  • @lyndonyoung6756
    @lyndonyoung6756 8 дней назад

    Washington’s offense relied on hitting loads of explosive shot plays downfield one on one. Jalen milroe’s best throws were usually his deep balls. To get these one on one’s downfield Washington ran the ball and threw quick screens or quick hitting passing plays to force the defense into putting more players in the box. Once the defense did this they took shots downfield. It forces defenses onto a double edged sword. Do you stop the run and the quick easy passes or do you keep your safeties deep and protect yourself from big plays? This allows the run game to become dominate and make big plays of its own. Milroe will be great in this system and the Alabama offense will be great too. It might not be as good as a passing offense as Washington was because they don’t have as good receivers as Washington did but they will be a better running offense because milroe’s legs will be a huge advantage.

      @dmac42 saying stuff like that sounds so stupid. Unless you are in the QB room you don't know what the read is on a particular play. Some of those "bad reads" are automatic adjustments based on pre-snap alignment.
      As far as accuracy he has shown he can throw darts almost anywhere on the field. He has room to improve but the dude can do things throwing a football that very very few players can do.
      Tommy Rees wasted half the season trying to run some sort of Bill Walsh bullshit passing game. If he came out and actually adjusted his scheme to what Milroe does best he probably isn't a tight ends coach in Cleveland and Milroe might have a Heisman.

    • @brianfloyd2279
      @brianfloyd2279 18 дней назад

      I think if DeBoer's system clicks wight he players our run game should be substantially better...and if the run game can keep the chains moving it will open up the field for passing attacks.
      Last year before the season I said Bama wouldn't have a 1k rusher. This season, we could have two eclipse 1k, depending on how much Milroe runs the ball. Butni think Milroe will be limited to about 10 designed run plays for himself, and maybe a couple he can't find an open receiver, so he may run the ball about 10 to 15 times per game. The other backs, Justice and Jam, will be around 15 or 20 each on average, and at 5 yards per carry they'll average 75 to 100 yards per game each.
      If Milroe can stay efficient at around 65% and 200 yards per game passing with about 50 to 75 yards rushing, we should average prolly 450 yards per game of offense.
      As for the schedule, we have a very tough November. I can see Bama with one loss heading to the lsu game. From there what we do between playing at OU and then having what I think will be an extremely better AU team, finishing 10-2 is probably the upper end of our team, but I could see a 9-3 in DeBoer's first season.
      As for down the road, will this be the most talented team of DeBoer's tenure? Can he recruit at an elite level like Ryan Day and Kirby Smart? I am afraid Deboer wins a title woth9n his first 4 or 5 years but could become a Mark Richt type coach where he gets close every year. I hope I am wrong. He just hasn't been at a program longer than a few years to prove he can recruit to sustain. I think he can, I just don't have the history to justify saying so. Also, there is the NIL stuff going on where ncaa went to court last week. This will determine a lot in the coming years.

      Get ready to be proven wrong. Alabama has always been good no matter who coaches them. The only era they weren't good was when they had scholarship limitations.

    I love Jalen’s athleticism but not his ability to hit a wide open guy 15 yds down field or be consistent enough on 3rd downs to make me comfy. Situational football he’s not great at. He’s the Derrick Henry of qbs. He’s gonna make some big plays. But you have to live with the negative ones you know are coming too.
