I totally agree with Sis regarding her take on Harper. I too am a HUGE fan of this character. I've been locked in since season 1 episode 1. It has been quite refreshing to see a show, of this magnitude, create such a character and make her one of the focal points. Although I agree Pierpoint is the nucleus, I've loved watching how everyone is in such reluctant awe of Harper's instinct and knowledge of the game. I've loved watching this young black woman enter a cut throat environment and take command to the point where her peers can't help but look towards her as a beacon on the floor, even though they want to hate her (try as they might lol). She knows her shit, all without a certain pedigree or even a degree lol. I'd hate her too if I were Eric Lol. Even though she was under his tutelage, I always interpreted Eric's reactions to Harpers' "accomplishments" on the floor as contempt; a slight jealousy, hence why every scene with Eric and Harper this season has been full of tension and EPIC!! Curious to see where it all goes. Thank you all for your reviews!!!
And thank you so much for watching! We can't get enough of this season and we're glad you're enjoying it too. Harper is a big part of this show's beating heart so no matter how wild she gets, it always makes sense to root for her on some level. She went from chaotic good to neutral evil to chaotic evil real quick, but she's still a hustler at her core. And she's damn good at what she does. The question is, will she ever be satisfied?
@@popcornfordinnerpodcast Yeah, Wilhelmina plays her cards close to her chest. There is definitely an element of the "Good Ole Boys" club at work in all the machinations. It seems that Wilhelmena's ESG pivot is what brought Pierpoint to the precipice. She maybe deserved to take the fall for it. Will be interesting to see if she sticks around and they develop her character more? It was painful watching Adler unravel, but, such great writing and acting!!! It made sense. His entire world (including his health) was imploding in one great episode! Not a lot of work/life balance in this world!🤣
It definitely did make sense! And it's poetic because he was taken down with tools of his own creation, including Ali whom Eric used as the final nail in the coffin. The old boys club serves has its benefits. Until it doesn't 😶
And culture is always the foundation, isn't it? It's what cultivated Eric's constant need to have some kind of enemy, as well as his inability to see anything as more than a trade.
I think Henry doesn't have any idea who he is. His judgement is so f**ked. He's like driving a fancy car with a blindfolded. Look at Jasmine and Harper being monsters trying to bury their fears so they can freaking win. TBH I wanna be Harper.
Eric decided to screw over Adler once he realized that even as a dying man, he would never simply hand over the reins of his position in the company to him. Eric realized this when they were discussing strategy.
And Eric's twisted sense of self-serving altruism just had to kick in at that moment. We'll just have to see how he handles the newfound power he ostensibly has.
I’m gonna have faith in my boy Rob….hes gonna survive and thrive with Yas ;) Yas is a good girl…she’s just damaged. But aren’t we all? Also regarding Adele’s golden parachute - Adler never sold his shares. He says that during the board meeting. That’s why he’s so gung ho about NOT selling the company. He was vested in shares but the Pierpoint shares are worthless. so until the stock gets better Adler is completely panicking.
We'll just have to wait and see if you're right about Yasmin. Otherwise, Robert might have a few words for you. And yes, Adler isn't quite ready to sail off into the sunset just yet, but no matter what happens now, his only real option is some kind of payout, and it could come in a variety of forms. Once the stock rallies again, he'll be fine to leave, albeit reluctantly.

Mostyn SCARES THE **** OUTTA ME!!!! Ubermensch 4.0????😱😱😱
We definitely feel you on that 😂
That was funny, but nasty, when Eric laughed at Willoughmena during the board meetng. He didn't belong there.
Eric had to support Adler his general in that moment as a loyal lieutenant. Plus, Wilhelmina hasn't exactly been forthcoming with him in recent times.

I'm scared now!!!! Poor Robbbbbb!!!!!🥺😳
We fully share your trepidation. 😅
Go Harper!!!!
He does that to Adler cause that's how they all behaved back in the day. The wall street "culture" that Eric and Adler came up in.
And culture is always the foundation, isn't it? It's what cultivated Eric's constant need to have some kind of enemy, as well as his inability to see anything as more than a trade.
Robert dying would probably hurt the most.
We might actually need therapy.

@@popcornfordinnerpodcast More and more, I am of the view that Industry seems like an updated form of the AMC show Halt and Catch Fire.
@@nmk5003 Mickey & Konrad have named it as one of their influences, so you're on the right track
Things might not have changed much? Except for an occasional, Harper, or Sweet Pea, or Rishi on the floor? Hence the failure of ESG? play?
I don’t know rich people don’t like when people mess with their money. I agree with guy on the far right. She’s in danger girl
Haha Ebuka's worries might just be validated! We'll have to wait and see.
I just want Eric to get humbled, I hate that guy. He just acts like a bully.
He *IS a bully. 😂 As they say, pride comes before a fall. The only question left is how.
