I live in Minnesota where there's a sizable Hmong community and I've worked and hung out with many of them. Very courteous, hard working and they have a great sense of humor! Watching this video I have a deeper appreciation for the beauty of their culture!!!

I use to wonder why the OGs would tell me "Oh this music is so sad it tells this story about blah blah." I had no idea it was tones of words played into music. I will try to listen to them closer next time. Very interesting.

Holy Crap! This grandpa is from the same village my father and grandpa was borned. They have got to have known each other. I’ve been to Non Het back in 1999 to visit and honor my great grandpa’s grave. The village today is so much more modernized and not the same anymore. Would love to visit again soon and talk to him for more history.

Beautiful work on the documentary. I especially loved the emphasis on the beauty of our culture, rituals and music. The part where the guy says we have to know our value. It’s when we forget our value that we cease to exist. And what you said about as long as there is 1 Hmong person, our history and our stories will live on. Keep up the amazing work.

Neng, you are spectacular for displaying our beautiful culture so precisely! I myself often wondered how am I ever really going to preserve our language and customs and religion any longer, but then there are still people like you who revives it all so well. I've been working very diligently on this myself over many years basing info off of any historical videos or legit documents that I come across.
I respect this so much and appreciate your travels, your work, your near perfection in translation and it could not get any better than this!
Would love to network with you in the near future to share detailed information about our Hmong culture and history.
    Thanks!

I cried at the qeej song. Thank you for the translating. I come back to this video often and feel proud to be a part of something bigger and better. Destroying a language would extinguished an entire population and its culture from existence. The Hmong ancestors understood this. I hope the younger generations will learn to understand why they are urged to speak the language and appreciate their ancestors sacrifices. Keep it up Neng! I shared this with my father and he loves what you are doing. You have great content!
Let me know where I can find and listen to zaj qeej @ 37:15. It tells about the painful struggles & heartache that the hmong ancestors endured.
