To clarify Mexican spicy food doesn't tend to be like Asian spice where you get a kick of spice to your mouth, it tends to be sour hitting the sides of the mouth as opposed to the back of the throat.

The rest of the family eats kind of bland food, pretty much the same day after day. But my brother and I are super tasters out of our large family, and can pin point exactly what's in any dish, down to which oil and spices were used. We're also not picky at all, we like almost everything, whereas the rest of the family has pretty specific tastes.

@@thxcbo it doesn’t work that way, it’s actually an American mindset to think that, you have your family’s culture but that does not equate to Mexican culture, if you don’t live in the country you won’t have the whole picture, sure you have some glimpses but that does not mean you’re Mexican, this situation is a perfect example for that, something as simple as some chips flavor, I’m sure most Mexicans know the original flavor of takis, yet if you are born in the US of course you will think that fuego is the original as it was the first flavor that became popular in the US, not trying to gatekeep, you guys can enjoy your heritage and be proud, Mexican Americans are our cousins, but you are not Mexican because that is a nationality and an identity related to it

I’m a middle school teacher and my students bring whole bags of Takis to school and hide them in their bags to eat during class because they think they’re sneaky. Sometimes they even bring it for their lunch. Just the Takis, nothing else 🤦🏻♀️

In Mexico, they passed a law that junk food must be labeled with warnings such as "excess calories" and "excess sodium" to help combat obesity and unhealthy eating. They also made companies get rid of mascots in food to make it less fun looking for kids and discourage their consumption. Which was a bummer because we all knew and loved the mascots that have been around for decades. Bimbo, the bread company, began putting their mascot in all kinds of merch except their food. For a moment, there was talks of getting rid of Maruchan altogether.
So same flavor, different medium. You guys missed the takis fuego waves chips. It’s a slightly less limey fuego flavor on ruffles-style potato chip. Don’t really eat the regular fuego takis since those came out

As a person in the USA, I've been sold (or not sold, as it were) on the idea that Taki's are spicy... I didn't know they were actually more sour than anything. ... Seeing as I'm not a fan of Vinegar chips either, I think I'm still fine with not eating any.
Not all of them are sour. The avocado one is mild, as well the green bag. They just taste like corn.
