I love your videos! I am so fascinated with your mixes you setup! I saw your Freewing F-15 90mm and I’m going to mine back out this weekend, but I really want to get my throws like you have yours. Especially try the crow function, I haven’t seen it used until your videos. Awesome job and keep the videos coming :)
Thanks Thomas! If you want to get the same setup our F-15 has, check out ruclips.net/video/wS0qCNyLvuU/видео.html. You'll want Hitec D-85MG servos in the stabilators which you can pick up here: bit.ly/3ANJkEA HS-85MG servos would be great in the flaps and ailerons: bit.ly/3QSqFNl Rudders can usually be kept stock, but HS-85s would also be useful there too.
Love my SU-30. Looks cool, easy to fly, LG can take 4’ drop…only negative is it’s not over powered and does requires some runway to get that weight off in ground. Wish eFlite would make a V2 with better engines and a little lighter.
Hello jon, a great performance... how did you manage the programming? Have you programmed the model as a delta or normal aircraft? I would be very interested and maybe I'll get an answer from you
@@TwoBrosRC So far so good. but how did you program it with the mix and the gyro... which mixers did you use. Excuse my bad English, I'm writing to you from Germany and I hope I don't annoy you with my questions, because I also have a SU 30
That was great flying Jon. You set a great example on how to stay calm when inflight malfunctions happen and you continue to fly the plane all the way to the ground safely and kept it in 1 piece. You never fail to impress 👍.
I am buying parts in a panic for mine and I have also already downloaded STL 3d print files. I am going to try to save my baby. I wished there was a way to reverse engineer the plane as close as possible with lasers for 3d printing or hot wire foam CNC
I have the completely stock SU30 and it DEFINITELY will not fly like yours! lol. It's a nice jet stock, but slow and honestly I am not comfortable with doing any aerobatics with it. It doesn't even fly inverted worth a crap. Looks like it's UPGRADE time! Thanks!
They discontinued it !? Seems to me there are quite a few out there.. I'm going to refinish mine paint to something other than what every factory looks like. Plus seeing another battery compartment under the speed break!? Tailerons//flaperons. They'll bring it back when the demand surge returns I'll bet.
Great video Jon!! I wanted this jet so bad and of course horizon always discontinues the best..half the reason why I don’t want to spend my money with them..anyhow I really really need to try a set up like this with super high throws and high expo…what’s your recommendations for moving into a set up like this from flying the conventional low throw medium-ish expo?
Hey Jon, thanks for your informative videos. Never fail to give me inspiration! Don't forget the FMS SU27 which is very similar but has more power and even sounds better! On sale in USA and Europe now
This jet is just one more good reason why I will NEVER buy another Airplane from Horizon Hobby. Just when they get a great airplane: They STUPIDLY DISCONTINUE IT !!!! That is PLANNED EXTINCTION BY A GREEDY COMPANY.
I think maybe if you pitched down a tad bit to gain a little bit more air speed it would probably cobra harder. I do it a lot with the MiG 29 in the simulators. I like to start a lot of those types of moves at an angle down or up in pitch for better results.
The airframe is just too heavy. Will's modifications to it made it significantly heavier than it was in stock form. The servos just can't push the airframe around enough to be as performant as it should be. That's OK - the new Su-27 from FMS is here (which is identical to the E-flite Su-30) and we'll see what we can do with it soon.
Nice jet 😀 i had one a couple off years ago and i put some weight in the tail and it became much better to fly. Feelt much lighter and slowed down very easy and rotated much faster 😀
You do your best under the windy condition, but I have to admit the inverted high alpha which was pretty awesome to watch. I have one and haven’t got a chance to maiden it yet, so looking forward to it.
If you want the most out of it, you'll need to set it up with an 8ch receiver. 8360Ts are in the description - the same one we used in this vid. Really makes a huge difference in how it performs. The roll authority is abysmal with ailerons-only.
Thanks for the advice. I bought the jet with BNF, and I want to maiden it first with the stock set up, and then essentially, I might consider doing the eighth channel as you suggested. Thank you
Yes you should get a SU-35 FW. Very lite. Different kind of foam, similar to the foam type LX Models use. Maybe one day you will get the SU-57 from Banana and try out a LX jet. But change ESCs and Fan units to FMS. Trust me👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻
Nice flying 👍 I am curious since you mostly fly bigger jets whats your opinion on 64mm EDFs? Since I don't have access to a runway i stick to those 64s with hand launches and grass belly landings.
@@TwoBrosRC Haven't flow RC in a couple of years. So I don't want to crash it. Need to break out the Apprentice, then my Rebal 4s ,and get use to flying again.
Sweet flying Jon, a really impressive set up. I can literally visualize RC Pilot Wills smile from ear to ear like the Grinch. Just so you know, if you would've crashed it, I would've rebuilt it better🧐 -The mad scientist G 😋
Differential stabilators and flaperons are my #1 suggestion, followed by upgrading the stab servos to tinyurl.com/B13DLM and cutting the foam of the battery tray back so the battery can rest against the nose wheel when it's retracted.
@@TwoBrosRC I've seen where you can ditch the speed brake and split the capacity of one larger pack into two, stuff one in the nose and one in the speed brake hatch.
LOVE THE TRIGGER SCRATCHES!!! :)))

Lets get a Mig-29 in full Ghost of Kyiv livery.

Hello jon, a great performance... how did you manage the programming? Have you programmed the model as a delta or normal aircraft? I would be very interested and maybe I'll get an answer from you
It's programmed as a dual elevator, one rudder tail type with a flaperon wing type.

I had one of these that I put leopard 2550kv motors and the thrust vectoring nozzles from the freewing su35 the plane can preform with the right setup

Just jump right into it. With a lot of expo it won't feel any different in the mid-range of the sticks.
Hey Jon, thanks for your informative videos. Never fail to give me inspiration! Don't forget the FMS SU27 which is very similar but has more power and even sounds better! On sale in USA and Europe now
Thanks man! FMS did mention that they'll be sending us the Su-27 when there's more units to sell. You'll see it on the channel soon enough.
This jet is just one more good reason why I will NEVER buy another Airplane from Horizon Hobby. Just when they get a great airplane: They STUPIDLY DISCONTINUE IT !!!! That is PLANNED EXTINCTION BY A GREEDY COMPANY.
That's a lot of hyperbole. If something isn't selling, it's going to be discontinued. Doesn't matter what company sells it.
NIce flight. Remove speed air brake and do the dual battery mod. Moves the CG further back.
Dual batteries will increase wing loading and reduce aerobatic potential, along with making the jet easier to stall at all airspeeds.
If you wanna do aerobatics in a jet, the flex jet from Flex Innovations is going to be your best. Bet all these other jets are.Meh

Bring it back Eflight!!

10/10 would buy
There's way too many planes that are on the shelf.

I wouldn't mind if I crashed that one either. Flies like a vice with an electric fan strapped on it. Pretty paint job though!
