    This is my favourite opening intro of all time. It just captures the essence of the programme. It doesn't try to bullshit you or try to be over the top, its just a boring, dull, grey 70s industrial estate. Thats life.

    Whilst both shows are great, I just can't see why people bash the uk version for being depressing. That's the entire point of the series, to cover the monotonous, tedious lives of people working in a British trading estate. Most of England is not "merry old England". A lot of it is shithole, grey industrial areas like this. You wouldn't bash a political satire because it shows politicians making mistakes and mocking them for it, because "it's mean to insult people". Whilst I admit the US version is much more approachable in it's humour, the uk version is definitive to those familiar with British life, and to say that it is bad because it is "sad" just reinforces how well the show represents the lives of people in that particular industry. It may not be your kind of thing, but that doesn't make it objectively shit, making one better than the other.

      It's hard, when one is in that kind of job, to face up to just how bad things are. I was lucky. I managed to change my job & life around.
      The biggest problem for me was the behaviour of almost all the people I worked with. This wasn't even in a trading estate. It was an office in a prestigious university (then again, maybe that's what brought its own problems..)
      After a decade of that, I'm afraid of ever working in an office again, because of what it does to my view of humanity.
      Meet people in all sorts of scenarios. Just don't work with them..

    People fighting over which office is is the best (UK/US), but many of you are not taking into account that they are very different shows, the UK version being relatable and hilarious to people in the UK, And the The US version being relatable and funny to people in the US. This is because Gervais realised that UK humour can't translate very well to American culture, so he has changed the scripts, characters and overall feel of the show, so that it can be recognisable to the US audience. People are also arguing that Because the UK is the original, it is automatically the best, That sort of logic does not make any sense and is a false argument. I personally prefer the UK office because im from the UK, making it relatable for me. That is why i like it. It has hidden jokes in some places that you would only pick up on if you were from the UK and that is what makes it special, the same goes for the US version.
    Can't we all just accept eachothers opinions?

The real value is that you can pick your favourite one to watch, it'd be boring if we only had one of the two. Just like with Metallica and Megadeth. Both series are good. The reason I'm not as big on the UK ver is Gareth and a couple other characters are unpleasant to look at. I guess that is part of it but I'm not watching it to be unsettled. Also I visited England for a longish time and really what made me want to leave was the accents after a while, sure its exotic and fresh at first but after a while I just couldn't stand them anymore. I'm willing to bet English visitors feel the same way in the US after a long stay

      the12thboss Song wise maybe, realistically though - this does what it’s meant to do and the intro is probably one of the best British Television sequences of all time.
      I doubt the Office USA is even thought of in America when it comes to that.

      [REDACTED] A bit of butthurt there.
      How about if someone just commented "British is definitely better", would you give a reply like you have to me to them? Probably not. If I gave a reply like you did to me to them, I'd probably get nagged at.
      I'm not saying British one is bad. I watched it twice through, and I like it, but the U.S. is generally funnier. I get British humor, which can sometimes be funnier than humor in a lot of U.S. shows, but in this case of the two shows, the U.S. one was better.
      This is literally MY opinion. You're worried about what one guy commented.
      You think the Brits' one is better. Great. I don't. If you commented just that, I wouldn't spend my time saying in not so many words how your opinion's wrong

    • @grandfatherclock2316
      @grandfatherclock2316 6 лет назад +3

      If someone did comment "British is definitely better" I would actually give a reply resembling the one I gave to you but believe it or not I don't go searching this comment section looking for comments similar to yours. Yours just happened to be the first one I saw and so I commented. And guess what? I'm not saying the US one is bad! And I get it is "literally" YOUR opinion, thats why I said that. But now that you've said you've seen the UK version twice over I can now understand you can fairly critique it which many people do not do here.
