@15:35 "Where will we live when we run out of land?" ....Fortunately, we have thousands or tens of thousands of years to figure that out. The problem is our huge population centers like NYC and LA, and similar cities around the world. But when you get outside of those areas, there is PLENTY of land out there
That mars inflatable pod is awful lol all I could think was This is where they put the insane or where they can make someone insane, no color, nothing to look at but stark white walls lol a cave would be much nicer
The heliotrope doesn’t even look finished, and if it is, is ugly. And geothermal hvac isn’t as efficient as current entry level hvac ductless heat pumps(unless in Siberia). And the whole “environment” theme on all the current renowned homes is tired already. We’re not in a crisis like the Greenpeacer’s want to scare all of us into thinking is. Looks like we’re in a plague of hideous and boring chapters of design and appeal. Solar and low power consumption and efficiency is my main interest, and ugliness doesn’t have to be, just doesn’t. This is part of conditioning all of us to believe to accept a level of that to achieve some global weather security we cannot control.
The Helitrope is ugly as a sin and it's also over-engineered and not very efficient by today's standards. But it's 28 years old so we shouldn't really judge it by today's standards. It really was cutting edge technology when it was built back in 1994
I wish dome homes and earthship homes became the norm. Sick of seeing unneficient wooden homes still going up. Its like a joke. Make homes that are better for the enviroment and aesthetically amazing. Its a win win. So much of the trash we also throw out should be recycled into building homes. Would be so cool to see. Need to shift our priorities because we have all the means.
The only way I would even go into the “H2OME” is if the views to the outside can be covered! ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT!! I already do not like the ocean so going into a home that is underwater in the ocean............. FUCK THAT!!! It being completely dark and being unable to see what is outside the windows......... SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME! EVEN NOW, IN MY HOUSE AT LEAST 600 MILES FROM THE OCEAN!
Ok... So lots of interesting modern design there (mostly assuming you are a multi-millionaire) but almost universally uninviting to live in. Clearly the mega-rich don't have things like paintings and 'stuff'..... :-(
You seem to be advocating that these types of homes should become the standard type built for everyone. In today's market that would mean that only the top 5% of the population would live in homes. Would the rest live in tents on the streets or just live on the streets.

The space inside the underwater home displaces volume back to the surface. This is a zero gain factor battling a planet with "not enough" land surface. Hmmm. The answer of course being. Fewer bipod or more bipod with better suited ideas. Especially those unable to see physical eventualities, yet consider themselves leading architects Industrious, toxic and unable to balance in the world we live in. Which we have destroyed for reasons of convenience and wealth 🤔. Not a thought to survival within it, always to change it to something else. Gosh, if these are the brightest innovative home ideas in which to live. Maybe get back to the drawing board. Is eight billion people enough?
Omg that second house in joshua tree. Beauuutyyyy!!!!! The lines and shapes it makes and the natural rock inside. Chefs kiss.
Thank you Top five compliment video explanation exhaustve very systematic is meticulous .
I love the Willow House. Living with trees, plants and water is close to nature which is so calming. That's my favorite.

There isn't enough gravity on Mars for human bone-health
I would love to own high desert house
They didnt talk much about futuristic inside design or function except for basic heating and cooling
The second one looks like a crashed plane 😂
To me it looks like a huge scorpion or crab over the rocks

Yeah, and suppose the electricity went out? You couldn't take the elevator out. You'd need an escape pod
