighter guitar”. Nah, I just need to practice more then pick a guitar.
@Bilal Ibrahim check Artist guitars
Bilal Ibrahim depends on price I suppose. I’m a big Squier fan personally, the quality is second-to-none for the price
@Bilal Ibrahim Squier
Dudes...That intro jam was incredible! Ariel and Danish Pepe, you're both soulful masters.
Pete*
I think I like Danish Pepe better. Lol
Tarco - No it's definitely Danish Pepe. Carlos Santana told me so :)
It's Danish Peep
@@xxnonstopdancingxx Fact...Pepe would be pronounced like Pepe Le Pew lol
Ariel is honestly one the best improvisers I've ever heard. Some of licks he pulls out of thin air is insane
Whatever Andersons is paying you, it is not enough. Love listening and watching you guys.
They get paid in capos and clip-on tuners
@@jland12 2 years late but this made me laugh
You chose the wrong guys to do this demo, this level of skill makes the guitar they're using completely irrelevant ;)
That’s exactly what you want
@Proud Straight White Christian Conservative woah, took you two years to think of that reply, your IQ must be super high
@Proud Straight White Christian Conservative yeah, that reply took a lot of thinking too. Careful, your brain might overheat.
Yeah but by that logic, an video about affordable guitars would be irrelevant in the first place. The secret is just to get better after all.
It think it’s just a great example of both the quality of guitars getting better than they were even 25 years ago and also the fact that if you’re good, you can play any guitar if it’s set up nicely.
is there an affordable range of ariels and petes i can purchase for my livingroom
quacking96 I’m sure there are. You just run into some human rights issues. 🧐
I'm sure there's prolly a Korean Pete copy you can get, if you can't afford the full fat Danish
What would you feed them? Do they have to be 'walked,' or can they use a litter box?
Depends upon your definition of affordable...for the right amount of money I'm sure they would be perfectly amenable to being performers on retainer...but I would guess the average Joe can't afford it
What shirts ?
The best reviews in the world, thx Andertons. These guys have so much fun to play and discuss the instruments.
Yes. I wonder if they realise that they’ve just played to a Wembley stadium audience in a couple of hours. 30k views.
I own that Ibanez and its become my favorite guitar. I went in to the store to by a Gibson 335 and after playing them both I walked out with the Ibanez and saved a ton of money. I just liked how it played and sounded better, not to mention it being a beautiful instrument as well. Ibanez are often overlooked when talking semi hollow bodies but they shouldnt be! Great guitar.
Agreed, any company that made a Joe Pass signature needs to be taken seriously in the world of archtops.
And a George Benson, didn't they?
I have watched hundreds of Andertons videos and I think the jam in the intro is my favourite in any of the videos. It was that beautiful. You guys are both incredible. Brilliant...
These two have such an amazing chemistry when they play together, its just mind blowing what they can do.
Came for the guitars, stayed for the jam.
One of the sweetest jams you guys have done at the beginning of this video! Great job!
I bought a Gretsch Streamliner a week ago and its incredible!
If I wear a Hawaiian shirt then I should be able to play like that
Henry 562 how many times can we click on the “like” button actually?😂😂😂
Henry 562 can confirm that this does not work
Yeah its the ambient it gives off
what a silly question of course you can
🥇
These are the best videos going on Andertons right now. Ariel and Pete are such skilled players and explain things in the best way. Lee, if your reading this please give these guys more screen time. I just bought a sheraton after watching this.
My God that last jam is incredible! The best I've seen on this channel. Amazing rhythm and lead playing from both players, improvising in near perfect symbiosis.
I've had AS73 for about 7 years now and always enjoy how versatile it can be
I think it's about time Pete and/or Ariel participate in blindfold tests like Rob and the Captain!
Nolan G , I agree, I'd love to blindfold Pete and ......well, let's just leave it at that
J Bolo That’s on that other “tube” website . 🤣🤣
I don't know why I laughed so hard, except at the idea of the other guys messing with a blindfolded Pete.
they did with tele's
My grandfather gave me his artcore, it was my first electric guitar and i will always cherish it. It has a really rich sound and amazing playability. That and my strat are absolute monsters for blues.
I’ve seen this video I think over 50 times. Bought the AS73, absolutely love it. The jam, the solos.. this video is just perfection.
My favourite two reviewers! Amazing jam at the start guys. Put a smile on my face on a Monday 👍.
The way these two transition into jam is just so smooth.
That outro is the best jam I've heard in years. Fantastic phrasing.
And pure improv
THAT WAS THE BEST CLEAN TONE JAM I EVER HEARD, EXCELLENT BOTH YOU DUDES ARE...
Always a joy seeing these guys play.
I always enjoy the Anderson’s reviews. Seriously most of the other videos on the web don’t feature such lovely playing. Really highlights what the instruments sound like in a full on musical setting. I want to go to Australia just to visit your shop and say hello! Great job guys.
I think that Sheraton has the best coil taps I've ever heard. They actually sound usable.
I will throw in; I've never found coil-tapped buckers as properly comparable to - say - a proper strat 🎸...they are never enough, lacking the full width and touch-sensitivity. But, they have a faux-coil texture, useful for changing through the years gears, to blip cleanish little reggae chirrups and cleaned-up percussive riffs, in a live performance context, where graduating through dirty and clean sounds is well served by a switch on the guitar that essentially halves the pickup sound...
But. The other day when I bought my jazzmaster, and tried heaps of axes, the LTD eclipse- looking thing, a sort of skinny Les Paul, which was only £400 or something, not expensive... Anyway, those coil taps really worked, the humbuckers really honestly did sound like true single coils. It was a new axe, and I know when I played the same model back in 2016, the pickups were not as impressive, in that regard.
In short, I think it might be possible that that particular sonic territory might be undergoing substantial improvement - although it just being a flukey good winding & harness or whatever... I don't know.
But I very almost bought that guitar coz of it! But instead plumped for the ugliest oddball jazzmaster you ever saw...
Cheers! 🍀
God I love this episode. Love coming back to it. You guys are unreal.
Man Ariel’s playing is just killer, so satisfying to listen to!
Just FYI, if you two have an idea for a video, we ABSOLUTELY want you to do it! The jams in this video are beyond words. Incredible
That Ibanez (well, the player) sounds the sweetest
Agree
Jon Auty Ibanez make nice guitars at a good price.
The best show on TV. These two guys make everything sound good .... but in doing so they show just what the guitars are capable of.
Ariel Posen.... Smashing it out the park as always. these two play so well together
That riff with that "Can't Stop" vibe was incredible
Wow, that intro jam was incredible. Been a Danish Pete fan for a while but my first time hearing Ariel.
Love how hollows sound with vintage amps. You can get a sweet tone.
Agree
I love how the Sheraton II just screams ! It has a very vocal sting to it, that I love. I might just have to buy one.
Wow, the tone on that Gretsch is sooo sweet!
That Ibanez - all day long. Came hear for the review of it and was not disappointed. Saw it yesterday for sale in FB group out here in Thailand and instantly fell in love - more than any other semi hollow that I've ever seen. The weathering of it is just so tasteful and cool - and then we hear on this vid that it really is a top class player! I'm sold!
Wow you guys are great guitar players. I have an ASV73 and absolutely love it. No frills, just a great playing guitar. Cheers!
Love the Sheraton - have one without the tapped option, but that Ibanez is THE looker! Beautiful finish and sounds sweet.
Best intro on an Andertons video to date. Well done lads
Love the Ibanez hollow body. They much such a great range of guitars.
Back again just for this epic intro jam. I'd happily pay tickets to watch these two do an improv show!
Hello If anyone is still following this post. I think the intro is pure magic.
Same for the piece at the end.
Definitely the best jam on the channel. Insane playing.
Great jam guys, and a good demo along side each other. I bought the Sheraton II pro from you a while back and it has honestly been fantastic. It covers a lot of ground tonally, and I've had no issues with it.
I've got the Epiphone Sheraton II - unfortunately it sounds nothing like this when I play it...
@@stevedimebag Just goes to show that tone is 80% amp and speaker ..
Yet..
With that being said, yes these guys are great, I think the Sheraton sounds best to me
Good amps make the difference
wozzlepop I think what he was saying is that he’s not as good as these guys.
Pete’s an absolutely awesome player. Ariel’s from a different planet, damn.
That Ibanez sounds sweeeet. I tend towards being a Guitar snob but that thing is lovely.
Finally giving that artcore some love! Had it for ages and it's an amazing guitar, perfect price and quality balance. Plus it really suits auriel ;)
Love me a good semi, they've just got that unique sound that you can't get any other way
These two together are the best
That tremolo bit Ariel did at the end of the intro jam.
So perfect
Bravo on the ending jam. As usual with these two
Got a second-hand Ibanez AS-103 after watching this... half a year later, I can easily say that guitar is absolutely amazing. The AS93's are also pretty darn good.
Spent a lovely afternoon in Andertons last year trying out all four of these guitars and walked out the door (after paying!) with the Gretsch. Absolutely love it. Was a close run thing with the Ibanez but the Gretsch just whispered to me nicely :)
John Wainwright I just ordered mine, do you still like how it sounds and feels?
@@MrSnuffian how do you feel it so far?
I have an Ibanez AS153 which is a beautiful sounding guitar it has an additional toggle switch which coupled with the other toggle switch splits the hum buckets to outer coil and inner coils the tones are amazing
Yes! Please do the big jazz box guitars some time. I love the semi hollow/hollow body thing. I own a vintage 335, and a recent 339. All the guitars you had today sounded great!
Well done, gentlemen! Great showcasing of these bad boys. Sweet playing! 👏
I have that Ibanez. Now off to practice for a thousand years to make it sound the way it did with Pete.
Do you have problems with staying in tune?
Yes to seeing a hollow bodied shootout!
I own one of those Sheraton's in that exact some colour and I can say that it sounds greeeeeat. It just does everything so well
I watch your videos for your excellent jams. Thank you guys :)
I’ve never listened to Chappers and the Captain for as long as I listened to these two
you guys are awesome. what an intro jam!
Been eyeing that Ibanez for a while; so stylish, great playability and just sweet sound.
Bought the AS73 a couple of weeks ago. Needed a setup, but I really like it. Wish I could make it sound like these two guys!
The Epi Sheraton has my vote for coolest headstock ever. And on the bridge pickup (around 14:16) it's in Tele country - amazing tone! And as Ariel pointed out, it has the tele sound on the neck pickup (at around 16:40), except with the fullness and richness/resonance of a hollow body. This video also illustrates just how big a factor the amp can be in getting great tone. These medium priced guitars sound like a million dollars through a Princeton, especially with that Eminence speaker. Of course, the playing is phenomenal.
Yeah Pete and Ariel on Easter Monday. Happy dance!!
Yes! I love Ariel and Pete together!
That opening jam took me to the river and laid me down! Nice one boys!
As soon as I saw Danish Pete, this video got a thumbs up.
Love the skull peering out of Ariel's shirt foliage around ~34:00, and yes to jazz boxes.
T-shirt is from Guilt Trip in Belfast. You can get the t-shirts on their website.
Magic jams guys BRILLIANT! And that Ibanez looks superb.
Smooth as butter playing
Ibanez are my favorite semi-hollow. The most playable guitar I ever played was an Ibanez AS83
Where was this Ariel guy until now?! Fantastic duo!
Seriously, Chappers who?...
Check out "The Bros. Landreth."
Stop dissing the man, mate. He has done countless hours of entertainment for us and I'm quite sure he's done his best. That comment could've been more sensible.
The jam at the beginning made me want to watch 'Welcome back, Kotter'.
That was some soul food! Good job!
I have played metal for 35 years on about every major brand of solid body there is. But my favorite guitar in my collection is my Ibanez AGS83B semi-hollow. I love that guitar. Ibanez makes a superb "budget" semi-hollow.
I miss Mick's knowledge on this show... but, gatdamit~ Ariel & Pete is a show and a half!! Outstanding!!! Think these 2 are my favorite "Andertons" combo
I spend more of my time on RUclips videos, especially guitar videos, than I do on the TV.
I spend more time watching Anderton's videos that playing guitar, arghhh... (
Doesn't everyone
What is TV?
Bruh it can become and addiction 😂
Same as most of us .
That intro brought a smile to my face
Love the Ibanez. Outtro jam was great. Ariel's playing is killer.
Just when you think Mr. Pete is on another level and then there is Mr. Ariel.
Man, Ariel’s playing really got me on this one. More than usual. And mainly any time he touched that Ibanez! :D I think he needs one ;) ... Or maybe *I* need one... Dang it, now I want an Ibanez :S
I got you Pete! That acoustic version of Something Like Olivia in the final jam, loved it!
Wow there is great tones in All those guitars. Amazing players unbelievable really guys
That Gretsch sounds great. But the look of the Ibanez is impressive....
Amazing! Anderton's have a group of guitarists, all relatively young, who have more ability, more musical knowledge and far more versatility than 90% of the hacks in the groups whose music has been played by American "Classic Rock" stations for the last 30 or so years. Play on, Boys!
Thank you guys for this wonderful musical session an presentation of affordable semi-hallow guitars! You help guitarist like me to think well in our investment
Thanks guys - good to see some affordable options from time to time. The Dot sounded really nice to me. Btw. I would love to see an affordable Single Cut shootout. PRS 245 SE Standard, Epiphone LP, ESP Eclipse, Chapman ML2.
That Sheraton sounds awesome!
My favorite guitar ever is my Epiphone Sheraton II PRO with PAF DiMarzio's I had installed
Which PAFs did you put in?
Just saw Ariel Posen in concert and it was awesome.
This is the first intro jam i’ve ever completely sat through in an Andertons video. Both of these guys are so smooth and match eachother in playing ability which makes it interesting to watch them ‘duel’. Chap and the Captain are not even in ability at all (not taking away from anyone’s ability) which is a bit less entertaining.
Two of the best Strat players ever destroying the game on semi hollows!
Sam Johnson Pete plays a Tele
The intro jam matches the title well
Two of my favorite players
I was looking for an affordable semi hollow. But that Ibanez has a nice bark.
Love it.
