When I see a new Guitars and Dragons song, I will always at least save it to watch later. Today though, I saw that it was a cover for Down by the River, and I dropped everything to listen immediately. Totally worth it, what a beautiful cover!

I was just playing Baldur's Gate 3 recently, it's an awesome game! Big BG2 vibes, I totally love it, just in Act 3 right now.
And the performance was flawless, just man, goosebumps all over my arms, it's the best tribute to your art.

Learning this piece has a lot of similarities to playing BG3. Equal amounts of blessing and cursing the composer/developer, but operating under the certainty that the endgame will leave you richer, more learned, and swimming in romance.

I love this song, but man, BG3 bums me out that every single song is a remix on this motif. Could have had motifs for every character and mixed them up star wars or Ring saga style. Instead it's just everything is down by the river. Missed opportunity imo
Even though I like the motif, I do actually agree. It can get a little repetitive sometimes. I remember DOS2 had themes for a lot of the characters and it made them unique. Wish BG3's companions got the same treatment.
