In this video titled I deliver a critical analysis of Supercell’s newest game, Squad Busters. Squad Busters is a game reminiscent of popular .io games, such as survivor.io, however, it has recieved immense criticism online. Unlike Supercell's previous games like Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Hay Day, Clash of Clans, or Boom Beach, Squad Busters struggles with an over reliance on luck amongst other issues.

@@Phucsle383yeah, it's bc they didn't listen to any of the fan base opinions. Also, they were going so slow each update took about 3 months and they would just somehow make the game worse. I did love the game, but it did have a lot of issues

The game is so lacking in mechanical skill. It really hate that when it comes to fighting other players, it just comes down to who has more fighters, not who’s better at the game. It’s why I personally can’t get into it, it really doesn’t take that much skill to play
When I first heard of Squad Busters, I thought its gameplay was similar to brawl stars, (not the stop to attack bullshit)

It took clash mini 2 years and even after that it didn't went global and Squad buster was not even soft Launched for a month and went Global,i think they rushed it and should have spent a few months 😶🌫️

It's just that Squad Busters is supposed to be this big crossover game that's going to attract a lot of attention. I think that Supercell was looking at it money wise instead of quality wise.

I think the biggest problem is the lag, which lets you go back to where you were a few seconds before, like you just moved somewhere, and the system lets you pretend nothing happens

The game is built around fast paced movement and conatsnt moving, yet the way you attack is by NOT MOVING??? biggest flaw in game design ive ever seen

The game has it flaws, but it's mechanics make it unique as hell, with the right changes it can become one of the best mobile games

@@mortipinsHonestly, based on what they are doing with CR I dont have much faith. They literally made an official add of an evolved mega knight being broken asf. Supercell is aware of the problems and makes memes about them being a bad company

The play with a friend feature in this game is god awful. Their is no reason to play in a party. Even if you get all 10 people, 5 of your friends are losing their streak.

I think that when in a party your streak cannot be lost but it cannot also increase.
Pvp in this game is usually a loose loose situation. You fought someone, and congratulations! You get a key and a high rank! However, half of your team is dead, and you're probably going to die within the next 30 seconds. It's even worse when someone fights you, then you both forfeit. Not only did many of your strongest troops die, but now someone else can charge at you and you die in under 5 seconds.

Yeah I noticed this too before finally calling it quits, I noticed all the issues mentioned in the comments before I quit except the meta settling down to economy units and not fighting, I only gave it a chance cause I like the idea not being dragged down by my teammate, also it fixed the problems of Battle Royale games having squads vs solo players. But in return it has other problems just as bad that made me quit.
And ofcourse I made a generic "So P2W" review in the store, just enough drama to be taken seriously.

@@dmitryr9613 Yeah nothing we can do, there's always those fools who inherited money and splurge buy to pull up the statistics, that it's worth making games P2W regardless of the backlash, those fools probably think we're working for them for free and make games not as P2W, while they still support these kinds of practices.
When you were there when the dawn of P2W came, you just have so much to say, that you have nothing to say.
Like, I have no proof but, this is why League and dota exploded in popularity, as MMORPG are getting more and more P2W, Mobas where the only multiplayer having no P2W mechanics. I was originally an MMORPG and FPS guy.
This game has no replayability. In my opinion I don't get the urge to login everyday because there's not a real incentive to do so. There's no higher goal to reach and the pay to win just sucks honestly.

Clash Royale, at least, is only P2W in high ladder and wars clan. If you play the normal mode or Grand Challenge it is one of fairest game ever for F2P

Fr, it's irritating if you are attacked while opening chest, because you have to pick a character then have to run, and you know if your squad is weak, your gonna lose. I wish they put like a attack button or an open chest button when they are in range or even a cancel chest button so you can run when you are getting attack while opening chests

this make ppl have to fight against each other whenever they meet, no matter its team or not
also, if that button ever exist, wintrader will surely be something, cuz you can play with friends in a team and that still count into chest ticket
the other ideas are pretty nice though
The problem is the that the chests should cost a lot more coins, because it is so hard to see what is on the screen. Only thing I can see is how big their squad is, so there is not much skill. Also mega units should be given at the start of a match and not be consumables.
oh yeah thats true. once its late game, the screen gets so clutterted making it so hard to judge a fight. idk if this counts as high skill or low skill lol

Aw, man 😂 and I remember when I first saw this game on the google play store I was thinking if you could have a pure "Clash of Clans characters" build squad... Like only Barbarian & Goblin. Turns out 😴 it's not very practical if PvP is broken.

I feel like supercell will shut it down because its lack of competitiveness. All of their games so far have been able to have massive tournaments worth thousands of dollars because of their skill caps and how interesting they are to watch. Watching someone clutch up and take a tower right on the last second, or trickshotting a ball in a goal would keep people hyped. In squad busters theres none of that. There no crazy plays or strategy, just pick the most meta units and have a good farming strat and you win. A squad buster tournament would be the most boring experience to watch compared to the other 3 games. And theres no way to fix that imo

My biggest problem here is luck. Sometimes I can't even get a fusion 2 mins in the match while somebody has got mega unit and crushes entire lobby. Also extending winstreaks was the stupidest addition ever. If they worked a little, they could make a really good game. Even tho, I still enjoy playing it.

I have played Squad Busters for like 2 days and uninstalled, I'm a Clash of Clans veteran and the super predatory monetisation + extraordinarily boring gameplay made me really uninterested in the game

another factor is how repetitive the gameplay is imo. the modifiers dont add much to the gameplay and it’s kinda overall boring. great vid!

I Think I should had not lasted 2~3 days if League just didn't implement Vanguard. And Heroes of Kings was released earlier. Speaking of quick cash grabs, I also played Ragnarok: Rebirth another(after careful contemplation) quick cash grab. Dont believe me, read the reviews.

The biggest problem aside from the p2w is the lack of deck building. In Clash of clans and boom beach you create an army, in Clash royale you create a deck, in brawl stars you choose a character and create a build for it, yet in this game the deck is random.
I don’t mind the random chests as long as you could change your 15 card deck, but supercell thought it would make the game more casual when you can’t build a deck, which is the dumbest idea!
By the time you reach the point in the game where you have over 15 cards most of the casuals have left, so it’s really a big fail on supercells part with that, I don’t think anyone will continue to play this game if they don’t change this one mechanic.
But building a deck would also be dumb as your just use the best troops in the game like tank, hog rider, trader, barb kind, etc.

It's up to the Devs to balance the characters, and it's up to us to use the best deck possible.

When everyone's balanced, then people will just pick line-ups that's easiest to play, there's no end to it. When everyone plays the same, there will always be someone complaining like, everyone plays the same and lacks variety. there's no end to it.
A game should be good when it comes out. We shouldn’t have to wait a year for multiple updates just for the game to finally be good. If the game wasn’t ready, they shouldn’t have released it globally

Honestly squad busters is pretty fun at the start, I kept playing until I reached royal world, then it just wasn’t fun anymore. I feel like all the hype was big, but the reality weren’t what people were expecting.

Riot implementing Vanguard probably helped alot, I was looking for a multiplayer game that's not just FOTM. And I was thinking this might last as long as CoC or Brawl Stars. Oh ho ho I extremely overestimated it and thats an understatement 😭
Here is another issue I can of find. You see, you have to have a really good squad. Like for example: If you don't get a character you need(i.e Greg, Mavis, Trader or Hog Rider), you know are doomed. Also, why can't there be a classic mode.

Another one: the mega units, like you are thinking that your squad is strong and stuff related and when you see a guy with a squad at the size a living room with a mega unit absolutely destroying other people that havent even unlocked a chest is kinda absurd, they gotta do smth or else the mega units might be considered a p2w strategy

Bro i got a squad busters ad when i watched this
some reason i got:
get boring after you get all 3 of you chests from playing matches
hard to get evolution (especially ultra)(thats 1000 babies to get one ultra 💀)
paid to win since you can literally buy keys during the game (especially the fusion key)(reroll chest is another paid to win feature)
getting new troops are hard to get, been playing squad busters for a month and the only characters i got from chests are bea and dynamike (the rest i got are from trophy road or supercell id)
same with spells, there a wizard in the lobby that give a spell for complete it, but let me tell you, that quest take so long, and you got like 24 hours before the wizard leave (also some character like the witch or pam give out a spell when you evolve them to super)
I agree with most but slow progression I think is fine in a game. Can’t expect to max things out in a few weeks

As someone who has been playing Squad Busters daily after release, i can agree that this game has some BIG issues, especially with combat
Like dude, if you're losing an interaction with another player, then good luck trying to escape while your troops walk like turtles even if you're holding the turbo button for DEAR LIFE
I really like the style of Squad Busters and i really want it to succeed, so i hope they take the criticism and improve their game

Apparently, the troops slow down when damaged. It is super useful for finishing off weaker players but is so annoying when you try to get away. Idk how they would fix it because it feels so good on the attacking side

the problem is that you cant really fight without a deathwar that ends both people's runs, as even a slight loss from a fight can be a death sentence. The best strategy is just to run really fast and build a big enough army to win the final fight

I think what I hate the most is that you have no actual control over your squad / squad members except movement guidance, all you do as a player is walk around and let AI & luck decide your fate

one of the only things i enjoy about squad busters is that adrenaline rush when the map is closing in and you scramble to get gems and survive

Well, it wasn't a fleshed out game either and it had about 2 years in beta. It's not like they killed a complete game
Another big problem of the game is the severity of the bugs, troops that do not maintain the formation, strange teleports within the range of action, mysterious slowdowns of the characters for no apparent reason both when you are attacked but also walking calmly, then there is the monstrous drop in fps when increasing elements on the screen and you never know the real-time position of the characters, some situations in which the characters freeze and do not follow the group. Finally the problem of the chests, when you use the skip it gives you the exact same characters or changes only one, in some cases some characters have never happened to me in the whole game; for example it happened to me to have mavis just in the last 10 seconds of the game, my only farmer gave it to me at the end.. Madness.

I think Supercell just tried to make a more casual game for people who doesn't like competitive that much, wich is pretty nice. I have been enjoying the game a lot thanks to that and I think it haves a lot of potential.

I'll be honest. This game is so heavy that I need to THANK THEM for not making it a really competitive game. It's better for people like me to just farm and run away, also, we only need to stay at top 5 to win, so the game doesn't need to take down ANY player. But yeah, it's a great chance if you find a weak opponent. More gems for ya!

Unpopular opinion: Squad Busters had better progression than Brawl stars.
Personally I like brawl stars but I can’t really speak on this cuz I progressed through brawl stars old system
No it quite literally doesn't, it's mainly rng through chest
@@sonicfan12e1 That makes it better. You can either spend your coins on more efficient but random progression through box tickets or spend your coins to max out a specific character through the daily shop.
@@wornyt you can save up credits and gems in brawl stars to get brawlers and people don't have to be lucky to get them
@@wornyt doing the coin strat f2p which is the main people who gets affected by the rng cause they have no choice don't normally get so much coin that it's gonna be a thing you can do enough to combat the rng
i was trying to download the game for over a months now. i live in russia so i cant just use google play or the app store. and guess what after this i dont want to

You can't use the "let them cook" card when after only 2 betas and like 2 years of development they decided to make it global. It didn't change at all from the betas (apart from adding more paywall stuff) and you pretty much summed up every bad aspect on the video, good job...

In my opinion, squad busters went global because of this year brawl stars peak, they put exclusive items that you can only get by basically INSTALLING the game

I think free to play Squad Busters is very similar to early Clash Royale in that in order to make progress sometimes you have to play a match knowing you’re not gonna get a chest afterwards. I just was able to get to Squad League (completely free to play) in order to get the witch skin, and there were many games where I didn’t have enough coins to buy a chest ticket. I don’t think this is an issue necessarily and I would say the most broken card is the hog rider. Having that added movement speed is such a game changer and I think it needs a small nerf in order to reduce the gap between players that don’t get to use the hog rider in their match.
