I know the title of this song as Get It On, it's a great song by T Rex and I love it. Marc Bolan is the vocalist and they were often on Top of the Pops in the 70s - glam rock!! T Rex had loads of hits in the UK, songs such as 20th Century Boy, I Love To Boogie, Telegram Sam, Metal Guru, Jeepster and Children of the Revolution. Thanks so much for your reaction, guys and I'm so glad you've reacted to this iconic band from the UK glam rock of the 1970s! Take care now. 😊👍

Rick Wakeman did the piano bits on this. Apparently he was broke at the time, and needed £8 to pay an outstanding gas bill. When Bolan found out he told Rick to come down to the studio. When Rick arrived he listened to the track but he told Marc that it didn’t need piano. Marc told him to just do a few sweeps down the keyboard so Rick did that in a couple of minutes. For that he was paid the standard session fee of £9, so he was able to pay his gas bill. Rick has recounted that story many times, to illustrate how much he appreciated Marc’s kindness in getting him ‘money for virtually nothing’ (as Rick said, anyone could have done that on the piano, but Marc fixed it for Rick to get his cash).

Head of the band and lead singer Marc Bolan was electric. Mikey Finn on bongos- greatness. Had Bolan not died in a car wreck, he and his band T-Rex would have gone on too be huge. At the time, they were already huge in England. His wife took a turn too fast and then car fell off a cliff. Thankfully, she survived. Anyway, one of my favorites of theirs is Mambo Sun. A lot of people in the states think this song is the band’s one-hit-wonder. But it couldn’t be farther from the truth. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago. Thanks for posting.

Rex started out as a psychedelic folk duo and then Marc Bolen went solo with his first album Electric Warrior when he switched to electric guitar. The album is fantastic. Hi, having lived through the 70's as a teenager I can tell you here in England , Marc Bolan & T.Rex were massive !!! Their albums are absolute classics and so many hit singles in the charts. They were at the top of the Glam Rock music scene. If you only listen to one album, make it "Electric Warrior" .... and if you want more...then "The Slider" is the best follow up. Those 2 albums alone showed the world the genius of Marc Bolan's song writing skills and his stage presence was iconic in the 70's. His hit singles were big, but the album tracks are awesome ! You have a huge rabbit hole to get through. Well worth the journey ! .... Kick of with track 1 from "Electric Warrior" ... called "Mambo Sun" and don't stop. I wore out that album on vinyl that I had to buy it again...then again on cd, remastered. Same with "The Slider". Still today those albums are brilliant ! Marc was a great friend to David Bowie, Ringo Starr and Elton John. He was & is still remembered & loved by millions after his tragic death in a car crash driven by his girlfriend. Marc refused to learn to drive because he feared crashing and being killed. He did know however he would die young. He said in an interview with Russell Harty. I hope you do more music by T.Rex. Thankyou for playing this....& it's called "Get It On" Lol

This song is like candy. You don't mind the repetitiveness ---when in fact - Marc makes you want more!!
I love the difference in Pat's more cerebral way of hearing the music vs. George's mostly physical response. It's interesting to watch and you guys bring up some good points. Such as, in this song, the ability to hear lyrics whilst getting into the groove of just the music. I never gave a second thought to the lyrics in this song until very recently when I watched anothers reaction to "Bang a Gong". I had to look up the lyrics and I was amazed at Bolan's poetry. I've been listening to this song for 50 years and never knew exactly what he was saying!! Kinda proves George's point in that some songs you cannot listen to the music and the lyrics at once.

It used to be in the opium houses in which you would bang a gong which made a harmonious sound and meant you were ready for another hit or bang of opium. Trust me…….you must listen to the remake done by The Power Station in the 80’s, they ramp this tune up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. FIRE!

Hello guys, thank you for your reactions! I enjoy watching your videos! Can you please react to Mike Oldfield TUBULAR BELLS (especially the first part) as well as the very first album from Alan Parsons Project, I am sure you will love both of them !
Also, carry on with Pink Floyd reactions, those are the best!

There must be a reason why your channel is not growing as fast as the rest of the reactors. I mean you've been there for over 2 or 3 years and you haven't reached 50K yet. Not normal IMO. You need to ponder over this. You once reacted to a young girl singing an incredible version of Bohemian rhapsody and you got quite a response from her fans. But that was a one-try reaction, while you should have continued down the rabbit hole. Her version of Elvis's "Suspicious minds" at 16 is amazing. Try other new talents on the scene: Aurora, Diana Ankudinova and others. Maybe you should discuss more about the singer's performance, vocals, tone, pitch etc... rather than the music genre in general (pop, rock, hard rock, metal, R&B, Jazz, etc...). I'm well aware that you're not music coaches, but we expect to be taught something. Bobbing your heads right and left is not gonna cut it it. Good luck, bros.

Hi Hicham, I hear you however I see so many of these channels with half the number of subscribers than these guys and doing it longer. I also see some with three times as many but they have been doing it for five to ten years. Patrick and George have only been doing this for two years. They are slowly building their numbers and of course each channel learns and grows along the way as to what works and what doesn't. They also play young new artists on their other channel. I really don't know any channels that deliver what each viewer wants every time. If there is one let me know!!🙂 There are so many of us and only two of them. I am sure they appreciate your suggestions and let's wish them the best as they navigate the VERY competitive world of reaction videos. Take care 🌿Peace🌌
